The theme for the first globed creator contest is a Jump King style level

(||https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=qL2cQ0JAb4M||) including lots of vertical gameplay and punishing falls, you should not be able to die often in the level, only lose progress

levels will be judged on gameplay, decoration and multiplayer enjoyment

levels should be platformer mode and aim for about 3-10 mins if played perfectly and 30 mins to an hour if played casually

try and be creative with gameplay elements and gimmicks, the level being fun will be more valuable than it looking nice

you should submit only new levels (above id 101000000) and levels can be collaborations with no participant limit. all assets in the level must be your own, and follow community guidelines

Server downtime (temporary)

Hi @everyone, I am very sorry to announce that the servers will be temporarily shutdown, due to the upkeep cost being too expensive, since we never expected this amount of concurrent players.

We are considering switching to a different cloud provider with much more affordable plans, but the transition may take some time. We want to make sure this hiccup doesn't happen ever again so please bear with us.

In the mean time, if you want to help cover the costs, it would mean a lot if you could donate to us. We really appreciate it, no matter the amount. ❤️

there is now a way for players to be muted in-game instead of having to get dank to, which means that all previously banned players are unbanned.
the general system we abide by is:

  • micspam: small temp mute
  • toxicity: extended mute
  • slurs: ban

On another note, we have added a new leveling system for our server! As you may have noticed, you can't post images in #📷︱media, that's because from now on the channel requires you to be Level 3 in order to do it. All you have to do to gain levels, is to simply chat in the server. Currently, we have no other uses for levels except the full media channel access, however, that may change - we're open to suggestions! teehee

Hey everyone, we are a little late but happy new year to everybody!

We are really proud of the progress we have made over this time, getting over a million downloads on the Geode Index (and at one point being the #1 most downloaded mod!) and consistently gaining over 100,000 active users monthly!

The team is really thankful to every single one of you, whether you are a content creator that made videos on Globed, a donator that helped us fund development and server costs, or just a regular player, we really appreciate it! Hopefully we can bring more amazing features to the mod in the year of 2025 :)

Servers are back up!

(Our domain expired so we had a few hours of downtime earlier.)

If you are still having problems, this is likely due to the delay in DNS propagation. If you are on Windows, you can try opening command prompt and running ipconfig /flushdns. If that didn't work, or you are not on windows, sadly the only solution is to just wait. There's not much we can do to solve it, it may take up to 24-48 hours but that depends on when your ISP and DNS server will pick up the change.

Hi everyone, there's a few changes happening on the server:

  • we've retired the globed-servers channel because it was very inactive and there was a lot of confusion created by it
  • we've changed the Globed level request channel, since now it serves only as a purpose to request levels for our Globed feature system. For more information, head over to #1356307352361369672. Remember to follow the channel rules and happy requesting! whiteGlobed
    EDIT: forgot to mention, but we've also changed how the queue works, because now it prioritizes levels that were created by the community, which gives you faster access to having your level featured!

Hey, if you updated to Globed v1.8.2 (which was up for around 10 minutes), Globed might not load (or might crash the whole game if you are using Wine)

The latest update, v1.8.3 fixes this, so update to it. If you are on Wine and cannot open the game, delete the file <your gd folder>/geode/mods/dankmeme.globed2.geode

Globed update v1.8.5 is out now, featuring multiple bugfixes and most importantly, a large fix to 2-player mode. You are now able to beat many levels that weren't previously possible in this mode, for example here's a clip of us beating the second dual in Duelo Maestro, which previously was broken due to the keys in the 2nd dual. (sorry for the quality of the clip :p)

note: the mode is still not perfect, there's some things that can still cause issues such as touch triggers, but we are planning on improving it further in the future

If you are currently having issues connecting to the Globed servers, please wait a bit or try to do any/all of the following and reconnect after each one:

  • If you are on Windows, open "Command Prompt" via the start menu, type ipconfig /flushdns there and hit enter
  • Restart the game
  • Change your DNS servers to Google DNS . Here's a link to a guide, and make sure to set 8.8.8.8 and 8.8.4.4 as preferred and alternate DNS servers respectively

We made some changes to DNS configuration and certain DNS resolvers (like Cloudflare) are painfully slow at updating the records, so they might return invalid results, causing connection issues.

If none of the steps above help, unfortunately you can only wait until the issues are fixed on their own, hopefully it should be no longer than an hour or two.

Hey everyone, happy new year!

We are very proud to say we have crossed 5 million downloads today and hit the peak of 13000 concurrent players a couple days ago. Thank you to everyone who used this mod, made videos or streams featuring it, donated to help us with development and server costs, we appreciate all of you!

To start off the new year, we will soon be releasing a major revision of Globed, which will feature a lot of bugfixes, QoL features, as well as some major features and changes. This was a complete rewrite of the mod, and we worked hard on it for a good portion of 2025. Later this year, we are planning to release even more massive features, so stay tuned. See you in 2026 :)

Hey everyone, we have expanded our server list and now we have servers in US West and Australia!

This should improve ping for everybody living close to these regions, and also take some load off of the US East server, which for the last few days has been overloaded and struggling due to the massive player count.

Thank you to everybody who supports us on Ko-fi, servers are not cheap and we wouldn't be able to afford this expansion without you :)

The Globed server is currently down due to problems with the hosting provider. Please be patient as we try to restore service.

All servers should be functional again as of now. Some servers (usually US West and Australia) continue to have latency/loss issues due to a problem with the hosting provider, we hopefully will be able to migrate over to another host soon.

Hey everyone, just a small announcement that we did a server migration today, which covered the Asia, Australia and US West servers, additionally we have adjusted the firewall on other servers to try and solve any potential issues.

The last month there have often been various issues, such as high packet loss, unstable ping or general connection issues, and we apologize for that. The new servers have much more capable hardware and more stable networking, so hopefully everything should be smooth from now on!

Thank you to everybody who supports us on ko-fi and covers the server costs for us (as well to @near copper, who hosts multiple servers for us!), and make sure to tell us in #1288572924550189156 if you experience server lag again in the future!
