is it just discord when you open activities or is it the game that pauses background music from spotify and what not on my phone? everytime i play i cant listen to my music 💔

If you join a voice chat (on your phone) while you're on spotify, the media player is paused usually. To avoid this, you may want to login via discord on computer and play your music side by side.

(Phones OSes usually pause media players during a call, and joining a VC constitutes as a sort of call activity from what i know, that's why spotify wont play when you join a VC)

I am unsure about games within discord. If you arent in a VC, it should be mostly an OS issue or a discord issue. Technically it should work, unless Discord claims that it is playing some media and stops Spotify from playing music.

(Basically phones usually cannot play media from more than 1 app. It will stop all the other media playback you begin playback on, say, spotify)

You may also try another trick: if you're using AirPods or any such devices, you can resume media playback using the AirPods. If not, sorry, I am out of ideas 😅
