a mic only inputs sound it does not output so your not going to be able to hear people with just a mic.

you maybe able to use a audio splitter but your still going to have to use some kind of earphones or headset to hear people.

or output the party though your tv but your mic will likely pick that up and have a echo with that.

It's okay with the echo problem if he uses a piece that separates Mike and Voice solves a final problem?
