AHH HAPPY BIRTHDAY TO MY FAVOURITE TAY ALBUM!

1989 was probably the album where I started to subconsciously become a Swiftie. It was a massive addition to not only her discography, but the pop part of the music industry as well. The album was basically a cultural reset. I would hear it everywhere. From "Blank Space", "Style" and "Out Of The Woods" on the radio in the car, (where I sang the words wrong, ofc), to the unforgettable "Shake It Off" which everyone memorised.
The entire album was pop perfection in every sense of the word. The lyrics were ear worms, but still beautifully written and held deep meanings, which I came to realise and love as I grew older. In my opinion, some of her best music videos came from the 1989 era, such as "Bad Blood" filled with badass women pulling off badass moves, and "Out Of The Woods" and "Wildest Dreams", which were breath-taking. Her vocals suited every song perfectly and showed so much growth from where she started as a country girl.
From the entire album, my instant favourite was "Wildest Dreams". I remember hearing it for the first time ever and being absolutely enchanted by it - her vocals were just so airy. So enchanted that I spent an entire hour writing out the lyrics and drawing flowers around them. As I listened to the rest of the album, I also came to love "New Romantics", "Wonderland" and "Clean". However to me every song is perfect and I have never skipped any songs on it - ever. I am so excited to hear how they sound on Taylor's Version, and to hear the vault tracks.
My only regret was not being able to see 1989 tour live, because that in itself was a big part of pop culture. I will be forever envious of those who got to see Taylor's iconic costumes, mashups and hear her vocals live. Because lord knows she'll probably never sing some of them again. I will forever cherish this album.
