Confession time: when Taylor Swift was first starting out, I had heard a few of her songs on the radio, but I was not a big country fan. I remember her career really taking off after Red and then even more after 1989, but I still only ever listened to the radio hits.
I was not fully on one side or the other for all the Taylor/Kayne/Kim drama, because I, at the point, did not like Taylor Swift at all and I loathed Kayne and Kim. I hated LWYMMD and would go out of my way to avoid reputation when it came out because I did not want to be sucked into the fandom, drama, etc. It wasn't until almost a year or two later that my mom told me to listen to the album. When I did.... HOLY F**K. It blew my mind! I was fully invested at that point and took a deep dive into all the drama, theories, etc.
I wish I could go back and kick my younger self in the butt because I wish I had been apart of the fandom when this album came out. To enjoy (torturously) the social media purges, the theories, and the rep era in general. I regret it almost everyday because the reputation tour, from the Netflix special, just looked like such a blast! New Year's Day, Gorgeous, Dress, and KOMH are my favorites off the album, but the WHOLE album is my absolute favorite. I miss listening to the album because I never got a copy of it and I refuse to give them my money or streams, though I might buy a used copy. I CANNOT wait until reputation TV comes out so I can listen to them album again and enjoy it with the rest of the Swifties.
