My little brother got an Xbox recently and since he's having a friend over we got him a second controller, but when we try using it for multiplayer games, both controllers inputs only affect one account. We've tried using a guest account but the game just crashes immediately after. I personally use PlayStation and I've never had any issues like this so idk what else to do
#Xbox controllers both connecting to the same account, preventing multiplayer

Press the Xbox button → go to Profile & system → Settings → Devices & connections → Accessories.
Select each controller and confirm which profile it’s assigned to.
If both say the same account, reassign one to the guest/friend’s profile. try this se if it helps
I'm pretty sure I did that, assigning one to my profile and one to his but they still both acted like they were controlling his one only
you trying to use it on another xbox or same xbox?
Same xbox
