#Food, Dining and Drink Feedback

  1. Food : It could be nice to have an option to choose which leftovers to pick on the fridge.

It happens from time to time that it takes time instead of being simultaneous to open the cooking option board on the fridge/oven/cooking book. While I’m waiting for the list/board from cooking options to load, it freeze without showing the options and the game crash. Maybe having a new option, another board with less cooking options to pick up could help?

  1. Drink : Sometimes sims are not waiting for their drink at the bar and forgetting about it.

  2. Dining : It could be nice that sims would prefer indoor or inside dining table/couch/etc to eat while there’s a pool when there’s bad weather outside and winter time.

  3. Dine out, owning a restaurant : Everything takes forever from my experience. The employees are taking too long to do their tasks or freezing, specifically the servers. The clients are getting up/away from their table. The servers are standing there doing nothing while it’s a rush and even when there’s a few clients only. There’s a lot of freezing interactions for the staff. The overall experience for every clients is taking hours. I feel like I’m more waiting than playing when I’m owning because of the bugs and freezing.

4.1 Dine out, eating at restaurant experience : I’ll play tomorrow on a vanilla fresh save and get back here.

Thanks a lot for taking our feedback!! 💚

Hi there, sorry in advance for my english, it's not my main language:

  • maybe more base game dishes ? It feels a little bit empty, we have soooo many dishes IRL
  • we have special food for cats and dogs, maybe for infants / toddlers too ?
  • also more soft drinks, like juices. If I remember well, with the blender we only have 1 portion, could be cool to have more options for the drinks and more portions, like the tea
  • in one of my save, I have a closed kitchen, and most of the time my sims eat in the kitchen and not at the table like most of the time, idk if it's a bug or not
  • could be reaallllyyy cool to have a more immersive experience with the coffee: we have the barista job for the teens but i would love it to be a "normal" job, maybe a skill ? It's pretty complicated to be a good barista irl lol, and the coffee shop experience in game could be more fun, we can have a coffee shop with Business

And don’t worry about your English. Some words were used incorrectly but I was completely able to understand what you meant! 🫂 It’s a hard language and you’re doing great!

Right?! It's the most common type of job for a restaurant! 😂

# fresh scroll Same. It's very much needed, I just want to keep expectations reasonable. ^-^

same like my unreasonable hopes would be seeing a refresh that adds in a new aspiration under either the food or popularity category for restaurant ownership (like 'own a 5 star restaurnt' how we have that for B&H with a small bsuiness), adding inactive serving jobs (i do feel that an active one could get redundant fast whereas an active chef career could be fun), adding restaurant types (fast food vs sit down; fancy vs casual), updating the menu options to include more of what's in the game and more restaurant specific foods... like obviously that's a lot and i dont expect it but. one can dream XD

  1. Walk-by sims always use the grill to make large servings. Is it possible to make them more likely to make one serving?
  2. [CoL] Can jam be eaten together with bread or other plain bakery, or can jam be used as an ingredient in more sandwiches and be consumed that way?
  3. All tea sets should provide a consistent menu. Different drink trays should make the drinks they offer more obvious in the description, and we should be able to purchase single cups through the fridge.
fresh scroll
#

Especially that jam one. I second that. Jam and honey should be able to be put on bread and eaten. And while we're at it, Sims should be able to make fresh bread. The normal kind. XD

Food :

  • I was a bit disappointed when I bought Home chef hustle. I was dreaming of my Sims using the cooking robot instead of the cutting board during a recipe like we had in The Sims 2. But I found the new system of food preparation tiring. Why does my Sims have cookie dough in its inventoy instead of an interaction on the robot like “put the preparation in the fridge” ?
  • Could we please have have a cultural filter on the recipes list when “cooking”. I have Sims of many different cultures and it’s sometimes tiring to sort what they like to eat in the long list. Still I wish we had even more recipes and more different cultures represented in the food list. We have French pastries but not that much European classic recipes you can eat other times of the day.
  • Why does the harvestable vine tree look like everything but a vine tree ?
  • Could we please have our Sims being able to make flour, sugar and butter by themselves to complete the off-grid options please.
  • Please, please, could we please have a real toaster and maybe a Thermomix ?
#
  • When we just want our Sims to buy their groceries in person, we can go to Henford on Bagley or if we want to shop in our Sims own world we have to put the Henford stand on a community lot. Could we please have a basic grocery shop stand we could add on any community lot in any world or maybe even better : grocery store items !
  • Could we please have more ingredients : zucchinis, cabbages, pastas (could be made with the chef robot), vanilla, oranges, mangos, …
  • I’d like my Sims to be able to cook their own infant/toddler food (maybe with the chef robot or mixer). They could cook healthy food, off-grid food, instead of ready-made or industrial food for their little ones.
  • I’d like my Sims to reheat the leftovers in their fridge if clicking the microwave.
  • I have a small mod made by LittleMsSam which add a choosing menu when clicking “take leftovers” on the fridge and it’s a life changer.
  • Could we please have a functional cookie pot in which we could place home made cookies (or bought one) for kids to grab ?
#

Drinks :

  • I know that we can serve a tray of drinks with the world globe bar but we can’t do it with a classic bar. It would be great when using the bar to be able to serve several drinks on a tray for our Sims guests.
  • Could we please have more drink vending machines for community lots please !
  • Could we have a nespresso coffee machine please ?
#

Dining :

  • Could we please have new table napkins when Sims set the table. I need new and less vivid colors…
  • I use a mod to have my sims priorizing seating at a table to eat and not standing or else so there is a issue there with no mods.
#

Dining out :

  • Could we please have an active chef career compatible with owning his own restaurant ?
  • Could we please have the possibility to own a bar like we do for restaurants ?

When sim eat together and you want them to talk, they stop eating, get up, hug (no sense at all) and then talk. I would like them to talk while being seated like in the sims 2 and like any dinner party in real life. Instead they just eat in silence and if you ask them to talk they get up

#

Seconding the suggestion:

  • Sims being able to make flour, sugar, and butter
  • having actual grocery store lot
  • more ingredients

Also, would love to see different fruit bowls, such as bowl of apples and that might have 8 servings and use 8 apples to make.

I wish sims wouldn’t make a beeline for the bar to immediately order a $40 drink when they only have $50 to their name. Maybe a check on autonomous spending when the bank account is low?
Or I don’t know, maybe for some people that’s part of the fun.

I want to add for Dine Out :
In the Sims 2 you could hide the engagement ring in the champagne glass to ask a Sims to marry. Could we please have that back and maybe more specific interactions while seating together.
I might have to test it again but I remember you could also have your date taste your food or dessert but can't remember if this was Sims 4 or Sims 2...

#

I like my Sims gathering and dining together. It's just really hard at the moment. I would like to see the following improvements:
-when cooking a group meal, no autonomous grab a plate right after it's ready. I want them all grab a plate together so that they will eat at the same time
-if I call Sims to meal, please make it so everyone will be able to get a serving. Now there is a big chance someone will come near the meal but for some reason won't take a plate. If it's unplayed Sim it's really hard to get them grab a serving after it fails. I should call everyone to meal again... Which means it will que the interaction for everyone again, even the ones that already got their food.

#

-Sims taking a seat and staying seated ! during dining together would be cool. Also without Parenthood placement things.
-removing Parenthood greetings while seated would help a lot. Now seated, eating Sims will first get up and hug etc. if I start the conversation and then they have to again find their plate and find a seating which is frustrating and time consuming.
-no autonomous clean the dishes if a Sim is dining with and talking to someone else. This will interrupt the dining experience too soon, since the first Sims ready will get up and start cleaning.
-You shortened the eating time at some point. I think it's ok when a Sim is eating alone but when they dine together I hope it would be more than 3 bites so there would be more time to talk etc.

#

-could be worth considering a new interaction to get Sims dine together more smoothly without the need to micromanage everything.

#

-I also hope it would be easier to get Sims drink together especially with unplayed guests. I hope there would be a way to call guests to drink or serve a drink for them with all tea & drink trays, coffee & tea machines etc. and also Horse Ranch wine. I can pour the wine for two but I couldn't figure how to get an unplayed quest Sim to drink it with ny Sim 🤷‍♀️

Yesterday I played a game running a restaurant. What seems difficult?
🙈my active Sim can't help clear the queue at the entrance.
🙈New guests are sitting at other Sims' tables despite empty tables,
🙈some guests aren't being served, and as the owner, I can't take orders or serve the dish.
👍 when I recommend a dish to customers, I should take their order immediately, rather than having the guests wait for a waiter.
👍It would be great if the owner could perform every interaction related to the restaurant: show them a table, take orders, cook, and serve. (especially if it was possible to send a cook or waiter on a break and replace him) That would make things much easier and would be a nice change.
👍It would be great if there was an option, like in B&H, to live above the restaurant,
👍and also hire Sims from the household and contact list

twilit coral
#

Reading others proposition I want to add : when several Sims are hungry and have to use the fridge in turn they can't because if one Sims is using it or is going to every other Sims actions will be canceled with the sign that the way is blocked. Could we please have a queue option so the action won't be canceled just postponed ?

My whislist for the game

  • We should be able to hire Sims we already know (friends/family) for our restaurants, just like the recruitment system in Businesses & Hobbies.
  • Allow restaurant owners with sufficient skills to act as the Chef using an automated task system modeled after Businesses & Hobbies.
  • For lots with the Simple Living trait, the 'Cook' menu UI should be reorganized to prioritize and group all recipes with available ingredients at the top, moving recipes with missing ingredients to the bottom.
  • Add more specific food Likes and Dislikes, such as "Sweets" or "Fish", to trigger relevant moodlets and social reactions.
  • Add more ingredients to produce, specifically Sugar, and expand the overall variety of available recipes in the game
  • Add more small appliances like Toasters, stand-alone Airfryers, and a wider variety of Mini-Fridges.
  • Sims should automatically trigger the "Call to Meal" interaction upon finishing a dish if other household members or friends are on the lot.
  • The cook should wait for all guests to be served before starting their own plate to ensure social cohesion.
#
  • When gifting food to a Sim on their home lot, the recipient must automatically consume it immediately and trigger a preference pop-up (likes/dislikes).
  • Strictly block fridge access for any Sim not part of the active household. (On residential lots)
  • Guests should trigger a notification when hungry instead of stealing food: "I’m feeling a bit peckish, could I have a snack?". (On residential lots)
  • Guests must be prohibited from touching the fridge while a resident is actively preparing a meal. (On residential lots)
  • Add a "Cook for 7" option and a "Separate into Portions" button for large family meals.
  • Sims should be free to perform other tasks while a dish is in the oven instead of just standing there.
  • Prevent Sims from interrupting a meal to brush their teeth or perform other hygiene actions.
  • Sims must stay seated while eating and remain seated throughout the entire restaurant experience (no more musical chairs!).
  • Enable the "Order for Group" interaction on all food stalls, matching the current bar mechanics.
#
  • Add a specific "Help to Eat" interaction for toddlers to ensure they actually finish their plates.
  • Expand high chair menus and fix the bug where parents remove toddlers before they finish eating.

Hi! Not sure if this has been reported before or if it's just me, but I've been experiencing an issue with my restaurant. When my sim tries to clean empty plates they keep picking them up and putting them back down repeatedly before either finally cleaning them or canceling the action entirely leaving me to manually move the dirty dishes to the trash bin

light path
#

👍I agree with the suggestion to add the ability to grow grain (the mechanics are the same as with wild prairie grass).
👍 add a milling device and enable flour production, the same with sugar beets. All you need is a new plant and a device to process it into sugar, maybe oranges to produce juice.
👍 the ability to independently produce medicine (GTW) from herbs.
👍 the ability to make food for babies and small children in a blender.
👍more dishes, including soups and desserts. - a wider selection of holiday meals.
👍 the ability to invite everyone for tea, coffee, milk, juice, or a soft drink. 👍 the ability to make a toast while sitting at the table using a specific drink. -
👍active snack objects with the option to help yourself (like the cake plate from the latest collection).
👍and the addition of the "invite to a treat" option, because now only active Sims can eat cake from the plate.

Regarding dine out, I would really and absolutely love if my sim (the owner) and sims from the household could WORK at the restaurant... like the owner is a cook... why can't they be the one cooking at HIS restaurant? I hate that we can't... thats my most dissapointed thing about that pack. And yes, we have B&H now but its nothing like owning a real restaurant with menus. I'm using the dine out mod but i would love to not have to use a mod for that... For real, I love that pack, I love that we are able to go to res, to own a rest... but i hate that we can't work there... in any way... Also... would love to be able to have a restaurant in my household's lot but i know thats not possible :c but at least I would LOOOOVE to have my sim being the cook T-T and sims from my household to be able to work there.

#

Also, can you add a "choose leftover" option?, again... there's a mod for that, but I would love to have the option ingame without mods...

is there a way to stop sims to not go to the toilet to put the plate in that slot? or in any upper shelve with some space for a slot? its so annoying xD and sometimes I have no idea where they put the plate till its smelling bad...

# gritty berry We have flour just no way to make it.

Correct, my comment was in response to another suggestion to add it to the blender, which is not base game nor change living, and that if the prices of making flour is added, that ability needs to be allowed for base game or cottage living

gleaming wedge
#

And I know this could be mayor improvement but as some others said, a Likes/Dislikes about food would be amazing... I kind of hate that there are traits like Vegetarian and Lactose intolerant 'cause i prefer to use more "useful" traits (real character traits) for my sims... like those two are NOT real traits for me, its just a choice of life/medical condition... I know you won't delete those traits 'cause they are even part of packs but something like: like meat food, like fish food, like sweets, like chocolate, like healthy food, or so could be amazing... I'm not asking to add every single plate, but some topics... and when eating something with those topics, the sim feels good or bad (depending on if they like it or not)... again, I know this is a deeper improvement, but I'm throwing my idea here as well as others...

Can't we get regular dining like without owning a resturant and playing the staff in the base game eventually so that dine out can have just the ownership stuff and you know playing the staff and the owner ect

vagrant hare
#

Oh I was also thinking banning certain sims from certain lots manually or controlling who is allowed to show up on certain lots or in certain worlds? It breaks the immersion that the king can come to a run down resturant. And that celebrities often show up and ruin things by distracting sims. I think there are certain places certain sims are more likely to go and places resturants ect they wont go. And lord can we have the ability to build and shop at a real grocery store in game. It drives me nuts that we cant.

Love to be able to have a family meal together - especially with holidays. With sims eating faster, by the time everyone gets there with call to meal the closest are done eating the rest are just starting.
I'd like my sims to eat at the kitchen bar or table when other actions are not queued, but if they are eating and watching TV the going to the couch to eat is OK. They always want the toddler bed, or poolside 1st. They go to where the other sims are to eat.
I've noticed recently, sims stop eating to do another queued activity and are not necessarily doing 2 things at once anymore. For example they will put down the plate, then go watch TV and forget to pick up the plate and finish the meal. Or put down the plate and go paint, the fun activities seem to get priority.
I don't want my sims automatically try to eat the cake I just baked for a birthday and having to make another cake - can cakes be off limits - or give us another non-edible object to celebrate birthdays like some balloons or a gift card they can open up instead. But again - no autonomy on those objects so sims don't accidentally age themselves up.

#

For Dine out - as a restaurant patron - I always add a vending machine when I send my sims to a restaurant because there is no guarantee they will get the food they order and that way they can at least eat at the venue. They also will sit and stand, then sit and stand, over and over again which is just weird. Other sims will come join my table for conversations, and there is no way to get rid of them (a no introduction goodbye interaction for this type of thing would be nice in a lot of scenarios) I think some interactions on the host or server sim that will let us ask for meal could potentially help.

#

for dine out as a restaurant owner - i'd love to have my sim who owns the restaurant be able to do more than just welcome people to the restaurant and chat the place up, or give away a free drink. Let them take an order if my server is for some reason just watching the TV in the lounge. Or give me the option to tell the server to stop it and go take orders from customers. Same for the chef. Often the employees are just standing there it's frustrating and not as fun to play. I'd love to be able to hire a family member to cook, act as host, or server. Or if I hire all the roles out to NPCs, then give the ability to direct them to a task or get my sim to do the task. It will make it a lot more fun to run the restaurant.

Flour, grown wheat and mills to grind the flour I feel should be added to the game since garden to kitchen play is emphasized.

The social aspect of dining should default to sims wanting to sit together and speak at tables.

Social groups should sit together. Sims should be intelligent about who they are choosing to sit next to. That’s so important.

2 things for me. I am not to fussy on how sims eat together and all, but I would really appreciate to have chairs dedicated to some sims, like the throne or simple chair around a table... very often in a family each members have their personal chair... now that we can choose the side of the bed we sleep in, why not having the same functionality to chairs. Secondly, I would appreciate if the sims team dedicated some time and efforts on the bug that affect the business panel, where we can't see some businesses (retails, restaurants etc...). I have both retails and restaurants said to be owned from my sims in the world view, but when I go in their respective households, and check the business panel, its like they own nothing... that would be a first to upgrade the experience in restaurant for me... saddly this is a basic and its not working properly. I would hope for a fix that is retroactive to...

I have noticed when I have my sim eating and I queue up the go for run interaction. My sim will go for a run with their food. I would like my sim to finish eating before starting their run.

I would like family dinners to be a thing. You can call to meal but everyone goes everywhere to eat rather than eating together. This extends to dinner parties. The sims don't actually sit at the table to eat, they go all over. A way to have sims formally sit down at the table to eat would be great.

Dine out I feel like the food takes too long to come out. When I go to a restaurant it feels like it is a half a day things for them. Other guests also always come and interrupt my meals way too often.

For sim family's out to dinner, they should eat together. Maybe include a feature where if you see someone your sim is friends with and there is an empty seat, invite them to sit.

For Dine Out gameplay:

  • Allow for more employees. Restaurants should have at least 3 chefs and 4 waiters.

  • Introduce a busboy/dishwasher employee that can be a teen sim.

  • Be able to assign waiters to specific tables, (e.g. best waiter gets picky customers)

  • Make dining experience quicker to be able to make restaurants more profitable.

  • Make Sim able to work in any capacity as needed at the restaurant. As well as household members on lot

  • Hiring should have a catalog of sims available. All playable and npc sims should be hirable. And sims should be able to have multiple jobs as long as the times dont conflict

  • Should be able to order to go/delivery from restaurants by phone

🍽️ putting plates in hard to reach places and then they’re unhappy about their surroundings, plates on the ground? (I mean sure if it’s a picnic or sleepover) but they shouldn’t stay on the ground.
Also would love to see more food choices in general for all ages
boba_cheers funnily enough my sims never really drink anything idk if thats normal they just drank water out of random sinks and too much tea (tea kettles rarely go in my builds now 😅)
Speaking of drinks, and piggy backing off the first question; have you thought of things like smoothies, adding more variety to coffee, build mode items such as a water dispensers on fridges and separate? The ones that have the jug of water you flip over and they’re usually found in offices), energy drinks, juice boxes, soda…
🥞 waiters/waitresses always take forever, lack of food choices, should have drive-up windows, food deliveries would be hilarious like DoorDash, grocery stores (I could go on and on), can you add as many items as you want when dining out?

Speaking of booth seats being huge, we need both smaller booths, and more options for tables. I don't know if it's the same for Dine Out (haven't played with it in a bit since it was buggy), but a corner booth in Batuu doesn't let a larger table snap to it. (Seems odd since it definitely can fit.) This needs to apply to all booths. And maybe curved booths would be nice.

It would also be nice to have seating for Sims that can be designated as "VIP". Like a toggle that the seat is for someone specific (their usual spot), and/or a certain level of celebrity.

Also, for Dine Out and basegame in general, we need more options for locking doors for sims. I have too many sims go back into the kitchen area/break room when it's meant to be locked for employees. It needs to be an available option. (Even when you don't personally own the restaurant.)

#

We also need a basegame version of the cooking machines. You can make them gross and boring looking to encourage people to buy more packs, but I really wish every day items weren't locked behind packs like blenders, waffle makers, popcorn poppers, rice cookers/pressure cookers, in-island ovens/stoves, (Baby changing tables), etc. And please add a toaster, old fashioned bucket butter churner (and an option to make butter with the stand mixer), an option to make whipped cream, a wheat grinder, etc, so we can have ways of making more foods. It'd be nice if what sims could make matched the actual method of making it. (Eggs and toast using a pan and a toaster, etc.)

# bleak oracle Also I think food stalls placed on community lots should automatically have a Si...

Yes! I do this too! It would be so nice if the food stalls I place automatically have NPCs without my Sims having to hire them. Also much needed the ability to buy street food for other Sims. Like how we can order drinks for the group at a bar, can you please make it possible to buy food for the group from food stalls too? I want my Sim to buy little street food for their kids, their friends, their dates, their family, I wish my Sim was able to offer a bite to their loved ones 🥺

fresh scroll

Also, can we broaden some of those stalls? Can we have ice cream stalls/ice cream trucks and shaved ice, turkey legs, etc? It'd be really nice to have some more summery vibes through them. (And maybe hot cocoa/soup in the winter.) ^-^

frail knot

I have two food-related wishes:

  • "Set as dining table" is a no-brainer. Maybe even more options, like "set as outside dining" for when you're grilling, or "set as breakfast table" for those early morning cereal cravings.
  • A shelving item that is stocked with food. Could be used in a home's pantry, a restaurant's storage, or a convenience store. Give it a "buy groceries" function for playability. I would prefer a supermarket game pack, stuff pack, or a kit, but if that's not in the works, just a shelving unit with some different food/grocery swatches would go a long way as well.

Oh yes, and one more thing. Bars should have their own category in game, and should not be under "creativity". There's a billion bars in game, including the base game. Please give them their own category. And maybe add the drink trays and juice making/fizzing/kegs to it as well as one massive drinks category.

I'd love it to be possible to hire family members to work in the Dine Out venues - like you can now with small businesses.

Also I play rotationally and it is frustrating when I have to hire a sim from another family I will play and then find when I get to play them and find they are emplyed in a career track and not as chef in my diner :/
Probably no way round this - but if I could employ household or family that would be manageble in game

grim fable

I would love to see sims (maybe as a trait?) get bored of eating the same thing every day, or have having leftovers for every meal. Or alternately, having a favorite food or category (ie pasta as comfort food to reduce sad moodlets). Maybe excitement about trying out a new recipe. I'd also love an option/preference for reheating leftovers in the microwave. But I'd want these coupled with reduced cook times as well.

#

+1 to having vendors spawn for food stalls placed on community lots! They're pretty useless otherwise.
And +1 to separate category for bars

#

This is maybe more cooking than dining, but cooking with ingredients could use an overhaul, and should have cross pack support for recipes and harvestables

#

There should be a "make yourself at home" option to let you cook at family/friends houses without being told that's rude.

#

Sul Sul.
I'm a bit late but things I'd like changed would be a remade of the dish models so they look better(especially stuff from the cupcake machine not that I think it's remembered) and possibly a better search tagging to find the recipes, like maybe searching if we want to use a specific ingredient?

When it comes to microwaves, I never use them because my sim always gets a horrible moodlet from using them, even when it's something that works well in rl microwaves (like oatmeal). Why would that be bad just because it's microwaved? I do that every morning with excellent result. I would get if the cheapest microwaves gave poor results, but not all of them, all the time. I actually never use microwaves in game for this reason.

And heating left overs is definitely something you should do with microwave. Even making sims annoyed at left overs not being heated when taking it out of the fridge directly (if it's not sallad, sandwich...)

For Dine Out please consider meshing it better with Businesses and Hobbies/Adventure Awaits/Get to Work where you can run both at the same time and they're compatible. There's plenty of things that seem like they should work together, and they don't. If you have one pack, you should be allowed to run both at the same time. Same goes for the lot types from HSY/Growing Together. If you have the packs that have different lot types you should be allowed to have a "multi lot" function where you pick multiple. Like running a business where you can also put all types of furniture in the selling area. All selling tables/types should work together and not be separated if you own all the packs. (That way you can make IKEA-like stores, restaurants, malls, duel stores on one lot, etc.) Food being integrated better as a "selling point" is a great idea, then we could not only make restaurants, but grocery markets/juice and nectar stores as well and wouldn't have to just rely on the stalls that we have. We could essentially make our own/our own grocery stores. ^-^

fading ferry
#

i hope this is not the off topic. the cafeteria item from HSY pack needs improvement on queuing. all sims coming to the same stall at noon is a bit disorganise. sims cutting queue all the time. this is similar as the bar objects when any sims can interact to any drinks/food that came out of the bar even my played sims did not order them. should this be another scandal for cutting queue and steal food from other sims while cutting queue would be called out by another queuer and being kicked out from the service/store in real life?

i like the interaction "getting in line" from [AA] diving board objects. i find it's more organised and i hope this should be implemented to the bar, food stall, secret passage way, ticket kiosk, restuarant host station and any other related objects.

I would just appreciate if we could order a single meal or family size meal of more of the available foods in your game, through the food delivery. I like my sims to order take out, but the options are low and I don’t always want pizza.

Something I would love to see as an option for baked good and other treats is creating single serve options for selling--even an option to "sell as single servings". getting sims to "grab a serving" is always a risk of them just eating the food which makes havin a bakery difficult

For food delivery, I'd love to see cake options that can be used with birthday candles, as it can be tedious to make cakes for all birthdays, esp larger households.

With serving portions, I'd like the option to cook the number of portions of the people in the family, or on lot. So if I have a family of five, I don't have to cook a meal for 8 every time, and if there are more than 8 people on the lot I don't want to have to cook twice in order for everyone to get something to eat.

btw one of the drinks in the Dine Out menus is called 'supports X and X Large walls' its a bug but funny lol

In regards to the ice creams, the HCH update enabled the ability for kids to use the ice cream machine, but since they dont have the cooking skill they cant actually craft any icecreams that require the cooking skill. My idea would be for this to be changed to the creativity skill for children in this case

🥧 Random sims will sit at my sims' table uninvited and take their food/drink if they leave it unattended for a split second. My sim was on a date once and had a glass of nectar that a townie kept trying to drink while my sim was talking to her date no matter how many times I reset them. It was so frustrating.

🥧 Townies will also grab the food/drinks I've ordered at bars and cafés before I can even get to them, so then I have to order multiple times and wait longer. I'm tired of having to fight with randos for the food and drinks I paid for whenever my sims are in public.

🥧 Sims, especially townies (at park or anywhere with a grill), will grill multiple plates of food and leave them out to spoil and never clean them up.

🥧 There's no way to grill smaller portions of food enough for one sim so I end up never using grills.

🥧 Sims should have favorite meals like in previous games. This could be based on flavors they liked as infants to make exploring foods more meaningful.

🥧 There should be more food options available on microwaves, vending machines, and the zoomers food delivery service because the current options are very limited.

I thought of adding a barbecue in my sims garden but hate when they autonomously go grill something in mid winter... so I thought maybe we could just have a "forbid for.../allow for" option on cooking appliances like fridge/waffle machine/barbecues like we do on computers and doors so we can control when and who can use those.

Like someone said before. Guests tend to cook many useless meals so locking the fridge for Sims outside household could help

More healthy food is needed for toddlers in high chairs. My toddler was hungry when his nanny was in the house and asked for food, she served him crackers for lunch, then he had an angry moodlet from too much sugar the rest of the afternoon. If this was just a crappy nanny it might have been funny, but literary she has no other option other than sandwiches. All other food in the high chair is desert/snacks. I know this is an American game but not even in the US can you honestly serve chips to a hungry toddler????

Well pasta carbonara is frequently served in France too. Like lasagna bolognese.
For French food I can try a list of common food.
And it would start with breakfast : bread, butter and jam is more common than croissants (which is more of a Sunday treat).
Other French common recipes not yet in the game : mashed potatoes with fish "meunière", pasta with salmon, salmon and spinach lasagna, steak and fries, ham sandwich, peas and carrots with chicken , green beans with rosted pork, couscous, sauerkraut (choucroute for us), cassoulet, carrots soup, leeks soup, pumpkin soup.
Pizzas recipes more common here : ham and mushrooms, ham onions and cream, goat cheese and bacon.

Sims eating: mostly fine for me but it can be suuuuper slow at times. Like why does it need to take 1hr for one plate to be eaten? And then they often delay it further by deciding to talk to someone 😭
Sims drinking: drinks are THE most pointless thing in the game! Coffee gives a smidge of energy but the rest just give a happy moodlet… lame. We need them to get tipsy or have an actual need for drinking!
Dine out/dining experience: unlike most people, I find dine out to work fine. My only complaint is they need to stop dropping the food tray so often, it happens almost 50% of the time which is ridiculous

#

Just to add to this incase you are still seeking feedback, I think it would be great if Sims microwaved leftovers - just because it feels weird that Sims are eating cold meals that would be disgusting cold.

But it can be opt in - eg. If you don't own a microwave, nothing changes. If you do, Sims will use it. Otherwise they can become a very pointless appliance that only gets used in rare scenarios.

Thanks team!

#

I have been playing with Dine Out a little bit to think of any other feedback that isn't "please redo this from scratch" but instead falls within the realm of improving/tuning.

I think earning a 5 star plaque or something to display on your restaurant would be a nice touch, getting 5 stars can be a little underwelming. Just something that pops up in your Sims inventory would be nice.

I also don't know how much it is possible, but if you remember how things like Fishing and Bowling would disable autonomy to an extent, it would be great to see if being at a Restaurant did the same. Outside needing to Pee, Sims shouldn't be interested in anything else outside staying and eating their food and talking to the people on their table.

But I think the only other thing it needs is just tightening and tuning to make it the best it can be.

#

One more thing - I do see a lot of people noticing that trying to maintain everyones weight in large families can be hard when leftovers are concerned - I think it would be a great option if in gameplay options that state "Disable weight changes for Sims" or something. There's been some fairly heated exchange's about body types etc. and I think it's a fair option that not everyone wants to constantly be worried about their Sims getting too large, too thin etc. because of what they eat simply because in The Sims it can happen in such a short length of time too.

I think people also get a bit sensitive on it as managing their Sims weights can have relate too much into real life and some people may prefer not having to worry too much about it for their virtual people!

#

To add onto that despite it not being related to food, It falls into the same category of the game changing your Sims physical appearance despite having them set up in a specific way, if we can disable Sims autonomously shaving or something in the settings, my bearded Sims are all going fresh faced without me asking and it can ruin things for me - even if I disable settings in CAS. Can be quite the annoyance.

#

I think 100% the best solution would be to make it a little slower to put on/lose weight, but also allow us to disable that as a thing in settings so our Sims weight aren't always something we have to worry about/maintain as players 🙂 Thanks Morgan for hearing us!

#

I think it makes sense for us to be able to designate the "preferred dining table" as we go. So being able to click on a table means Sims will flock to that first (like they already do if we set the table). I don't think its the worst thing in the world if Sims accidentally go to the wrong table because you forgot to set it. But its worse if Sims flock to your Sims bedroom for thanksgiving. If I forget to assign the right table, thats my bad.

Not sure how you would manage counter seats, I suppose smaller or quick meals could default to those if there and main meals are at the dinner table. Or any other seating area acts as an overflow outside the tables. Maybe the GTW "set for sale" aspect could be reused where we can tag where we want Sims to sit like "designate dining spot" or something. Will leave that for you guys to work out but some kind of assignment would be amazing!

I don't know if this was already mentioned, but please move the "open" selection to the front of the pie menu when clicking on a fridge. It would make it so much easier to pick what I want to drag out the fridge if it's at the forefront. I play with autonomy on and this would cut down on the amount of pausing I have to do just to get my sim to access food in the fridge without worrying about them autonomously doing something else.

☕"Invite for a drink"

# proud glade Please fix the autonomy for the waffle, stand mixer and pizza oven. Sims who are...

I love that sims don’t have to stand there and watch the food cook for the Home Chef Hustle appliances! Honestly I wish the stove was like this too - who stands around watching their chicken bake the entire time? But I do wish the autonomy took into account the knowledge that food is coming / included the ability to collect the result. I want my sim to run to the bathroom or set the table or feed the baby while the pizza cooks, not grab a sandwich from the fridge. And in Adventure Awaits and Businesses & Hobbies, I’d love to be able to use these, but currently sims will only start pizzas/waffles, never collect or eat them.

RE: Pizza ovens and how these items relate to NPCs

I had an issue with Guidry on one of my haunted house residentials where he would just obsessively cook. I was constantly cleaning up after him and when I added a pizza oven to the lot he started making pizza and leaving it in the oven to go bad. It was just an endless and frustrating cycle whenever any ghost not in my household was on my lot, but Guidry especially. He'd even start making something, stop, then start making a new thing--it was genuinely so disruptive.

I personally don't mind my played sims cooking in their own home autonomously when hungry, but there definitely needs to be some tuning on it with NPCs not just for the pizza oven. The amount of chickpea mac n cheese and garden salads i was tossing (and my lot had the simple living trait so it was also just wasting the groceries)

Also, one of my biggest annoyances is my sims deciding to go grab food or cook a meal or something autonomously, but I cancel it, and they immediately choose to do the exact same thing autonomously again. I don't even get enough time to order another sim to go do it, before they will select the same thing autonomously again, making them constantly be in the way at the fridge, and making the sim I actually ordered to cook drop the task because they can't reach the fridge. Can you make it so sims don't autonomously choose to do the exact same thing after I cancelled it? I cancelled the action for a reason. This basically applies to all actions, but is most prevalent and annoying with eating (preparing food included) and sleeping. I tell them no eating or sleeping right now, and they are almost eating or in bed again by the time I'm able to select what I di want them to do.

That is actually a really good general autonomy point, and I agree. If I just canceled an action, it’s really annoying when the sim re-queues it seconds later.

I hope the table mechanic would be optional. I love when my sims eat together on the sofa or join the other person who may be sitting in the bedroom or outside.

I hope this one is not off-topic. It's not about the during the dining itself but it's about cleaning up later. Here are my feedback and not-so-seamless experience on washing dish / load dishwasher so far:

  • Occur very often: There's some occasion when sims put an empty plate to somewhere they can't collect to clean up all at once later. Such as a rounded table object, a half wall trim, a sink, a top of a bar object when putting against the wall (like a functional bar back), etc.
  • Occur intermittently: There's also some glitch that I just found out it's quite a long term bug when sims will cancel "load dishwasher" interaction if there's a cabinet on it (especially in an Apartment lot) while workaround is not move around in BB mode, switch to live mode and move them back in BB again. Sometimes, sims ended up using sink instead even I successfully order sims to load dishwasher.

Here's a fun one: Parenthood comes with 4 drinks, right? I didn't know that until I was doing a Dine Out menu. They should be more visible so players know they exist!
Also, on the theme of autonomy, probably already been mentioned but I'm really sick of sims starting a meal and leaving it. When they or another sim decide to cook, they ignore the cuttingboard or pot (pots are particularly a problem in San Myshuno's central park, they just accumulate on the stove) and start a new dish.

🍹🍸🥃🍷When it comes to food and drink, I'm annoyed by the assumption that every Sim needs a bar in their home to have a drink.

🙈Most bars are 2 or 3 squares large and don't fit every interior.

🥳It would be great if the same interaction: "make a drink" could be performed using a refrigerator or kitchen cabinet.

🥳Alternatively, you can add a small object, such as a few bottles, which can be placed on a kitchen counter or table, which will have a "make a drink" option.

🙈Currently, before every party, I buy the smallest bar from the event, struggle with where to put it, and then sell it after the party...

🙈There's also a problem with completing the "drink 3 times, etc..." goal at parties.

🙈You can't invite Sims for drinks.

🙈You have to serve each one individually—which takes a lot of time, Sims get distracted, leave their drinks on the counters, and the goal doesn't count...

#

🥳It would be fantastic if decorative objects placed on kitchen cabinets didn't prevent cooking.

🙈Sometimes there's a small object on top of a cabinet, leaving a lot of space, and Sims can't use it... This makes it difficult to create an aesthetically pleasing kitchen, especially in small apartments.

☕Objects like coffee makers, tea makers, ice cream makers, popcorn makers, microwaves, food processors, blenders, and kettles take up the entire cabinet space. It would be fantastic if decorative objects could be placed next to each other (without moving objects) or if these appliances could be placed closer together. If we want to have several such appliances in the house, we need a huge kitchen, especially since cooking on such a countertop is impossible.

You can already “trick” the game by using MOO and raising items with the 9 key to make the counter stay accessible and even though it isn’t perfect, it sets the expectation for the player that what they are doing is “outside of expected behaviour” and so they shouldn’t be confused if a sim won’t cook there

As feedback, it would be easier if the sims made it more clearer that there is no accessible area to cook in. I think they just place them on the ground if there isn’t anywhere

So a few thing after playing again after some time.

  • fixing the weight gain from leftover considered apparently as junk food for lets play like off the grid simple living when using this a lot its just horrible.

-there is a problem witht he half wall sims really get out of their way to put stuff food drink dirty plate on half wall even at the other side of the lot when there is counter on table right next to them, what is this obsession. i think a solution would be if possible to simply stop sims from autonomously put anything on top of half wall themself so we still would be able for those of us if there is that use halfwall to put decoration on we still could us player in build mod but sims couldnt, that would be good, cause even the half wall that sims would never be able to reach without a ladder they still do its a nightmare lol

-Thinking about the sims autononomy eating standing or anywhere but table i read a bit of the back and forth, and yes it need adressing, i tink already push simms to sit would be nice. but i wonder also about the where would they sit question, would it be a solution to the question that been discuss to like prioritize table where sims has put the table where there is the fork plate ect decoration, if there a way to link the autonomy and priority to this it could fix the question i saw about but what about outdoor table for barbecue or breakfast nook etc, that way its just sims prep the table and it would be where they eat then.
i'm am not a fan of the set table option they are all very fancy, and a very simple one liike for exemple just having fork and knive on the table nothing else, could be a great addition that could fit anywhere. but yeah as i look into other demand and ea team thought on this where sims eat question, i had this idea, i dont know if its technically possible but it would be nice

#

-Having a counter sort like the sink, where we got kitchen and bathroom sink, have the same for counter, so sims cook in the kitchen instead or going into the garage or bathroom because there is counter there too. that would be nice huhu

-possibly a change of tag for some food, like almost all cake are in cooking and the barkery dont have much, all cake should be in the bakery category that would be more logical.

  • a light rework of either footprint of object or of slot on counter would be great, because having only one thing on each counter is fine if its a microwave of the pizza oven but for small appliance like tea kettle coffe machine shaker or feww other we should be able to place two of those. not all sims have a crazy huge kitchen where they can have one counter by appliance, so it is quite limiting.

-removing the autonomous automatic grab of serving when a sims has prepared a meal, even if they are not hungry they still do it, i just want my seems to be able to prepare food for event or to sell for exemple etc without always grabing one

-in the same direction and option that would be great for all business would be to have an option to like separate all serving either in the selling food object or in the sims inventory so we can then sell each plate separatly.

#

-oh yes something that has been forgotten and that is so frustrating when playing with simple living. PLEASE give us a way to make floor sugar and other ingredient we need, for the recipe. dont need to be full new object etc even just like new recipe that would let us make batter flour and sugar for exemple, i love playing with simple living but being force to go buy some thing is such a bummer. like we can make cheese that way so wy not the batter and other stuff. please.

related to it in more wish as it would take bit more work but adding grain harvestable like wheat, and cane sugar etc would be great, having a full possibility something that let us play with simple living and be able to do everything without having to buy ingredient. this is what i really wish for

-on other note and comentary i saw some new recipe would be nice, i remember we have one foodstand not sure wich pack but this foodstand has a croissant logo and it doesnt even sell croissant, as a matter of fact i dont think we even have croissant in game, come on, i want my croissant in game, more breakfast like the typical bread with fruit jelly or croisant and hot whocolate breakfast. with all the auropean world we have we dont even have proper breakfast lol i protest 😛

-haveing some food preference in the like and dislike would be great and also having some trait remove and put there would be great like the lactose intolerant or vegetarian

#

Something that never make sense to me is the foodstand i mean if i get one on my residential lot ok i can understand but lets be real we rarely use them there but in community lot, and as such we should be able to place them on any comunitity lot and not have to pay for a vendor to come tend to those, its not logical.
on foodstand related, it would be nice to have like new object that would be like maybe not all foodstand but id say at least some specific one, like the flower shop cake shop maybe the basegame food stand, have new object for those a remesh that would let us integrate them into building, to let us create comunity lot that would have any ambiance and look and still have possibility to buy those specific thing it would be great. to give life to neighbourhood without them looking weird.

For dineout. i never play it because of how impossible it is to use. few thing i think other probably state it but i havent saw coment on dineout in the one i read yet

When visiting a restaurant :

  • Making almost everything quicker : the cleaning, the cooking. i dont want to spend the whole day at the restaurant to have a simple meal.

When owning a restaurant:
-Give us the possibility to do any action we can stay just owner role if its easier in coding, but please remove the huge restriction we have as owner, it make player as a owner really boring and repetitive, let us do everything any of the role can do, let us cook if we want serve plate clean etc welle verything all teh employe do we should be able to do to. and also being able to employ family member or sims we know in addition to the random one that appear in the hiring tab.
