Data retention for those with Data Opt Out

Dear Cartesia team, I would be interested in learning about the Data retention periods for data in the API calls (inputs and outputs) for those based in UK with EU users who have filled in the "Data Opt Out". In your DPA, you have the following line, but I do not know what it means in practice for those that do not have Zero Data Retention : "If the Zero Data Retention setting is not enabled, Service Provider may retain and process Customer Content in accordance with the terms of this Agreement and applicable Data Processing Addendum."

Hi Felix - thank you for reaching out. By default, Cartesia retains logs (including API inputs and outputs) for 90 days, strictly for security and debugging purposes.
However, we offer a "Zero Data Retention" option. When this setting is enabled, typically in conjunction with your completing the Data Opt Out form, Cartesia does not store any data. Data is simply passed through our system to deliver the service and is not retained.
If your UK-based organization has EU users who completed the Data Opt Out form, then:

• Cartesia does not retain the data, regardless of the general 90-day log retention policy.
• This opt-out is respected even if Zero Data Retention is not globally enabled for the account.
• The "Data Opt Out" form ensures that such data is neither stored nor used for training or analytics purposes.
