Hello, I recently made an edit that was accepted for the video game "Plants vs. Zombies 3: Welcome to Zomburbia." And the admin who accepted it also removed the "Plants vs. Zombies" franchise tag I put on it. Why? Plants vs. Zombies is a franchise. Reading the IGDB github page for Series, Spin-off, & Franchise, it states, "A video game franchise frequently stretches beyond the limits of a main game series to include sub-series and offshoots. It may also include other media that explores the series in some way, such as cartoons, television shows, movies, comic books, toys, and so on."
Now, looking at what PopCap and EA have done with the PvZ brand, it can take very little research to show that PvZ is a franchise. Not only is there the main game series PvZ to PvZ 3, there's also PvZ Heroes, which takes PvZ and turns it into a turn-based card game. There are the Garden Warfare games and BfN; there is PvZ Match, which turns PvZ into something like Candy Crush. But that's not all; there are also official books and comics, and there's a plethora of merchandise.
All this to say, why would the "Plants vs. Zombies" franchise tag be removed from a game that is clearly part of a franchise?
