Rather than just being an expansion page, the Winters' Expansion is set up as a bundle containing (2 of the 3) constituent parts of the expansion - https://www.igdb.com/games/resident-evil-village-winters-expansion

As far as I know these individual parts cannot be purchased/downloaded separately, it's all one big expansion. Is there any reason to split it up like this rather than have it as one contained page? Seems a bit awkward this way and the Winters' Expansion page can't be classed as an actual expansion since it's set up as a bundle instead.

Bundles do not require the games within them to be purchasable separately to be considered bundles.

Understandable for full games (although I imagine in 99% of cases the games would have existed separately before being bundled together anyway) but does it make sense to split up expansions into individual DLCs that never existed separately to begin with? I'm just not sure what actual purpose that serves. They would all share the same release date, credits, trailer, etc. so why bother splitting them up?

#

If this is the logic then wouldn't we also have to divide up pretty much all other expansions into their constituent parts? Since the point of the "expansion" type pages is that they're larger DLCs containing multiple modes/characters/updates/etc. for a game?

#

Granted, some expansions simply are a collection of individual DLCs that can be purchased separately or were released before the expansion itself, in which case it makes sense, but that's not the case here so I'm wondering where the line is

Well some cleanup is definitely needed, as I just saw we have the items in the bundle marked as DLC of that bundle and not linked to Village itself

Yeah that certainly needs fixing in any case

I would liken this to a Season Pass that doesn't make the individual content drops available for purchase on their own, with all the content just dropped on the same day

#

these are distinct pieces of content

That's fair I suppose

#

In that case is there a reason why the third person mode (the third part of the expansion) doesn't have a distinct page like the other two?

#

I guess it is just a setting added to the campaign rather than a separate mode itself, it does change the feel of the game a lot though

^ I suppose this should be split up in the same way? Extremely similar DLC expansion that adds a story DLC, a survival type mode and then some skins and a new difficulty setting for the main campaign
