It should just... work. You install the mod with xdelta patcher, click "multiplayer" then "host" and it'll take you to a waiting for players page. Then when you go to "multiplayer > join" on a different machine (or a different instance on the same machine) you put the public IP of the host computer into the box that says "Ip address" and it should connect
