You need to drag it on top of the thing you wanna remove

You should only Shovel golden chests tho

You have 9 level one cards, you merge 5 to get one level two, four level one cards remain
You merge three of these level one cards and you'll have 3 level two cards and one remaining level one card that converts into gems
