It's mostly about the performance and some features ported from RVC Realtime (like Formant shift). In general, models are loaded faster, less RAM/VRAM consumption, less GPU usage, less CPU usage, lower latency and better quality is possible to achieve as a result (up to 2 times difference). It's also possible to load models in safetensors format which is safe to use

If you have tons of power and don't really care about usage and latency, maybe it's not interesting for you and I'd understand. But for lower level specs it's a game changer most of the times

Like for example, current recommended settings for w-okada is 80 chunk and 16384 extra for RTX 40-series, and for AMD RX 6000 series is 128 chunk and 16384. But what if I say that I run my version with RX 6600M with 72 chunk and 131k extra while playing and streaming not very demanding games without a hitch? And if I want very low latency, I can go as low as 28 chunk with the same 131k extra. And I bet even your RTX 4080 being more than twice as powerful won't be able to do that with original version :)

RVC forks such as ilaria rvc mainline & applio have built in tts (using Microsoft Edge TTS to make a generated tts audio, which i suggest you to choose a tts model that is the same gender and language of the rvc model you wanna use, and then convert it with rvc)

NOTE: RVC isn't as good as GPT So Vits for tts, but gpt so vits can't use rvc models (and viceversa), and its only limited to: english, chinese & japanese, if you wanna check gpt so vits instead, read https://docs.aihub.wtf/tts/gpt-sovits/

RVC forks such as ilaria rvc mainline & applio have built in tts (using Microsoft Edge TTS to make a generated tts audio, which i suggest you to choose a tts model that is the same gender and language of the rvc model you wanna use, and then convert it with rvc)

NOTE: RVC isn't as good as GPT So Vits for tts, but gpt so vits can't use rvc models (and viceversa), and its only limited to: english, chinese & japanese, if you wanna check gpt so vits instead, read https://docs.aihub.wtf/tts/gpt-sovits/

If you wanna do tts locally (if you got a good pc):

• You can find Ilaria RVC Mainline here (no guide as of right now)
• While Applio in our docs

If you don't got a good pc you can do it online:

• Ilaria RVC Zero (Running on A100 GPU, free fasted rvc on cloud) and the guide

• Use Applio UI Colab (with google colab T4 free daily limit gpu)
