I modified some Shaun the Sheep games (which is a TV show) and put the series and franchise as Shaun the Sheep and put "Wallace & Gromit" as a spin-off, which was listed as a series of one of the games.

The Shaun the Sheep show itself is a spin-off of the Wallace & Gromit show. However, it has its own show and games. I noticed that my change in one of the games was changed to put Wallace & Gromit back as a franchise and remove Shaun the Sheep from the series (despite having multiple games under that brand).

I didn't understand the reason for this. Why can't Shaun the Sheep be considered a series or a franchise?

It was likely my change. You may very well be correct, but simply from a process point-of-view, Keepers can approve low level edits. But we (at least I) am alittle wary of passing a new franchise/series and would prefer to leave that to an Admin to review. Unfortunately we cannot yet selectively approve individual parts of a submission. Basically it's all or nothing. So I likely removed it simply because is was new in order to pass the other data like release dates and platforms. Feel free to submit it again and sorry for the inconvenience.

No problem. I asked because there might be a reason why Shaun the Sheep wouldn't be accepted as a series or franchise and I don't know what it is.

We'd be willing to accept Shaun the Sheep as a franchise, though we would not accept it as a series unless there are multiple games that are directly linked to each other, and we definitely would not want to mark it as a spin-off of Wallace & Gromit unless the game was related to the Wallace & Gromit games as a spin-off (not just because the show was a spin-off). Hope that makes sense, thanks for asking!

I'm finishing up adding some Photon Storm games and there are about 4 or 5 Shaun the Sheep games commissioned by Aardman Digital (the brand rights holder). Is it enough that these browser games are developed by the same company to consider them a series or would some additional connection be necessary?

Note: These are silly games, with no depth whatsoever.

Probably not, unless they have some sort of continuous story going through them. It's likely that we need to get rid of the Wallace & Gromit series as well
