The original Steam launch was back in April, and it wouldn't make sense to me to have them suddenly give out Steam keys after they already made the superior build. Think of it as they made a DLC, and want to be paid extra for the time and effort put into that DLC, and itch.io isn't compatible.
You will have to sink some extra money into Steam, or get lucky and someone can buy it for you.

Part of why in Double or Nothing, I always steal the Dealer's saws as fast as I can. Better I take it and waste it on firing a blank than him getting the chance to hit me for 2 damage.

I can explain them here:
- Beer: Consume to skip the current shell in the shotgun. Good for if you want to get through the load faster, but otherwise situational.
- Handcuffs: The Dealer's next turn will be skipped. Really good to allow for two chances of damage. When you shoot the final shot in the gun, the Handcuffs will always end their effect.
- Jammer: Same effect as Handcuffs, but used in multiplayer.
- Cigarettes: Recover 1HP when used. You can't heal past your starting max HP.
- Hand Saw: If the next shot fired is a live round, it deals 2 damage. If it's a blank, the Saw gets wasted.
- Magnifying Glass: Lets you see the shell currently in the chamber.
- Expired Medicine: Roll a 50/50 chance, either healing 2 HP or receiving 1 damage. You can't heal past your starting max HP, and failing the coin flip can be fatal. Only use as a last resort.
- Burner Phone: Reveal a random shell that's not the current shell. In Multiplayer, a random shell that's not the current shell or the next one. The phone says for example "3rd shell live", that's the 3rd shell starting from the current shell. Not necessarily the first of the whole load.
- Adrenaline: Use to steal any of the opponent's items. Note that you can't steal the opponent's adrenaline.
- Inverter: Swap the current shell between live and blank.
There's also an item in Multiplayer that swaps the turn order, but I only play 1v1 so that doesn't spawn.

theres a bug that lets you do that. It messes up a lot of other things but its all mostly beneficial to the player. Simply hold R when the shells for the next loadout is revealed
then you will skip the waiver every future attempt until you restart the game

Did someone messed around with the last update and created like a custom ruleset?
I'm trying to figure out one while playing with some friends of mine, I want to reduce the overall amount of items on the table, also I was thinking of setting up a "sudden death-esque" Round 3 with no items and a pre-determined set of sequences, like:
- Round 3, no items, 3 charges
Sequence 1: 3 blank, 2 live
Sequence 2: 2 blank, 1 live
Sequence 3: 2 blank, 3 live
I'm also banning jammer and adrenaline in 1v1

I just limited adrenaline to 1 per player (so you can't stack them to easily screw someone over later) and limited the amount of phones to 2 per player (so they don't clog up the inventory).
Also set starting health in the three rounds to always be 3, 4, and 5 respectively.

It's a lot of fun. Haven't been able to get a full group of four players (+ the dealer) due to people getting sick a lot this time of the year. But we've played it with three players at the table, and will again this weekend.
But the whole thing mirrors the design of the original game very closely, so it'll work for 4 players just as well.

Yeah, there's a dedicated dealer who runs a round generator app we developed and loads the shells accordingly, one at a time, reloading after every shot (due to how this shotgun model works). The app also generates burner phone messages on demand.

No, the polarity inverter swaps the type of round currently in the gun without removing any shells, live to blank and blank to live. The beer just removes a shell, and the next one could very easily be the same kind of round

with items as well
when theres like 3 bullets and I have a phone I use it and try to figure out where the live is
if I'm lucky I got a magnifying glass
and when I see a live in chamber 1-2
I try to switch it
and then blank it to 3
and see if I can switch it to a live and shoot him
without him getting a turn

I mean, yeah the grind's the main thing. Just be sure you don't keep any duplicate items, except adrenaline which can steal the Dealer's items to make up for what's not on your board. Probably focus on a 4HP round that'll give you decent opportunity to survive and stall the round long enough to get the draws.

Library staff were impressed and are gonna make the game available to try out on their free-to-access gaming computers. They're gonna buy the game for 12 Steam accounts, one for each computer.
This will allow local multiplayer games to take place, I'll send photos if I see games happening in the coming weeks
