I would claim that first ★ upgrade card, then save up nine of them. Set the last one to the side, and merge eight cards up to a ★★★ upgrade (skipping completely over the ★★ upgrade).

After you upgrade, that last card (and any luckys) can be exchanged for gems

👉 note, you cannot have more cards on the ground than can be three-merged up to a ★★★

fyi, if you hold one T4 animal and T4 plant at the top of your farm they will always give you that additional resource. I personally like to keep sugar and milk at the top because there's a lot of demand for them.

Not to mention that it ensures that you get an additional resource.

If my math is correct,
Silver is the clear winner for gems and energy and almost best for tools.

All chests are tied for greenhouse parts.

Bronze is best if you need tools fast.
