if my data is 44k, but i trained at 40k, will training at 48k be beneficial? my logic is that if i train at 40k it downsamples my data, whereas if i train at 48 it may keep most of the sound as if it was 44, since its not downsampling it

when you convert a wav to mp3 there is a compression, frequencies you cannot hear are removed in order to save space, but the sample rate stays the same

i was asking this because i had an old audio that is from a compilation of audios for my dataset, and it was a mp3, and it showed 16khz on spek, but the original files were a wav, and i imported those into spek and it showed 22khz

so i wasnt sure if the quality diminished that much, or if it just had to do with spek

if the og files showed 22khz it means before the compression they were either in 44k or 48k

yes you can put multiple singular audio clips and auto slicer to automatically remove the long silences
in rare occasions this causes an error in training

safest practice would be merging everything into one singular file, truncating silence and using simple slicing

the reason I’m doing this is bc I don’t know what the reason is, but my original audio shows 22k on spek (for some of my data) but once I export everything together those same audios lower down to 16-18k, I’ve tried everything and I am exporting with the highest quality settings. When the audios are shorter for some reason spek actually shows 22khz, but when it’s all compiled they lower to 16-18

I got a new gpu (4090) and wanted to ask if realtime translation is possible now? Or with the 5090?
