On my strike kiri i am running festival happi (fancy) with card duplication and revenge strike but i'm having trouble deciding if i wanna swap out card duplication for gp sucker what do you fellas think i should run?

I haven't used either yet myself (tuning limitations my beloathed) but ik from other people talking abt the skills that card dupe is really good for snowballing off early KOs or levelling after a late game revive, and ik how much work red drive can get done at level 1 so that sounds awesome

that said gp sucker could be momentum in the same way, keeping you healed so you don't have to back out of fights, and that could help you a lot too! and god knows red drive would love a reason to stay in the battle

tbh I guess it depends on whether you're enjoying card dupe, and whether you'd like to get rewarded sooner for downs rather than waiting for the KO to be confirmed. that's one downside to card dupe - it's possible you miss out on the rewards, if the KO never gets confirmed or you otherwise can't collect the spoils of battle. so maybe gp sucker would be more consistent if you'd value that

it's not a full guide but the way I describe it to people is that you want to one-tap alpha and IMMEDIATELY press and hold beta. it will not work. you will press beta slightly later each time until you do it by accident, and then you can keep trying to recreate it until you start getting used to it

Basic Idea of Alpha Glide-ing

Kirishima has two parts to his Alpha:

• The Roll
• The Slash
  What you wanna do is cancel the The Slash by Holding down Beta before it even comes out.
  The Momentum should carry you towards whatever direction you're looking at while still holding onto the beta

You Can Aim this to go high or you could hold alpha to roll a few frames more and cancel it for lower/more horizontal movement. to Cancel out of the beta either roll or do a last second alpha right befor ehitting the ground

i found it easier in some cases to change my Beta key from Q to my right click just to get the timing down more comfortably

but yeah you can choose the angle to decide what you want out of it (more height or more distance, tho I usually shoot for the 45 degree angle cause it's all around good) and if you're gonna mess it up it's better to be too late cause then the alpha still gets you into the air and you can try again

also to conserve beta charge you just wait until you hit the ground and then dodge instead of letting the ground smash happen

Attack with alpha without the scratch, immediately do Beta and attack, use Alpha again without the scratch and if your lucky, you can hit a Gamma

specific step by step guide on how I do it

• jump normally
• angle camera around 45 degrees upwards (you can choose different angles for different combos of height/distance, but this is a good default angle)
• one-tap alpha
• almost immediately press and hold beta, around when kiri is upside down? hard to describe the timing, just keep trying different timings until it works
• keep holding until either you land (at which point you dodge out of beta to conserve charge) or you have a reason to attack, which you can just release beta to do the attack
  it sounds like people might have more nuanced ways to do it and get better results, but this is what I've found for "baby's first red drive schmovement" trying to get it off at ALL

assault kiri has so few charges, such slow reload, zero range, that I have to be LOCKED IN to make sure I'm using him properly

but red drive? oh my god I've got rocks for days, I can beta slam pretty routinely without running out, alpha's there like ALL the time, it feels like I can screw up with red drive all I want and probably still be on top of things

having 5 rocks compared to one single gamma as assault kiri is a world of difference

Hey- not sure if someone answered, just seeing this, sooooo- There's a few- and when you have a chance to use Beta or Gamma, Beta does more damage, but you use a lot of Beta gauge

• Alpha>Alpha Release>Alpha>Alpha Cancel into Beta or Gamma

• Alpha>Alpha Release>Alpha>Alpha Release

• Alpha>Alpha Cancel into Beta>Alpha>Alpha Cancel into Beta or Gamma

• Beta>Beta Release (Before full charge)>Alpha>Alpha Cancel into Beta or Gamma

All together this is 7 different combo strings, counting for each variant- or 4 not counting the ending variation. You can also do Alpha>Alpha Cancel into Beta or Gamma if you're feeling lazy, I suppose, which means more combos, but... Eh.

Also- if you knock someone off a ledge with a Charged Beta, Beta>Gamma is true, and airborne targets are prone to Gamma>Gamma if you're able to lead your shots.

For Melee Tuning users, there's also:

• Alpha>Alpha Release>Melee Full String

• Alpha>Alpha Release>Meleex2>Beta or Gamma (Beta looks like it might not be true, but very few people are going to know you can roll it, let alone be able to)

• Air Melee>Alpha>Alpha

• Air Melee>Alpha>Alpha Cancel into Beta or Gamma

• Air Melee>Melee>Alpha>Alpha release (GP only)

• Air Melee>Melee>Alpha>Alpha Cancel into Beta or Gamma (GP only)

The reason why Air Melee>Melee is GP only is because Air Melee has too much knockback on HP

Probably easier to notate alpha as Alpha1/Alpha2 (final hit that causes tumble effect) or Alpha1~2 if you hit both. Routing drastically changes depending on how it hits

At least this way it tells new players to ask what an alpha cancel is so we can explain quirk canceling and they learn something tho? perception by itself isn't really worth much, but because I've already got embrittlement it means that anyone I punch takes 25% more damage AND has a spotlight on them so that me and my teammates can hunt them down and take advantage of them being embrittled

it's also SUPER useful for confirming kills cause as long as I can land at least one melee then they stay tracked and it's hard to lose them

okay so even if we just look at the default ones to save you on hero souls

• casual default could run sisterly/embrit, which is great for red drive and even lets assault kiri confirm kills quickly and safely (with cheesy predict melees if you get good at them)
• unbreakable default can do my personal fav, which is perception/embrit. def better on red drive since his melee is more viable, but still usable on assault kiri since it makes confirming kills SUPER easy
• kung fu default could be HSP/revenge strike, which would be great on both kiris. pop a small pot and wait for the guard break to give you an attack boost, rinse and repeat
• happi default can do the box rush build with ibara/mirio, but outside of that doesn't really have anything SUPER solid. reinforced revive and wallrunner for a mobile support kiri, ig?
• undefeatable default has sisterly and a MILLION good options for that strike slot, personally I like SSR cause it's very funny but revenge strike, crushing PU charge, even other tunings would be good options too. very versatile costume

y'all I'm actually gonna lose it. assault kiri can't do anything against assault ochaco. nearly everything in her kit breaks super armour so I literally can't get anywhere near her. this doesn't even feel like a challenge to overcome, it's just disheartening

the only thing I can guess to do against her is like, stall her out and wait for her to screw up and land close enough to me that I can punish her????? and that's not manly at ALL that's not what I'm here for!

if I'm missing something please tell me. I'm gonna keep trying to figure this out and do the best I can but all my tools to get in close rely on super armour that she can easily break and punish, so like. I hate this

@sturdy owl yah the only thing that i think is viable is when she uses her gamma you can dodge/use alpha then continue to use alpha to break that distance (you can also use beta after dodge but its risky because she can dodge it or use another gamma have you in the air and use alpha)

but even then if you get her she has so much high dmg that whatever you do after, she can just out manuever and punish/counter. Forcing you to either A gamble and continue to fight or B run away these options both have high chance of the assault kiri player losing because of her high dmg. For her alpha dash and beta swing I use gamma to counter but it's kinda a mind a game.

What I do is spam roll to annoy the assault choco if they are missing alphas and gammas, force them into using their beta or alpha dash so i can punish with gamma.

so basicaly mind game to punish with (y) gamma and when she uses her normal (y) gamma attack, Use alpha to skirt around or dodge into alpha to punish her for using gamma. Then just keep the pressure on so she doesn't get a chance to use her beta and go on the sky to spam alpha.

All of this is going to change, once people start getting good with her though.

I was already finding good success with being able to punish her if I dodged her gamma so this is very helpful to focus on
