Looking at the "redacted" on the "redacted site" i was very worried as the set of changes looked like they giganerfed fb into the ground and removed all his combos too which would've made him not far off from twice tier tbh. Ads alpha getting a damage cut like that combined with the loss of beta cancel combos would've taken the character in his old state to bottom 5 range so i was initially very worried and mad simultaneously

However upon seeing the real patch notes i realized the actuality of these changes. They had massively improved the character feel by improving the consistency on all of his moves and actually providing a reason to use unaimed alpha which was something i always hated. The removal of combos still sucks however i think i like him more now than ever

He went from a beamer with a explosive combo gimmick to a fundamentals focused team play character which is a massive improvement and as a result he has become significantly more viable and fluid. While some skill expression was lost ill gladly take that for the improvements that he got elsewhere

Switching between uniamed alpha and aimed alpha depending on the situation feels really good and the fall speed on beta being so fast also feels extremely intuitive and good. The ability to put up 2 full walls is also extremely good for locking others outside of a building mainly and the mobility buff is a great way to keep him relevant.

The main issues i have now are
Small beta does terrible damage without the heel (60-100) which results in heel big beta doing base 220 to 260 which is absurd. The damage distribution needs changed with 30 of the heels damage being given to small beta so that big beta sweetspot isn't auto 300 and small beta aoe isn't less than 1 unaimed alpha.

Gamma still has issues with low hp and attacks hitting through that need fixed.

Overall tho i like the direction and would suggest the following if the devs ever need to balance him in either direction

Nerfs
unaimed alpha damage reduced by 2
Gamma cooldown increased slightly

Buffs
350 hp
Gamma increased size

Fixes
Beta distribution (heel from 80 to 50, small beta from 60-100 to 90-130/140)
Gamma aoe blocking capabilities

Personal desires
Small beta down power reduced from 500 to 100
Beta into gamma cancel brought back

i never really played him before the changes (mostly because i didnt have him, and when i did my right click was broken lol)
Part of me does wish i got to try that super strong ADS alpha, but i cant lie landing his spread shot feels super rewarding, and it gives reason not to just always use him aimed in alpha

i also do think the little bit of hp damage removal on beta when you hit the heel was sad, since it was one of the few moves that could go through shields in this game

The empowered beta is ridiculous now though 😭

Yea that ads alpha was nuts. That said before the rework it was genuinely the only good move he had. Beta and gamma were both far too unreliable to be good so he was literally just click click the character as nothing else worked.

Im glad to see a more well rounded approach to this rework and i hope they dont ruin this like they did last time

The only buffs i want to see is crouch shot +20 dmg at every level (it feels so awful to utilize rn) and +2 alpha ammo at every level.
You could also make improvements to his alpha scaling so he isn't as bad early on and of course fix the beta startup fps problem.
If this makes him too strong then alpha tap could go down to 75 at max but i dont see it being a issue

So to list it all
Snipe shot +20 dmg to encourage using it again without making it too ridiculous like it was before
Alpha ammo +2 at every level. This is just to match shoto and bakugo better. Its always been surprising to me that the character who is most reliant on his alpha out of the entire cast of beamers is on the lower end of max ammo
If hes too strong then lower alpha tap at lv9 down to 75 with appropriate scaling
Fix fps beta startup

I feel like these changes would just improve the character in healty ways and make ammo counts more consistent with the rest of the cast.

People really want to see 2nd blackwhip lv7 and i dont understand why because if anything it should spike at 9 and its not like a slightly earlier 2nd blackwhip would do anything really. Hes in a good spot rn so i wouldn't say hes in desperate need of buffs but a few changes just to improve consistency with character design and encourage use of otherwise kunda worthless moves would be a good direction

But objectively snipeshot is still pretty good utility, it's decent peel, decent combos and it's knockback can be useful for different stuff as well.

Well i understand as he is a mid to upper mid tier usually comfortably in the high B to A range on most tier lists.
Thats why the changes i suggested would be more focused on lining up his consistency with other alphas and a slight buff to what is pretty inarguably the most baffling part of his kit (imo snipe shot only feels worth it if you are last shoting instead of actually being a decent tool on its own. If not a damage buff then maybe make it hit harder from longer ranges like reverse mic alpha works to encourage actually sniping W it)

Well the damage isn't what makes me say inconsistent, its the ammo.
A lot of the older beamers like bakugo and todoroki have 10 ammo despite having clear other ways of damage output that are great while deku kinda doesn't have that. Deku is the only character in the game where its reasonable to have 90% of your damage output be alpha consistently

So does a character that is so reliant on his alpha have less ammo then a lot of other, less alpha reliant, characters

As for snipe shot yes it does have "some" utility but the point of the snipe shot buff wasn't to change this but rather make it a viable move for actually sniping.

I get that he isn't bad which is again why i dont suggest large buffs or crazy things. Im simply trying to iron out the inconsistent alpha ammo count and make snipe actually feel worth using (im aware that its not completely worthless but rn is high risk low reward and thats always terrible for a move to be at)

I see where you are coming from believe me I do. I've mained him since season 1 and been there through his nerfs, buffs, studied matchup knowledge etc but he is still able to fight the higher tier characters when you play him right. He truly doesn't need any buffs when he is already a good character. Buffing good characters just isn't the way to go in these kind of games. Also the snipe shot isn't always a low reward it can be high when used correctly for the utility that it can serve i've had alot of success and the reward was super good when the right opportunities presented itself

There are definitely some improvements to make him equal to the other beamers but since he doesnt have any gimmicks, it just feels super satisfying to be able to pull off super cool stuff with his kit and he can feel like an S tier while also being an expressive character with his whip combos that can tod people

Deku has very few fixer builds and of the ones that he does have they are all usually quite underwhelming and barely do more than the meta options.

For example
Undefeatable base gets roughly 94 if i remember correctly
His best fixer fit gets 96

Given how little of a difference there is id say not using fixer and instead having 2 good special tunes to rely on (like for Undefeatable you get space hop/willpower) is going to be more valuable overall than using fixer for what is essentially 2 damage

Its for this reason that i dont ever suggest using fixer on either deku. It CAN increase your damage but its never by enough to actually be worth the special tune

Ok so heres whats the deal for fb

His raw alpha output is insane so you may think tuning it as much as possible is best. this is wrong and instead hes better off with a durability build

The nature of his kit after the rework is very melee focused and he has littpe priority due to his laggy options and high endlag. This means he will he constantly taking damage however his damage is so absurdly high that he still does well regardless which means that your much better off using ways of mitigating damage rather than increasing damage if that makes sense.

Basically if we look at it like a stat its like this
Atk - 9/10
Def - 2/10
So your much better off making a build that does
Atk 9/10
Def 5/10
Rather than a build that does
Atk 10/10
Def 3/10

Damage stacking makes his output so absurdly high but its already really crazy on its own so you want to focus on improving the parts that he struggles with rather than increasing 130 dmg alphas to 145

For this reason id say the best build currently is gran torino combat ver
This is because of the combination of revenge support and hyper regen. This combo is crazy and is further boosted by a decent set of sub tunes being able to buff his hp by a good bit and having all 3 hp atk powers avaliable

I have been using yellow deku gamma more and damm i should have done that a long time ago

It is hard to hit moving targets with his gamma but there are a couple of times where opponents aren't moving so i use it then

And damm they get cooked

Also it combos well with other characters

I had a tech shigi alpha a assault endeavour and they were in a tight area with only one way to run, when he hit him i immediately used my gamma and caught endeavour in the air when he got knocked out by tech shigi alpha, and his alpha doesnt have 500 dp so thats why i was able to catch endeavour

An example would be where you pull someone in with gamma, use a couple melees (they expect you to follow through with the melee combo to knock them down), but then you use your alpha a couple of times on them insead as they stand there thinking they were going to get knocked back, then you use your gamma to pull them back, then they expect you to down them AGAIN, but you use your alpha a couple more times and they're basically dead at that point.. all because they tried to do everything but roll the combo

its like, you use a tiny gap in your combo to fake them out to get either more damage, or to bait them into taking more by reacting poorly

Hey, thought about Electrification today- and I think y’all could benefit from it if you use his Gamma for combos in any capacity? Costume for reference btw- Normal slots are mid but whatever- but if one of y’all who are actually good at him could tell me, that’d be great

Anyway- Electrification and YAFO- YAFO for obvious reasons- his reloads are bad, but I know I have to explain myself for using electrification outside of melee protection against melee- and it has to do with his Gamma combos (Which, I can’t perform in a real match, but, it’s an idea, not something I use myself)

Y’all know how you need to use both Gammas for his TOD, leaving you with no mobility afterwards? Well- I think electrification solves that in a number of ways- so let’s go over each scenario, using GAAB as our base

1.) They’re on HP: They’re certainly dead if you do GAAmeleex3B anyway

2.) Electrification procs on Alpha shots: Regardless of if it’s your first or second Alpha that procs, I’m 90% sure that they won’t be close enough to get hit by electrification before the second alpha- so- instead you can just do GAAAAB, and get the kill that way

3.) Electrification procs on Beta: Since Beta also has 100 down power, if Beta procs electrification, GAABAAB becomes a combo

This only really needs a level 4 Alpha to work- and that’s without including whatever GP or Alpha tunings you’re running. You obviously also make life harder for melee characters.

You can also do double Beta if you raw Beta someone and it guardbreaks them as you try and get them off you- and you could probably also squeeze in an alpha or 2 to just- delete them.

Sure- you’re missing out on Acceleration or some other melee tuning, but if you’re already using Gamma combos, leaving your second Gamma free to escape after comboing someone, and being able to do this much damage with such low levels is surely worth it, right?

Also- I did the calcs- with a level 4 alpha and level 4 Beta, the GAABAAB combo would do 572 damage before tuning and Strike/Assault teammates- and if you just have a level 4 alpha and no Beta levels, replacing the last Beta with crouch shot is 499, which is pretty brutal lol

Depends- Do you do Gamma combos?

If you do, it’s worth turning it off so you can properly aim Gamma, as it is the slowest ranged grab in the game with the most amount of endlag on a miss (partly because of the range)- so it’s really punishing to whiff.

If you don’t, you don’t really need aim assist off, as alpha is much closer to hitscan, and you’ll be able to point and shoot at most of your important ranges anyway.

Here's the build I mentioned the other day- I underestimated how much endlag his Beta has, but- it still works. Just- not as well as I'd have hoped. Give it a shot! I'm sure some of y'all can have better timing on the second one- but shredding the Ibara so bad shocked me after noticing the endlag problem

i think is a good dmg build overall, you can max your alpha dmg and your beta and melee

with gp and hp

Accel is a melee tune that makes him generally a disgusting monster, seeing accel toko in player list is a death sentence
Spiraling leap would help more with landing skills and honestly with air melees, so best case we'd have a spiraling leap and qfr / fixer / twisted fortune since he can easily collect civvies by breaking buildings

I assume your going for fixer.
That said base deku doesn't have very many good technical builds and the ones they do have are significantly behind many of the meta options in terms of sub tunes.
Unfortunately tech hero remains the worst special tune to go for if you want good sub tunes too. Base tech has a build or 2 tho
