found a decent way to test my voice model! I just downloaded and extracted out a peice of the oriignal training data with my unaltered voice. I then ran it through my voices vocal model - if it significantly changes then the model failed but it's coming up near identical meaning little to no format / pitch shifting needed for the clone meaning it's an accurate vocal recreation.
I had a failed model before which I also tested and it sounded nowhere near my voice so this seems to be a good method.

yeah what I also did it took the original training data, formant shifted and pitch shifted it up a few semitones. ran it through the model and tried to see if it can work backwords and reproduce the non-pitch shifted / non-formant shifted audio and it nailed it.
This same method should work for people doing ai singers etc. just take a song from the oriignal vocalist pitch shifter and formant shift it and see if the model produces the studio version. Very easy to test models like this.

I wish their was an easy way to train a music model like rvc. If anyone knows of any please let me know. I think its possible to do it with audiocraft but its not user friendly at all and I wouldnt even know where to begin.

gotcha yeah Ill have to dig into that! I produce music here so have a vocal suite I can use for pitch correction etc that gives me similiar controls but this could be neat to dig into. My next goal however is something like musigen / audiocraft. I have 2tb of properly key labelled and sampled audio files. I would love to somehow train a custom ai model that can produce keyed components for production like "rising arp BflatMinor - 128bpm" / "Downsweep - FMajor - 140 bpm" etc. etc. I have the training data through my years of collecting sample packs but just need an easy way to retrain a music ai. I was looking at Audiocraft but its complicated as heck and just not as easy as rvc.

just put the install bat file in w.e. directory you want applio to be installed in. the bat file will automatically start downloading and installling everyhting needed in the directory. but maybe search a youtube guide or something if you dont often use open source / pulled stuff from github before.
you may need to turn anti virus off. sometime it catches and prevents command line processes.
