Its hard to answer simply which one is better as both are very high tier rn but for very different reasons. Yellow deku is a solid pick in every team comp being able to shread health from long ranges with good aim and having above average mobility especially with gamma 9. However red deku has some of the best aoe in the game as well as an insane combo game that can make denki gamma into beta look like a twice combo. Red deku has an insane combo game and is very oppressive to fight due to the nature of his alpha and beta interrupting attacks. Red deku also has more hp and is much better equipped for the close quarters combat as well as potentially being the best character in the game at 1v3 fights because of his aoe. Red deku also has one of if not the best alpha in the game right next to yellow deku as when you aim in the alpha at lv9 hits for a whopping 115 but with a catch. The hard knockdown makes it hard for red deku to effortlessly chain alphas together and instead means he needs to use his alpha to get in closer with the hard knockdown. The average to below average mobility he has makes it hard for him to keep up with certain characters too as his only option to keep up with say all might is to hit him out of the air with alpha to keep him from running. The alpha hard knockdown requires you to not play him like a traditional beamer. He hits hard at range but the alpha is also a great tool defensively at kiting and keeping melee characters like kirishima away from you. It can also be used to stop things like denki gamma or prevent afo from getting the full combo on a teammate by knocking him down. This also means that red deku doesn't have many good team combos or strategies as he relies almost solely on himself and his own combo game. Aziawa and afo for example your alpha will simply knock the opponent down after a shot or 2 unlike yellow deku who can delete whole healthbars when an opponent is say stunned by denki.

Long story short its hard to say definitely which is better as they fulfill entirely different jobs and are both amazing at said jobs. Id personally say that red deku is much better than yellow deku on console environments due to the more close quarters meta but on pc it could go either way and which you choose should be dependent on your playstyle or if you want to play both map. (Red deku loves ua island but kinda doesn't like usj. Yellow deku is the opposite) if you want to main both i highly suggest red deku for ua island and yellow deku for usj to fit their playstyles better
