Anyway uhm, just saying not everyone is using voice models for malicious needs. (catfishing, trolling, manipulation, etc.) Unfortunately, indeed- a lot still are. I get why people may not want the voice models around because of that, but it would at the same time be a downside for another group.

It would be like banning fireworks basically, some people turn fireworks into weapons and throw it at the cops, others just want to shoot it into the sky to watch colors.
Banning gets rid of the problem, but affects the more normal group as well, and often the group who uses it for normal reasons is bigger.

Just in case someone has been considering using Seedance 2.0 via dreamina.capcut.com, be aware that it currently seems to save a visible watermark "AI" to top-left corner, even though the advertising for the paid tiers explicitly says it's watermark free: "Remove the Dreamina watermark in downloads".

When I asked about this on Reddit, it got me instantly banned (permanently) within minutes in r/seedance2pro, and I assume this is somehow related to the official business, as for sure I didn't violate any of their rules listed, and my message was quite respectful.

So don't ask about this watermark issue on Reddit's Seedance or Capcut-related groups, as it seems that underhanded tactics are used to try to keep this issue invisible. 😩

@glad nebula sorry for the ping. i just saw the the old thread about raspiness with LC1.5 spin that i have no perms to reply to

I've had luck training a very good, natural sounding model with Aznamir's f0D32k_spin-v2_10e.pth (I think that's one of the oldest pretrains out there)

however anything else I've tried, including RefGan, seems to have the raspiness issue. I probably trained 20+ models (2-3h datasets each), with different batch size etc, but I can't seem to get anything near as good as with that pretrain.

not sure if this helps, or if you're interested at all, just thought to let you know

i've tried twice so far but it turned out to be a mess, asking just in case

pretrains are trained like regular rvc models
you have two options, or train from 0, so no pretrain, allows you to try new things like the v3 discriminators but takes weeks to finish and you're on your own, the model can blow up randomly

or finetune the og pretrain, which takes just a hours, but you're forced to use the v2 architecture

if you finetune the pretrain, yes, they can overtrain
from 0 it's highly unlikely for the pretrain to overtrain

its too much data

as for the dataset, aim for 100 hours minimum

in case you want to train from 0, ofc

from 0 the model sounds like a robotic mess for millions of steps

it needs to learn everything, even speech

og pretrain for sure was trained for over 2 millions steps

as long the first speaker sounds good, you'll be fine

you have to use the best speaker of your dataset as speaker 0
