I would say usually silver, as bronze chests make such a mess. Gold chests can be good if you are really running out of space though.

Also, if lower than level 20, it wouldn't hurt to not open any chests and shovel them all away (but hold onto the keys for later, always 5-merge too)

That is one of the three trees that you can purchase. It is the lowest tier of the three, and is comparable to the amount of wood you would get from the standard tier 1 tree

One cool thing about it though, is that you can move it around and use it to store energy from other players if you have multiple of them (or just collect the little profile pictures). It also just makes great decoration

Unfortunately, since that Discord update, a lot of people are struggling with the vibration on Discord mobile. You can put your phone on do not disturb or disable haptic feedback in your phone settings, but until Discord adds new settings it seems to be a common annoyance for players.

Yes, however you cannot have more cards on the ground than will merge up to a 3-star upgrade

I would claim that first 1-star card, then I would save up nine of them. Set the last one to the side, and merge 8 cards up to a 3-star (skipping completely over the 2-star upgrade). After you upgrade, that last card can be exchanged for gems

I would not do that until much later in the game. Unless you just really want a prettier looking windmill, or if you want to remove it from the map. You're going to need so many tier 10 tools though that you're just slowing down your progress by repairing it
