if you need more resources, you should upgrade each level. if you want a little bit more gems, you can wait until you have the max number of cards and then merge and hope for a lucky merge

So, by my calculations, considering you only use purple toolboxes, always merge 5 and get no lucky merges (highly unlikely, I think) it takes 110 purple toolboxes in total.
If you get lucky merges on high tier you can significantly reduce this number

you need them to repair decorations that you unlock on your farm, but many farmers choose not to do that. You will need them from level 35+ as you unlock shops that need certain tiers of tools to repair. you're good to delete/shovel regardless as they are an infinite resource and spawn from chests especially if you're hurting for space at the moment.

as far as the we (the community) is aware, 5 is most optimal and any bigger merges don't give you anything extra. some players have done their own experiments and data tracking, including some of the mods, and you don't get any extra xp or anything so 5 is the sweet spot

you only get enough cards to reach level 3*. So you can upgrade to lvl 2 only, but if you have enough cards to upgrade to lvl 3, you wont get any more

so you'd need to get lukcy merges or smth in order to turn extra cards into gems

Reset progress helped in cases where people were unable to move up from tutorial stage . Such as there were not enough items to merge or shop not opening

not sure if there’s a solution for this, but when i try to use Farm Merge on my laptop in touchscreen mode, it doesn’t work properly. it seems as if the touches are registering for a split second, only letting me move things a few millimeters before dropping them. or, it’ll let me zoom in or out, but only a very tiny bit (because the pinching gesture only registers for a split second). anybody experienced this? are there any known solutions (like settings to turn off in Windows or something)? thank you
