Will was always linked. I don't think Henry is being puppeteered by the Mind flayer, i think its the other way around. The way he talked about how El created him, it seemed he took control of the Mind Flayer and used it against everyone. But as for Will, the connection has never severed and thats why I honestly think Will is gonna die. It's the only way for the connection to truly die. Unless killing Vecna is the only way he is able to survive and I think Kali, El, and Will's powers combined, they can overcome Vecna

He also just gave a shape to the mind flayer to show that they're working together. Its shown that the Mind Flayer is what infects everything and controls it and well Henry has those same particles in him. Thats part of my theory because yes Vecna is "controlling" the Mind Flayer but only to do its bidding and once it doesn't need someone it'll just let them go.
