This is true, you are right. I think this can be simply explained by being a choreography issue. Rosario Dawson simply cannot match the level of agility speed etc. that the animated series displays. Whereas Hayden and Ewan McGregor are so skilled they actually exceed their animated counterparts
I don’t think age is a factor. We should look at Yoda, or Dooku, or Sidious. They all use Force augmentation to mitigate their age limitations. Whereas Ahsoka in the show does not, for reasons that relate to choreography. Granted, she’s obviously not as powerful as those three, but from what I’ve heard (I haven’t watched TCW) she moves a bit slower than her animated counterpart. But also from what I’ve heard she doesn’t even do flips or anything of that kind very much anyway

My thoughts on why the saber combat recently has been so dull and uninteresting:
To make a successful saber battle, you need 3 key components. You don't even need flashy moves or complicated choreography like the prequels.
1) Martials arts/unarmed strikes. Punches and kicks flying between opponents make the fight feel much more visceral and emotionally charged (see Ventress and Obi-Wan vs Maul and Savage).
2) Force powers. Make the Jedi/Sith use the Force for fuck's sake. Make Sith spam lightning, make the Jedi throw rocks or collapse beams (see SWTOR cinematics).
3) Emotional stakes. There needs to be some conflict or connection between the combatants that is telling a story through their movements, words, and eventually winning/losing the fight (see Anakin vs Obi-Wan on Mustafar).
A cool setting helps too. The fights recently have just been on boring flat terrain with static lightsabers and shitty spins. The Ahsoka vs Baylan fight did include martial arts and some Force powers tho which was cool

I will 100% always place blame on the Mandalorians for every bad thing to happen in regards to Star Wars worldbuilding, but the idea that a non-Force sensitive person let alone an entire culture can face-off against a Jedi or a Sith in melee combat and best them is one of the most ridiculous things that could have come out from the Mandos
