The administrator or moderator of the server needs to tick the settings of voice channels. most likely only administrators and moderators can now run the game, and others do not have permission.

In the settings you need to allow all participants (everyone tag/role) to start activity in voice channels

greenhouse has 12 tiers and you only get the parts from chests so it's pretty much a late game goal. depends on your own farm and how much space you've got and are willing to sacrifice. a lot of people don't bother and just shovel all the pieces. once it's fully built it gives you some greenhouse exclusive drops like seeds that you then merge for more stuff, with a small chance for a small amount of gems every 24hrs

per announcements "Upgrade Cards now only drop until players have enough to get one tier 3 for each crop/animal" the wording makes it seem like it would not be option 1. People would still be able to have card farms as long as they don't merge a 3* , whereas before you just wouldn't claim them. This doesn't seem like a logical change if they are trying to nerf it solidly.
Option 2 seems more logical, but i'm not sure anyone knows exactly how many 1* cards at this point because the wording is a little ambiguous, e.g. if you 5 merge 1* and get 2x 2* does that mean the game will only drop a further 3x 1* ? this would be a loss in comparison to gathering 9x 1* cards in the first place. what about lucky merges?

I think only gold chests are worth opening, if you're going to even open chests, I'd shovel the bronze and silver ones. Just merge up the keys.

When you get a 3rd train ticket, always use it, even if you can't get more energy.
And the free energy / gem things are all mergable so it's worth waiting to merge 5 and scale up.

the new way that 2x visits work is that you get the bonus every 4 hours when you visit a real person. once you've used your 2x, you've got a personal cool down of 4hrs before you can visit someone else and get 2x again. it doesn't matter if its the same person or different.

actually any multiple merge of 3 minus one will net you the bonus merge. So to get 3 of the next level merge it would take 9 basic but you can merge 8 and get the same result. so if you need 12 basic wheat to produce 4 medium wheat you could accomplish with 11 basic wheat and still get 4 mediums

the hotfix that was released recently was intended to patch that. it seems that it has done for a lot of players but unfortunately it seems like there are some exceptions. Over here: #1286468581596467262 is a thread in bug reports where we are collecting any information on players who may still be effected by the bug even after the hotfix 😦 i would say to keep trying regardless. i'm sorry the patch seems to not have fixed it for you, that sucks!
