Packetloss / Lag

Time outs and connection related errors typically have to do with to packet loss or "hiccups" in your connection to the server. Other games have buffering so you wouldn't feel those elsewhere. Rust, however, is very unforgiving.

Few things you can try::

• Make sure your Steam is up to date and you are not using a Beta version of it
• Get current on windows updates/security software & restart the computer
• Power-cycle your modem/router
• Run a virus scan on your PC
• Try a different type of connection/VPN if possible (wired vs. wifi)

It is worth mentioning that if the problem persists it could be out of your control. i.e; Steam maintenance, regional outages, and/or server DDoS attacks.

Packetloss / Lag

Time outs and connection related errors typically have to do with to packet loss or "hiccups" in your connection to the server. Other games have buffering so you wouldn't feel those elsewhere. Rust, however, is very unforgiving.

Few things you can try::

• Make sure your Steam is up to date and you are not using a Beta version of it
• Get current on windows updates/security software & restart the computer
• Power-cycle your modem/router
• Run a virus scan on your PC
• Try a different type of connection/VPN if possible (wired vs. wifi)

It is worth mentioning that if the problem persists it could be out of your control. i.e; Steam maintenance, regional outages, and/or server DDoS attacks.
