Greenhouse also important but it's very far into the end game I wouldn't prioritize if you're low on space since you won't likely get one until close to 50

Also wondering if I made a mistake - I have had a fair few 1 stars now so I redeemed them for the boost, and I started to do 3 merges on them to get 2 stars to get the next boost (I know 5 merge is best but at the time I was thinking it might be better to get the upgrade quicker each tier). I currently have a mish mash of different 1 stars and a 2 star on the ground (the 2 star type I have, I had already redeemed so this is an extra).

Is the way it works is you'll only ever get an amount of cards that add up to a 3 star? And if you redeem some before you merge to a 3 star, it resets and you get what you need for a 3 star again? (hope I worded this okay :') )

Relatively better. Higher tier of greenhouses. Nothing under tier 3 gems. It saves you time and space by being patient and waiting for golden keys

You either open lots of bronze boxes and slowly merge everything, or you go slow and every once in a while you get enough high green houses and gems to give you a boost
