I found a way to make pills work in my tabletop version, since in that game a round played with more than 2 players at the table isn't as much about survival, as it is about dealing damage. Each point of damage is added to the tally and rewarded at the end. The last surviving player doesn't automatically win, they just get a few bonus points.

So healing up with pills both means you survive for longer and can keep dealing damage, and it means your opponents can score more points by shooting you. Suicide by pills locks in your current score, but also denies your opponents the chance to land that killing blow.

Singleplayer follows completely different rules, the balance between you and the Dealer in any given round is skewed in your favor, but the theoretical goal is to just... keep surviving forever, pretty much. Which balances out the advantage.
Pills aren't really used much in singleplayer, outside of situations where your chances of survival without pills are worse than 50%. Since you're in it for the long haul and don't want to take unnecessary risks.
In multiplayer each round exists in isolation, so taking stupid risks isn't much of a problem. As such, players feel a lot more comfortable taking pills and letting those dictate the outcome of the round. (Since both the reward and the punishment from the pills are very potent.)
And having rounds be decided by a coin flip unrelated to the loadout isn't very satisfying.
I think it'd be nice to have an option to include pills in a multiplayer match. But by default they're not a great addition.
Additions to the scoring system are interesting, but at the moment those extra stats don't impact the one real stat which determines the winner. "The wealthiest".

I see what your saying and i do agree on some of it. Because yes true in singleplayer u indeed dont use pills when ur like only lost one life charge so that is true. Tho i do think its still smt great to update in the future. Im not sure how personally because im no game developer but i do like ur way of thinking. Just do hope one day they get added. But i do agree people will often use it more in multiplayer because theres no real "risk" going on like multiplayer where your score is on risk (aka money score) but i do think it can be somehow worked out. Maybe a vote. Or smt again im no expertise in balance. But just use it as a consideration (i as well remember u being a mod so idk how close u are to the game but take it as a consideration of the forgotten item)

I personally chose to leave. I wanted to help when the server was getting too much activity and the moderation team had trouble managing it on their own. But when things calmed down, I chose to dedicate my time to other things.

It's been pretty good. Kept playing the game with my friends. Also turned my own basement into a club for friends over the course of November. I remember us testing the prototype of our version of Buckshot in summer and deciding that we need a proper space to play it in. The whole thing turned out to be very fun, both to work on and to play.
I've done a lot of other creative stuff since then, but that's a different story.

multiplayer? go to the multiplayer menu, chose "search for lobbies" and if you dont see anyone, click "range : near" to swap the lobby pool to a further distance until you see someone, if not anyone then noone else is in a lobby rn, you can try hosting and opening it to public to see if anyone joins you
