I got to point in the campaign where I was about to fight Fafnir (Act 3) in the cave and Torn has lost his scale. The objective was to turn the pillars to melt the ice with the beams. Well during this little section enemies keep respawning to add pressure while you turn the pillars which is fine if they are spaced out enough to give the player room to breath. Well they seem to endlessly respawn and they respawn so fast they can swarm/overwhelm and stack up to a point you never have time to do the objective (they even block the beam that is suppose to melt the ice wall as well).
I was also playing on Desolation 5 since my build handles it quite well so during this section 2-3 elites would spawn every 15-20 secs or so and while this section is a dream come true for people who want to exploit and farm them for endless loot, it was frustrating not getting time to turn the pillars before the next wave came in and blocked the beam or interrupted me.
I was finally able to completely it but that was after killing like 30+ elites, having hundreds of drops covering the screen and my FPS was dipping into the 20s while it is usually 80+. All that needs to be done is make the respawn waves have a longer cooldown period to actually give the player time to do the objective. If it stays it would be a good farming spot for rare rolls but will be frustrating for characters that get to that point with a very high difficulty level.
Attached is a pic of the aftermath of that gauntlet
