Cruel Summer is my go to Taylor hype song. I don't entirely know why it resonates with me. It gives me a sense of intense longing and screaming about it helps my mood. It's been my favorite Taylor song for a few years now, I've listened to it at least 732 times in the past two years. And yes that means it was a favorite of mine before it became a single. So I was very glad to see it get its moment to shine last year.

It will always be You're Own Your Own Kid because the song came out right before I went on a trip to Wales for a few weeks. Midnights was all I listened to there but YOYOK was definitely the one I found myself listening to the most. Now every time I listen to YOYOK I'm transported back to Wales and it instantly makes me happy 🙂

I believe all her songs have that synesthesia effect on me (those are the times I wish I was a singer, I would definitely explore that in my music), some are stronger and some not much

Another song I have this strong images is State of Grace, I feel like it's a sunny sky blue with light yellow like sand to me... And this got even stronger when I travelled to Rio in 2021, I biked close to the beach listening to Red and it was such an amazing experience

When I was 9 years old I went out to the frog pond with my neighbor who was 14 at the time and she pulled out her mp3 player and asked me if I knew who Taylor Swift was and i said no and she told me:

“well I really like country music and this girls first album came out today do you wanna hear it?” she handed me the mp3 player and she was like: I’ve already listened to most of it but I think you’ll really like this one.”

And so it began 16 years ago was the first time I heard this song and it’s been my favorite ever since.
