Since we added servers, so now discord is not obligated to play with other people, it'd be great to communicate with randos.

Edit: we could also use the voice chat since it's more comfortable, but add the mute option in case of toxicity or bad mic.

Personally Im for this. It would add a new layer of complexity as your opponents could have vocal tells about what they're doing which could hint at something they're gonna do....

Maybe text to speech chat instead? Like Moonbase Alpha. Give everyone at the table a random TTS voice.

new player: would love to play more but the lack of chat is a little bit of a turnoff, and my discord friends aren't nocturnal (sadly). for toxicity, similar game: the VC in liar's bar is, like, fine. as a person with an androgynous voice, people mistake me for a guy a lot, but even in lobbies where they figure out i'm not i've only been weirded out by active harassment three times so far in ~60 hours of playtime, and when I encounter a racist lobby i just leave and find another one.

anyways, i'm sorry you experienced toxicity, but there comes a point where it's your responsibility to remove yourself from the situation (by muting) so that way you can enjoy the game. trying to prevent vc from being added to the game because you've experienced very bad behavior, while unfortunate, is not the solution

it's not right and it's not okay that people treat you that way, but at the end of the day, we cannot force other people to be good people. all we can do is try to take the steps that will keep us safe (muting, leaving the game, reporting/blocking)
