I was primarily opening gold chests until recently, even though many say silver is best. I finally decided to start opening silver chests tonight.

Gold keys never drop. You have to merge to get them if you want them

I mean, gold chests seem to drop higher-tier Greenhouse materials than silver chests. But since you can open way more silver chests than gold chests, the overall comparison shows that Greenhouse materials from silver chests are still better.

Fun fact: the drop rate for higher-tier materials in gold chests isn’t that much better either, so you’ll bleed dry if you keep trying to open gold chests

the problem is not about the chests it's about the keys, you HAVE TO MERGE 5 SILVER KEYS to get 2 gold keys. And the drop rate of keys is kinda low so...

plus gold key can only be merge to get not drop compare to silver keys

The Tier greenhouse materials in gold chest definitely higher than silver but the drop rate is low so you can choose greenhouse quantity from silver chests to beat that. It's just like "do you wanna gambling with that low drop rate?" I dont :))

I've been claiming the first 1-star, then merging eight 1-stars to go straight to 3-star (skipping 2-star). If you have a 9th card set to the side when you do that, you can convert it to gems afterwards too
