I like GIRLI. she’s a pop rock singer and she’s just really enjoyable to listen to. i suggest the song “more than a friend.” you might know it already. i think if you like pop rock music you will like her. @/avril lavigne fans. “i really f**ked it up” is a good song too!

OMGGG ok so samia would be my go-to since rina sawayama is like a pop girlie and more well known while samia is an indie folk/rock girlie, but im sure some of the pharbs and taylanas mightve heard her. ok so. she just released her next albums presingle "kill her freak out" from honey, and its like giving 2 slow dancers by mitski, its like organ and then just like heartwrenching lyrics. i would recommend that OR "does not heal" for the nothing new girlies

I'd say Joshua Bassett, one of the sweetest kindest most generous people ever. He started off around the same time as Olivia Rodrigo with the High School Musical series but to this date he's the underrated one, and unfortunately a lot of people seem to only connect him to her. So far he's only got EPs, but an album is on the way soon. From that, for a first time listener, I'd love to recommend his entire discography so far, but if I had to narrow it down, I'd recommend Crisis/Secret/Set Me Free, Do It All Again, Feel Something (single), would you love me now? (single) and his entire EP Sad Songs In A Hotel Room. Lifeline, in particular, is one of my favourites. It's a very personal song about a terrifying experience in his life, and he wrote it to thank his mum for supporting him through it. All his songs are truly lovely and they're written from the heart and he's a wonderful person too who just does not get enough love

i really love chloe x halle, most people i ask don’t know who they are. they currently have 2 albums and a mixtape. the mixtape “the two of us” is a treasure, having 17 songs iirc and only being 25 minutes long. it’s fun to listen to in order as all the tracks flow onto each other smoothly. album wise, i really love their sophomore album, “ungodly hour”. the songs on this album are to die for, so i definitely recommend giving it a listen.

fun little fact about chloe x halle: they were discovered by beyoncé, and they got signed to her label after she discovered one of their viral covers of her song on youtube!

We all know Olivia Rodrigo here. A 19 Year Old who's an artist and an actress, today I'm not talking about her, I'm talking about her ex, Joshua Bassett.

Joshua Bassett is a singer and an actor, born in 2000 (21 Years Old) who played as Ricky Bowen in HSMTMTS.

Let's talk about his songs, istg he's literally a holy water of artist 😭 He makes Folk-Pop, Pop and Rock Pop. He doesn't have an album yet, But maybe soon. So far, he only makes 3 EPs. Joshua Bassett, Crisis/Secret/Set Me Free and Sad Songs in a Hotel Room. My favs from him are Lifeline, Would You Love Me Now?, Lie Lie Lie (Acoustic Piano) and Set Me Free. His songs could literally make you cry as the lyrics and music are just deep to his heart. He's kind, generous and lovely. I definitely recommend you to check him out.

Joshua Bassett is my favorite singer of all time. So you should definitely check him out!

UK hiphop artist Little Simz definitely deserves every praise she gets
her album Sometimes I Might Be Introvert was probably my favorite record dropped in 2021, she really delivers some amazing lyricism with great production on every single one of these tracks
people more familiar with rap will probably recognize her but I don't think thats the case with most users here so i'm picking her for this

The artist is recommend is BIBI. Bibi is a k-pop solo artist who sings and raps both and has a very calming voice. Calming to the extent that i used to listen to one of her songs every night for over a month to sleep. She has one album and a few singles out, all with a complete different vibes. She writes her own songs and raps and even helps producing music. My favourite song of her is Very, slowly which actually part of the soundtrack for my fav kdrama 25 21. Bibi is slowly getting recognition in south korea hence she performed in a few festivals there. But she hasn't done any world tour. I would be happy to attend if she visits india 😦 however i have seen a whole 2 hour concert of hers lol.
Here's the song i recommend:

I have two artists I wanted to feature.

First, you've probably heard of her because I very vocally stan her, Tessa Violet. I wasn't quite sure whether to count her as small, but her last tour was in a 500 capacity venue in NYC and 750 in Seattle, so I'd count it. I love Tessa's music nearly as much as I do Taylor, and her music is so catchy and fun! For starters, I recommend Kitchen Song (a very cute love song), Bored (basically the perfect 2020 anthem even though she wrote it before), and YES MOM (a song about self empowerment). The entire Bad Ideas album is great, and it's just full of bops. I saw her live three times this year (as an opener for Cavetown, and two shows on her headline tour) and she's amazing live!

Second, I would like to recommend Sara Watkins. She shows up so often on my daily spotify-generated playlists, and her music's great. She makes bluegrass/folk/country music and it's very calming. Her newest album is Under the Pepper Tree, although her 2016 album Young In the Wrong Ways is what I've listened to the most. If you want one song, give Without a Word a listen!

im not sure if shes a small artist but i like Sara Kays !! she is an indie-pop artist and has a light voice which sounds especially pretty in her higher register. her most well known song is 'Remember That Night?' that a lot of people probably heard.

two songs i like from her is 'Backseat Rider', which talks about growing apart from a friend and watching someone else take your place, and watching TV (a song that was released a month ago !!) which is about a relationship that seemed to have suddenly fallen apart.

Ladies and gents prepare to meet Canadian Indie Artist Allie X. bitchstop

Allie X (formerly; Alexandra Hughes) flew under the radars with her presence back in 2017. Her synth, bubblegum, indie pop music graced the hearts of some shows like; Canada's Drag Race, Love Victor, YOU, Ginny & Georgia, Shadowhunters, & just recently this past Wednesday on Chucky's season premiere. With little success with mainstream publication in shows like those mention. Allie X also took part in helping out with Netflix's own Sierra Burgess Is a Loser soundtrack; giving her vocals for two original songs; Kid Wonder & Sunflower (Synth Reprise).

Allie X to me is very much a open minded artist who puts her words into her work pieces as Taylor Swift does as well. Allie X is one of those indie artists who just pull you in with one song and you instantly grow into her with more listens. For any of the bubblegum pop listeners out there you would love Allie X. And sadly I have not been to any in person Allie X shows as she is currently focusing on her health for the past 3-8 months. But she recently joined District X which is a server based for her and interacted with her fellow fans.

I went for a more recent approach which I feel like will give a jist of Ms. X in her prime which is my personal favorite off her recent album Cape God; Sarah Come Home or if you want a more mainstream song which did get popular from Tiktok called; Bitch

I’d recommend Kina Grannis. She’s an acoustic singer and songwriter from California. Her voice is soothing, she is the sweetest to her fans, and has some bops. To start, I’d suggest listening to Valentine, In Your Arms, Without Me, and her Last Christmas cover. In Your Arms has a unique music video of using stop motion with jellybeans! If you like her vibe, then listen to her other covers and albums. She is underrated and has a voice of an angel.

Ok I'm gonna unveil my trash tendencies and recommend Phemiec, who makes mainly Homestuck fansongs (but personally I think they can be enjoyed on their own) as well as some newer stuff I'm not familiar with. So, hello I'm not best at describing stuff so this is gonna be short. The artist i wanna recommend is emotional oranges I'm not sure whether they're a small artist but I've not seen anyone in the server play them so maybe. Anyway emotional oranges are a POP/R&B duo i like the vibes their song gives sometimes it's funky for example in Personal or calming like in down to Miami and i think my favourite song from them is west coast love:

LÉON - Lotta Lindgren, Swedish singer. Lot of people might have already heard me rumble about her on the server already so here I go again. She is an Indie Pop, Pop singer with 3 EPs and 3 Albums. I started listening to her in 2019 when her debut album LÉON was released. Not a lot at the beginning. But I just couldn't stop listening to her during lockdown. Since then she released 2 more albums Apart and Circles.

Her music style is somewhat similar to Florence + The Machine or Adele one can say. Her live performances are filled with energy and she is just a mood to see in live. I recommend starting with the album Apart if anyone wants to start listening to her. I saw her live in Copenhagen this August and I honestly can't wait to see her again next tour and possibly for multiple dates. https://open.spotify.com/album/0x7mfCEXV2oWxFabJlD3uj?si=CasBoLocTVaNNb45tvY9gA

One of my all time fav albums is 'Forever Changes' by a 60s band called 'Love'. There are elements of psychedelic rock and folk in the album and listening to this album was one of the best decisions i ever made 🥺 The songwriting (exploration of themes of pain and confusion and helplessness) and the production is sublime. It is a great album to start exploring this genre and 60s rock music scene. I can't choose a fav but if someone wants to get a general feel for the album, i recommend listening to 'alone again or' and 'a house is not a motel'.

My favorite lesser known artist is Freelance Whales.
They're an indie pop band based in New York (tbh I think they stopped making music). But I love their offbeat lyricism that feels light, but has that thread of introspection and authentic rawness you look for in indie folk.

I guess the closest they'd be to a main pop girlie is Phoebe Bridgers? They're definitely of the same vein of Sufjan Stevens. I'd really only recommend their first album, but "Hannah" and "Broken Horse," are their most popular. I'd say start with Hannah between the two of those

One of my favorite lesser known artists is Citizen Queen! 💜 Founded in 2018 by Pentatonix's Scott Hoying, these ladies started as an all-female a cappella group, but have since expanded their horizons by incorporating instruments into their music. I love the vocal range of this group, the female empowerment themes in their music, and their exquisitely executed music videos

Though they have yet to release a full album, they have several a cappella covers, as well as a few original songs all put out as singles. I would definitely recommend their songs "No Ego," "Call Me Queen," and their most recent single released just this week, "Break Up"

I think anyone that enjoys pop and R&B, a cappella vocals & harmonies, and music about female empowerment will enjoy their music - it's giving Little Mix, it's giving reputation, it's giving bad b*tch energy tayrelieved

When I saw Pentatonix live in 2019, Citizen Queen opened for them, and I was absolutely blown away by their raw talent and stage presence tayadmire

RUN Adding onto Allie X. Someone I always wish she does a collab with:
Jaira Burns. Who has a much lesser mainstream attention besides her features on K/DA's songs POP/STARS & MORE (proving mostly for the chorus vocals and the later second verse for MORE.) These were the songs which were ultimately for League of Legends back in 2018.

Jaira Burns is solely pop yet with a touch of smoke and blaze to her lyrics. To my fellow Swifites who love summer vibes or care free music. Jaira Burns is probably for you. I love Jaira so much because her music is just that kind of music you can probably relate or just blast in your car while driving. Plus her blue hair is just ataychefskiss

The song I always recommend to people to listen to is; Ugly her first single and blow up hit; which was used in a headphones commercial starring Kylie Jenner. Also her only album to date and hopefully not her last. Burn Slow.

Joywave is an indie/alternative rock band which is my favourite band of all time but is extremely rarely mentioned anywhere so not very well known at all.

The highlight of the band's music is definitely the production. The combination of electric sounds and rock instruments creates a really unique product. Their sound has changed a fair bit through the years with 4 albums, 2 mixtapes and an EP but it maintains being incredibly well produced and interesting.

If you're a fan of alt rock I'd definitely suggest them. These songs below are what I'd recommend but the first is enough to give you a rough idea. If you wanted to try an album then Content would be the best option.

I'd love to recommend Abi Ocia, her songs are the perfect blend of calm and masterful melodies. Abi has captivated audiences with her silky lyricism and heavy production. Some might even describe it as "Dreamy music". The mixture of nice soulful R&B and pop.
Her debut single was out in 2016 and since then she has been known for "taking her sweet time" when it comes to her own content. Growing up in a church, worship music seems to have a lot of influence when it comes to her own music.
Abi says, "its all about leaving clues and building worlds, a technique that encourages the listener to take their time to get to know her via her music."

I'd definitely suggest listening to her EP 'Where are you?' it came cloaked in mystery, with the artwork inspired by Shakespeare's King Lear.

I recommend Lindsey Stirling. She has quite a lot of listeners and gained fame for her dancing violinist act, especially on AGT. But I don't think many people listen to her music. She has been a favourite artist of mine for 3 years and is very talented.

Not only is she able to dance and play violin, but she can capture emotions and meaning in her songs, even if it's without words. She has a nice voice as well. She also has great music videos which are beautiful. She has 6 albums (including two holiday albums), several eps and singles and many covers.

If you are a fan of instrumentals and classical music, I highly suggest her. Even though she produces quite modern songs. For those who are interested, I recommend the albums, "Shattered" and "Artemis". Her music videos are a must watch.

Japanese Breakfast is one of my favourite bands, and I’m glad to be recommending them. Headed by Michelle Zauner, a Korean-American musician, Japanese Breakfast is an alternative indie pop band with 3 excellent albums. I love each of their albums; they all have an ethereal feeling, whilst also having incredible, genre-bending production. My favourite Japanese Breakfast album is Jubilee, their most recent release. It incorporates all the things they do best, and do it even better than before, resulting in a brilliantly composed album with great storytelling. It received widespread praise upon release and is one of the most critically acclaimed albums of 2021. I love each and every song from it, each one with a different vibe but still forming a cohesive work. If I had to pick a favourite song, it would be Paprika, the opener from the album. It has an amazing production combined with great lyrics to create one the my favourite songs of all time. I can’t wait to see what they put out in the future

I've yet to see anyone on here recommend Bjork in this thread so that's exactly what I'm going to do.

Bjork is an Icelandic solo artpop artist active from 1990 until now. Bjork's music is definitely not for everyone and will not click for everyone at first, but once it does, you are in for a new world of musical possibility and taste. Everything from the production, to the lyrics, to the vocals is other worldly and transcendental. Bjork in her time pathed the way for many artists. People like Elton John, Michael Jackson, Madonna, Hayley Williams, Arca, and even Travis Scott have all been inspired by from one way or another by Bjork and her music. and My favorite album of hers is her 2004 album, Vespertine, the most beautiful piece of music I have ever listened to. It encompasses every feeling of being in love flawlessly with what I can only describe as "micro-electronic production". If you are considering getting into her music, a good starting point in my opinion is her sophomore album, Post.

id recommend Wasia Project; formed by the siblings will gao (yes, the heartstopper actor) and olivia hardy. im really fond of bedroom-pop, but they have a jazz-y sound along with the pretty vocals and relatable lyrics. their discography currently only consists of seven songs lol but i highly recommend their four-song ep- 'how can i pretend'
my favorites by them are 'impossible' and 'how can i pretend' from the same ep !

My current obsession is Tan Weiwei. She is quite famous in China but I don't think people here will know her. She's really talented, she can sing, dance, rap and do a killer high note (I recommend her performances on Sisters Who Make Waves 3, especially 山海,孤勇者and 玉). She's also got a great personality, besides being a really funny person, she's quite kindhearted based on her reality shows.

My favourite song of hers is 小娟(化名)off her excellent album 3811. (TW: domestic or sexual abuse) ||this song basically discusses the oppression of women in Chinese society, which is apparent from its title: 小娟 is a pseudonym commonly used by victims of abuse, similar to Jane Doe. A lot of vivid imagery and metaphors are used in this song which is apparent from the first verse. One of the most impactful lines (and possibly my favourite line in all of Chinese music) will make little sense in English, but is apparent in Chinese: "奻 奸 妖 婊 嫖 姘 娼 妓 奴 / 耍 婪 佞 妄 娱 嫌 妨 嫉 妒", a list of derogatory words in Chinese that all contain the word 女 for woman, and basically questions the way Chinese is structured to portray women. This culminates in the chorus which speaks for itself: "Erase my name, forget my name / The same tragedy repeats itself / Imprison my body, cut off my tongue / Silently weave my tears into silken clothes" Unfortunately I really don't feel like I'm doing justice for the song explaining this way, because a lot of it hinges on subverting the poetic nature of Chinese, but I hope this analysis has kinda showed you why I love this song a lot||

Some of you will not be surprised about this recommendation as I've not shut up about them 😂 But definitely check out Ber she's currently on tour supporting Sigrid's north american tour. She's got a similar vibe to Sigrid musically, and a similar writing style to Maisie Peters, and has thrown a lot of unreleased stuff on TikTok like Maisie has. She has both bops and more thoughtful reflective sad songs. I really love the energy she brings both to her music, and her live show. Her back story is pretty interesting too, grew up in Minnesota, but lived in Norway for a gap year, and the UK for 4 years of Uni. This has given her a pretty unique perspective on life. She's a really sweet human and her set was so much fun HeartPurple .

Okay no ones prolly heard of them but im going to nominate a band called When Chai Met Toast ( yes the name sounds like a troll ). They have some very soothing songs which i find myself playing on repeat for a long time. They also have songs which are a mix of english n hindi even though theyre mainly a english pop band but hey theyre def worth giving a try . To start with I'd suggest one of their singles , Joy of Little Things .

MARINA also known by her old stage name "Marina & the diamonds" is an indie artist with a vaste range of genres. Every one of her album has a totally different vibe / genre / message. I've known her for a year and she is not particularly underground but she still slays!

I think a beginner should start listening from either Electra heart or Froot album as it is one of her best albums with catchy songs and great vibes overall.

Alright, here we go. I'm gonna start off with the one that's probably of the most relevance here to most people who are mainly interested in pop artists. She's not all that unknown, but I almost never see people talk about her. I'm about the insanely talented Birdy. She has just under 8 million monthly Spotify listeners, so again, not really that obscure, but I did want to put forth a reccomendation that wouldn't be completely ignored by 99% of people here lol. Her cover of Bon Iver's Skinny Love is probably her most famous song, but I would rather share songs that she wrote, as she truly is a wonderful songwriter along with a hauntingly beautiful voice

Next up, is a band I absolutely love to pound the table for and since they are quite obscure, with less than 500,000 monthly listeners on Spotify it seems like the perfect opportunity to talk about one of my favorite bands, The Dø. They are an indie/pop/rock band but what they are proud of is being a band that was never afraid to experiment with different sounds. Recently someone you may have heard of, a pretty small and obscure artist known as Billie Eilish credited The Dø as being an inspiration for her newest album, she even met them backstage when she did a concert in Paris. I'm going to reccomend their live album because it stays on the more pop side of things and I know that's what people here like, but they really are such an interesting and multidimensional band
https://open.spotify.com/album/5TGAFIJ6rwRJokMiaFgWrn?si=8hd82dW1TqydqC0x0Dz0FA&utm_source=copy-link

#

And finally, for something completely different. Billy Strings is a Grammy winning, bluegrass sensation. Rolling Stones has called Billy Strings one of music's most dynamic young stars. However outside of the bluegrass circles he seems to be fairly unknown as he has just over 1 million monthly Spotify listeners. He and his band have become very famous for their jam sessions which feature stringed instruments of all kinds of varieties. If you like bluegrass music, or you're just a lover of stringed instruments, Billy Strings is a must listen.

Ok gonna recommend more than one because i couldn't choose

  1. nobody likes you pat (yes that's the name he goes by, no i'm not trolling 😭)
Discovered him a while back and definitely my new fav artist! My fav songs from him are Songs about you(absolute bop), Maybe money, and Things i wish you said
If you're listening to him for the first time, definitely start with his EP 'spinning' , it's beautiful tayadmire

  2. Allison Leah
She's a Folk-Pop artist and i feel more people should know about her because she has amazing songs 😤 My favourite song by her is What I'm Missing, it's a really pretty song and such a mood lifter. It's also the song which got me into her so i feel that's a good place to start if you want to try out her music! Her latest single I Gave You My Number is also a BOP. Also recommend Fly Home - it has Matilda(by Harry Styles) vibes so if you love that song i feel you're gonna like this one too

I would like to recommend Cimorelli! They are a group of 5 sisters (well used to be 6 but one of them left the band sad) and they post covers of songs as well as original music. They've been a band for more than 10 years now and started off with posting covers but now also release original music. They also post tons of medleys as well! Some of my favourite songs by them are Kills Me Just the Same and Fall Back. I've been a fan of theirs for over 3 years now tayadmire Some of the sisters also post their own music like Lauren. My taste is quite mainstream, still there are two artists that I put forward:

• Laura Marano : Some of you guys might know her for starring in the Disney series, “Austin & Ally” or from the Netflix film, “The Royal Treatment”.
Her discography is mainly pop music and currently has 3 EPs out, which are 1- Me, 2- You, and 3- Us. Songs that I love are Can’t Hold On Forever (My favourite), Breakup Song, Smoke Alarm, Dance With You, Something To Believe In, F.E.O.U. (Fuck Each Other Up), Worst Kind Of Hurt, A Little Closer, and more.

finally my time to shine
I would LOVE to recommend 2 artists in this thread (I'll separate in 2 messages, but both are different projects by the same person)
First one is iamamiwhoami, which is an experimental and audiovisual project led by Swedish musician Jonna Lee and her longtime producer (since her solo career as Jonna Lee way back in 2000s) Claes Björklund, the project started in 2009 with some bizarre videos known as preludes... Many ppl initially thought it was a project linked to names such as Lady Gaga or Christina Aguilera, but in the end it was Jonna Lee all along... In 2010 they released the first 7 songs (b, o, u-1, u-2, n, t and y) that would later be released on the album bounty (which was only commercially released in 2013, but as I said songs were released between 2010 and 2011), and then in 2011 they released the final songs from bounty album ; john and clump, finishing their 1st audiovisual album which is worth the listen!
In 2012 they released the 2nd audiovisual album kin, which by now it's their most acclaimed project by music critics to this day (and considered #4 best audiovisual project, according to this ranking https://www.yardbarker.com/entertainment/articles/the_definitive_ranking_of_every_visual_album/s1__37140956) and features the songs sever, drops, good worker, play, in due order, idle talk, rascal, kill and goods, this album imo is a gem and really worth the listen/watch (spotify link and youtube playlist link can be found in the end of this message)!
In 2014 they released their 3rd audiovisual album BLUE, which is my personal favorite project bc it was the one I found out about their music and instantly fell in love with, all of their albums by far have strong electronic/synthpop, but BLUE is the one most inclined to synthpop and even mainstream pop elements, and the visuals of this album are particularly stunning! This album features the songs fountain, hunting for pearls, vista, tap your glass, blue blue, thin, chasing kites, ripple, the last dancer and shadowshow (PS: shadowshow was the 1st song ever written by Jonna for iamamiwhoami, being featured as an unreleased song in the 2010s live album in concert, which can only be found in yt unfortunately)... BLUE is another album 100% worth the listen!
And after an almost 8 year hiatus, iamamiwhoami came back in 2022 with their 4th project Be Here Soon, which by far is their most experimental project with hints of folk and electronic music, such a beautiful album and very personal for both Jonna and Claes, who became parents recently (Claes in January 2022 and Jonna welcomed her son Bauer in May 2022, approximately a week before the album release in June 3rd) and the album gravitates around the struggles of being an independent artist, the pandemic and also becoming a parent being an artist and how this can be incorporated into their artistry... BHS features the songs don't wait for me, canyon, zeven, i tenacious, changes, flying or falling, a thousand years, thunder lightning, call my name and walking on air and I strongly recommend listening, especially if you are into folklore/evermore by Taylor!
Well, I became a huge fan of iam bc of how innovative they are and how their artistry helped me towards very hard times in my life, I think iamamiwhoami is really underrated and it should be given a chance by everyone who reads this ❤

Tahliah Debrett Barnett also known has FKA twigs is a british-jamaican singer, writer, producer and dancer. I rlly love the amazing vocals this artist has and my fav album of hers is "MAGDALENE" and my fav song is "honda" featuring pa salieu! For someone who is interested in her music I recommend listening to "MAGDALENE" first, it's an amazing eletronic/pop/rnb album! At first I found her songs rlly strange but after more listens she's definitely a grower and she also has an AMAZING voice!

I found out about her a couple of years ago when she performed at a festival last year and then I actually had the honour of interviewing her last year, and she is truly one of the most genuine and lovely musicians i’ve ever spoken to. # charred parcel ~~finally my time to shine~~ I would LOVE to recommend 2 artists in this thread ...

Second artist recommendation is ionnalee, which is a solo project also made by Swedish musician Jonna Lee, but at this time she's the one also 100% in charge of song production so it's even more exciting to see her artistry blooming into all stages of song creation ❤
First album she released was Everyone Afraid To Be Forgotten, after an almost 3 year hiatus between iamamiwhoami's BLUE, this is also (sort of) an audiovisual album and it was very anticipated by iam (and now ionnalee) fans, it has a darker synthpop aspects and it's a must listen! It's also her longest album with 15 tracks, tracklist includes watches watches, joy, work, like hell, not human, temple, samaritan, dunes of sand, blazing, simmer down, here is a warning, gone, memento, harvest and fold... This album is also very special to me bc this was the 1st and only tour (by now, she announced she's trying to book and announce dates in Brazil and in Latam in general again for BHS Tour) she went to Brazil and I attended her concert in August 23rd 2018 and it was MAGICAL, I can securely say that Jonna is such a talented artist and she has such a powerful stage presence, she's mesmerising on the stage btayadmire I'll try to find a video of her in this day, unfortunately my videos are really bad rip
For EATBF Tour she made a kickstarter in early 2018, and when she reached a certain point she promised a new album for 2019... This happened, so she released the album Remember the Future... Unfortunately this album was her first and only non-audiovisual project, but it doesn't make it less amazing - Her music video for Open Sea, the lead single, is one of the best of her career imho... This album features the songs open sea, wipe it off, some body, matters, islander, remember the future, crystal, race against, silence my drum, mysteries of love and i keep, definitely worth a listen!
And fun fact: Mysteries of Love was co-produced by Norwegian duo Röyksopp, she toured with them in 2016-2017 and performed with them at Coachella in 2017!
And finally, she released an isolation album with unreleased tracks she already sang it before during concerts called Kronologi, released a live album called Konsert and some non-album singles between 2020-2021... Kronologi features the tracks shadowshow (kronologi version), u, down by the lake, telesvar, long ; john, mouth's open sea, violent playground, summer samaritan, the deadlock, paramount, swallow and dive, and the singles are Machinee + Anywhere i Roam and sommaren är min och jag kommer tillbaka (her first Swedish song) + summer never ended the damage was all mine, which are all amazing songs and worth the listen!

An artist I’d recommend is Derivakat!!! I love her music and it was actually based on minecraft stories (lol the Dream SMP) but her music is fantastic. It’s really poppy but she does a lot of the production by herself which is super cool!!! I’ve not seen her live, but she just performed at Twitchcon today and she streamed it on her channel!! You wouldn’t even realize she’s singing about Minecraft which I love, because then a wider audience can enjoy it!

this is my favorite album of hers: https://open.spotify.com/album/6ks45W8ykLFRr1lgoUj9mW?si=IkK0ffdLRo2Xn7B4z4jOaA

and this is one of my favorite songs from her!!! https://open.spotify.com/track/42kUY2Cvl9Fy9ccg30dx0j?si=d15YO4xJTPKZ4exGuJMAMQ

I am recommending a second artist because I love them.

MALINDA is a singer from America. She has a large following on TikTok as well as YT where you might know her "Google Translate Sings" videos. But there is more to her than that. She posts many covers of songs, both traditional and modern, but often with either a Celtic or Old Folk twist. Her voice is absolutely haunting and a pleasure to listen to. She can also play her own instruments - most of them traditional.

She also releases her own songs and has one album and several singles/eps. Her own music is quite modern but with Celtic/Folk/Irish influence. Her personality is just as enjoyable as her singing and she is humorous and sweet. I highly recommend her for people who love Indie-Folk music. It's worth checking out her YouTube and TikTok as well.

An artist I love listening to is Griff. She released her mixtape One Foot In Front Of The Other last year and it has some really nice songs on it imshy. My favourites are probably Shade of Yellow and Walk. She also released a song with Sigrid earlier this year tayadmire. One thing I really respect about her music is that a lot of it is written and produced solely by her. Oh, and she’s has a shoutout from Taylor tayomg https://open.spotify.com/album/6CR4ozv4yOdaA3f6PPQepA https://open.spotify.com/track/6QLNcOI6YCqdLAS6GLWXMj

An artists I'd recommend is Marie-Mai. She's a French-Canadian singer songwriter from Quebec who I discovered when I was in French Immersion in 5th grade. Her older stuff is more pop-rock with an electronic flair, while her newer stuff is more chill electro-pop. I think that people who like "reputation" will also like her music. I recommend her albums "Miroir", "M" and "Elle et Moi".

Her name is Mali-Koa and she's from Australia! She has Maori/Scottish heritage but currently lives in England. She made it through several levels of "The Voice" here, and although she didn't win, she has immense talent and writes beautiful songs. Her voice is amazing.

She has one album and several singles/eps. Her latest release is a single called "Higher Than Before". My favourite songs from her are, "Get it wrong" and "Shoebox". I suggest her to people who like Amy Shark, Only The Poets, IV Dante or just slow pop in general.

Idk if someone already mentioned this but here it goes. Conan Gray. period just right there. Tay send him white horse Taylor’s version before it came out and then he proceeded to make a tiktok with Olivia about the song which was iconic. he is also best friends with Olivia and have the same producer (Dan Nigro). anyways he has 2 albums out the first one (kid crow) is where the iconic heather(single) is from. that album as bops and its produced super well. Superache (album) is literally sooo goood it as both slow and pop songs. He also as singles and one EP which I really recommend. the song I fell in love with is called Look Alike on hes EP. He’s lyrics are a combination of everything from Taylor Swift, Lana del Rey, Lorde, and Adele.

#

Another artist I would recommend with more of a pop/produced songs but also with some slow and depressing songs is Maisie Peters. she recently put out 3 singles which are 2 (Blonde and Rockstar) songs inspired by “picture to burn” and “should’ve said no” but like in a good mood/funny. The other song is called Good Enough which is produced my Dan Nigro. It’s beautifully sang. She is part of the TCU (Taylor Cinematic Universe) becuase she goes on tour with Ed Sheeran. Anyways beside she has 1 album 1 ep. her concepts and idea are super unique. btw she is from UK.

#

Last paragraph for today is for the only and only Gracie Abrams. She is also part of the TCU. She went to Taylor’s house on her birthday and is very connected to tay and her friends. She has also one album and one ep. Her album is the saddest thing ever LITERALY so depressing but a mood. and her ep is also depressing but not that depressing but still iconic. I recomend I miss you I’m sorry of the ep (stay) and feels like of the album This is what is feels like.

I lied I have one more paragraph to write. I’ll make this one shorter hehe. She is called Ashe and recently released a new album called rae. She kinda blew up between 2020-2021 on tiktok with the song Moral of the Story. I believe she is a swiftie just like the others I mentioned. She has 2 albums rae and Ashlyn. Ashlyn is just iconic and so very well written and produced. Sadly she does not have ep but has multiple singles between the albums (not from the album) and also before the first album. I didn’t listen to the new album bc I’m a fake fan 🫢🫢 but as soon as I have time I’ll recomend song from there.

This was a great listen! I love her smoky and expressive voice on these songs and she delivers some beautiful melodies. I also love the production on songs like "Shade of Yellow", "Heart of Gold" and "Remember My Dreams". A mix of lush synth-scapes and more minimalist, lo-fi songs makes this a perfect album to just put on and vibe to. Also I looked it up and apparently she wrote and produced some of these songs entirely by herself, which makes me love this even more. Definitely adding it to my library.

Currently listening to Tove Lo's Sunshine Kitty album and all I can say is; she is just amazing me. Yeah if you only know Tove from her pop break out song "Habits." She will just be a one hit wonder who faded into the shadows with the rest of her music credentials. However, after 3 long years of never even listening to her at all. It feel very good to finally embrace her sound, music, and style. My favorites from Sunshine Kitty as I'm still listening are: Glad He's Gone, Bad as the Boys, & Mistaken (which is later in the album but I knew about it from one of my friends when she used to play Lo all the time.) Lo's style, vocals, and lyrical values all resemble artists I listen to already like; Allie X, Jaira Burns, & even a little of Alessia Cara in a sense of some songs Lo presents. I really can't believe after her song Habits I never played her other music. I really hit the fan with that. But now I appreciate her a lot more now.

So, I'm currenty listening to the EP Sad Songs In A Hotel Room, and they are really sad, like for real. Despite of the sadness, his voice sounds like velvet, the lyrics are relatable and I love the acoustics, especially in Smoke Slow, which gives me Ed Sheeran/Niall Horan vibes. I perceive all of the songs of this EP are like so transparent and vulnerable. I'm really enjoying the EP, since right now I'm home alone, I feel like I can listen to it whenever I'm alone , like anywhere, and I'd feel less alone. Okay, the last song All In Due Time is just 😭 like, lyrically great! I'll give him an oportunity to the rest of the discography for sure.

I listened to the EP by nobody likes you pat that you mentioned! I really loved nouns (it's all good) and better than. I super felt like I could relate to both, with nouns being how I feel about life in general, that you don't need to be super rich and have all the things society says you should have as long you have the things that make you happy. And better than made me tear up in the same way that Forever Winter did the first time i heard it, like these are the things I need to hear when i'm at my lowest and i am so lucky that the person i'm with cares about me and can help me through difficult times

Even though it is much shorter than other traditional albums, I can tell that the quality of each song she produces is really high and a lot of effort has been put into each song :) I added some songs to my long list of pop(ish) / bops that I like to hit play on whenever I’m in the mood to listen to anything and wanna dance and vibe to so I’m glad I got some new additions to my usual playlist! listened to all her songs including the album and I really liked them! tayomg

falling asleep at the wheel is definitely my favourite out of all of them. such a vibe plus the melody, production, and lyrics are all amazing. the song reminds me of green light by lorde but better. btw I can't stop playing it on repeat, send help. oh and her voice is great. my other faves were scarlett, the walls are way too thin and drop dead - loved these four a lot. I also really liked friendly fire, thursday, sleep tight and london is lonely. I'll definitely continue listening to her tayadmire

I'm so glad you enjoyed bounty btayadmire bounty is one of my favorite albums (all artists), I can't really rank all iam albums bc I love them all so much... I would recommend listen to kin next, the sound is kinda close to bounty (and the visuals are the best, it definitely adds a lot to the storytelling)... And I love o and y so much, I also love ; john a lot (actually it's my favorite iam song, of all albums) tayadmire And yes, Jonna Lee is a great songwriter and storyteller (especially considering English isn't her 1st language), so happy to see more ppl liking her (and Claes) art btayadmire
And for future releases, maybe it will take some time bc they will go out on tour for 'Be Here Soon' album next year and Jonna just had a son, but I would say to keep an eye on her solo project ionnalee bc maybe she'll release a new album (or an EP) in the near future, maybe even next year or 2024 tayadmire

Listened to the EP 'idk it's complicated' by SHYE today and i loved it!! This is exactly the kind of music i want to listen to while doing my homework/studying (i actually checked out the ep while doing my maths homework tayyes). Wasn't really paying attention to the lyrics but happened to glance at them during 'build a life' and i really liked the line, "And then I trust fall into every single beautiful mistake" tayadmire . My favourites are phonecase, legally illegal and build a life. Don't have the time today but will definitely check out the whole discography soon tayrelieved

Oh I just listened to this album. I just clicked on the link with curiosity since you're a reader (mb I thought readers have the same taste as me XD). As soon as I heared the first track I love the drum lol. Their songs are so drummy ... I would say...?
And I like Lions Roars, LightHouse, Sweet Tangerine. I think the first track is my fav and I prefer male voice than females. I can see why you liked it so much when you're young. 😁
I'm glad I found a new band by you. And thank you for recommending. I've saved the artist. I'll try their other album laster. 💜

This artist was really fun to listen to! I listened to her album love letter today, and I will definitely have to check out more music from her. My favorite from the album was running, I felt like it was very unique and so so so underrated. My second favorite has to be surrender, I liked the slow first part and then the build up to the more upbeat. and for my third favorite I gotta say fearless, I loved the more upbeat style and it reminded me of Taylor because well, fearless tayadmire This artist was great and I will be adding her to my playlists!

Hi Diana! I decided to listen to this because I loved the way you described her songs having the dreamy vibe. I absolutely love this genre and I am so so glad I decided to listen to the ep- where are you? It was just gorgeous and the production was flawless. I am surprised why she hasn’t blown up yet. The song offspring is probably my favourite and once again ty for the rec. I really loved and have added her songs to my playlists ❤️
