You only need it if you are planning on training with crepe.

If you are new to making voice models, I suggest you train on rmvpe as its the "best overall".

Crepe is good for certain cases but very specific. You'd need to read up on it. I don't recommend it if your dataset is not 100% clean and being inexperienced

So if you use rmvpe, leave it at the standard, it wont affect it

there’s little to no work arounds that i’m aware of, for RVC to work it needs to output to an virtual audio cable so it can be used as a microphone, you should be able to hear yourself if you change the output to your headphones, but that’s obviously not very useful
