Ever since they added the routines in 0.4.0 something felt WAY off.
Somethings were better pre-0.2.0 even, things zois dont do anymore like a kid joining up to wash laundry on their own when adult goes to do it and small things like that. 0.2.0 made zois do all kind of stuff, but since then maybe it's just me but it seems simpler, less free... more repeating the same things like mirror, cleaning, not playing their preferred instrument on their own... small things like that.

Hard to pinpoint, but yeah, something is definitely off.
maybe the removal of the karma and change to the enneagrams effed up the simulation?
Would make sense.

I completely agree the graphics got worse which they already admitted was done because the game was not playable anymore without optimizing it in this way. They also already confirmed they're restoring these options for high end pc's, so we just gotta be patient.

I do not agree at all that Inzoi was better gameplay or personality wise in the earlier months. The zois feel way more alive now than they did back then. Newer better animations contribute greatly to that. And maybe the old personality system was more unique in CAZ but it wasnt reflected in zoi behavior at all, so I dont understand the argument that zois had better personalities in old versions of the game.

Jealousy was really weird in the old build too. Zois would be super psychic about it which made no sense. Also hated how zois would autonomously do flirty interactions with EVERYONE they met and then psychic wife would suddenly text about 'a friend seeing them with someone else' completely ruining their relationship. Was honestly worse imo because I dont actually enjoy playing a cheater unless I plan to do so.

I think it's fine if it made sense but in this case it really didn't. 'Flirty greeting' to a stranger at a random beach shouldn't instantly ruin a marriage when the wife wasnt even there.

You have various forms:

• Inactive residential families who live in a house on the map
• idle families that you see in your family management tab, they also appear in the city
• single NPC's that are randomly generated and arent part of any family idle or residential.

My zoi married a single NPC and I got a bug where his old NPC schedule was stuck in the scheduler. It contained big 24h blocks that just pushed him to walk around on the streets, with the occasional visit to a lot for an hour or two.

I think they have the same behavior as normal Zoi, but their schedule determines where they go

We have to remember, Inzoi has chosen to adopt a hyper realistic animation style… so if they were to make the Zoi’s appear without clothing, it would raise the age rating (more towards Adults only and explicit content). Which would significantly narrow the player base and cause them to lose money from sales.

I suggested they looked into Nraas Retuner-esque autonomy control back in January when they posted the road map and Kjun responded positively to it but hadn't expected them to pick it up so soon! My son used to play TS2 at a young age. It was really fun for him. He didn't notice any of the mature stuff in the game. All he wanted was to put a volcano temple in his Sims backyard. Personally? To stay on topic: autonomy and NPC simulation is really the hardest bit of this genre and it also makes it unique. In other big open world games, most NPCs only give you the perception that they're alive, they arent truly being simulated, and they dont exist when youre not there. In a life sim, all NPCs and inactive families need to somehow have fulfilling lives even off camera, so they feel like proper real zoi when you do interact with them. They also actively play a part in populating your town by breeding with each other, which involves so many moving parts. Sims never managed to get it done properly either without inducing game breaking bugs that need mods to fix them. I think it'll be Inzoi's biggest challenge to get it right, and that's probably also why it's taking so long and they have to keep reverting old features (because they probably got broken by something else).

I see Paralives succeeding because TS4 Simmers are used to a game not really working how they want it to. So they lean very heavily on picture taking, posing, and storytelling based around that. • I dont think the game's age rating should be increase from its current 15+ rating. I think there is plenty that can be done within the set parameters. More extreme violence and adult themes can be modded into the game like sims

• It was kinda expected once the game first came out on early access that there was a lot left to do. The devs are continuing to cook, and I think they are doing their best to take people's opinions into account.

• I bet a year from now, we will look back and see a lot of improvements

• At least the devs are upfront when they say some aspects have been difficult and that they will try their best to tackle major issues players identify

Like if the zoi is hungry, he will pull out something from the fridge (which seems to be random regardless of eating preferences you picked... a bug that wasn't there pre-0.2.0 but I digress).

If he picks up a group meal, he will put it on the table and proceed to NOT eat it and do something else (cleaning, washing, reading a book, training with dumbbells, etc) then will have the hungry poke again... and go to the fridge again, ignoring the plate he previously put on the table. If he picks another group meal? repeat the above.

I had a zoi pull out 5 group meals out of the fridge, while other zois pulling out other quick meals, ignoring what was on the table.

It's all messed up, seriously messed up

And yeah they may cook new ones too 😹

In order as I think it should be, going thru the list one at a time to pick their meal :
1- If Zoi currently has an active urge (eat mango/granola/bibimbap/etc, or drink coffee), pick that.
2- Eat any meal not currently claimed which are lying around (served meals/unfinished served meals) which have not gone bad.
3- Eat from a meal stack lying around (such as a stack of 8 pancakes or how many is left in the stack) which has not gone bad.
4- Eat a leftover from inside the fridge, again as long as it has not gone bad.
5- If Zoi has cooking preference, make a single portion of their favorite food type if they can/ingredients permit. If more than one type of favorite, random choice.
6- If Zoi does NOT have cooking as a preference, eat a quick meal of their preferred food (if any).

Where it is applicable from the above points, Zoi should ALWAYS pick a meal with proper calories to get as close as possible to maximize their hunger bar, like if the zoi gets into eating a quick meal, and they like meat, they should pick the meat-type food with closest calories count to full (either 90% or 110% or whatever).
But also prioritize their preferred food if-type you picked any.

If no one makes a bug report, it makes it harder for them to make a hotfix to know if it is urgent enough

Bug reports help the devs know when something is serious enough to have to fix sooner

I remember a while back making a bug report or maybe I replied to one about urges not disappearing

They made a hotfix, the problem still not was fixed for some, and then they made another one
