Here in Germany over the next week we’re about to celebrate "Sankt Martin" (Saint Martin, dunno how well known he is, he might not even be known that well outside of the part in Germany I live in but really I just don’t have a clue about that) where all the children make these really cute parade lanterns and walk through town. At some point in the parade there’s usually a small show around a huge bonfire where the story of Saint Martin is told (he cut his cloak in half and gave it to a stranger who had barely anything to keep himself warm at all) and then the parade continues. In the end the children all get a bag with lots of sweets and some bread and tangerines and other stuff like that. Then everyone gathers around yet another bonfire and there’s a huge firework show above a lake here in town. It’s such a cool tradition I love it.
Yeah I just looked it up it’s actually celebrated all over Germany and even in surrounding, German speaking countries.
Although the way it is celebrated may differ but the parade definitely is a part of it in most cases.
While not a display today (unless someone wants to set off fireworks after election results, I guess), the 4th of July has had a majority of them
