i recently cleaned the dust out of my newly bought xbox one and power supply, now whenever i launch my console it has a chance to randomly turn off but when a game is running it never does this. i'm scared that it's both the console and power supply but i'm hoping it's only the power supply since it has a tendency to keep the orange led on even after being pulled out the console and 2nd cable

the way to find out would be too replace the power supply

upbeat pendant
#

because i don't have access to any first party ones

sweet rock
#

my advise would be too always buy official power supplies.

upbeat pendant
#

unfortunately it's impossible to do so

sweet rock
#

yuou can get them from just about any gaming store or website

#

Amazon for example.

upbeat pendant
#

#

i only need the power supply part with the brick

#

these reviews are awfully telling

sweet rock
#

well you kind of need too help yourself the point i making is that you can get OEM

upbeat pendant
#

there's almost more 1 star reviews than 5 star

upbeat pendant
#

for a fraction of the price

#

anyway thank you for assisting me, but do you mind if i show you an image related to this in your dms? i can't send images in the server

sweet rock
#

we dont do support via Dms sorry
you can share a link and you can also upload a image too a hosting site like imgur and share it.

upbeat pendant
#

um imgur isn't supported in my country so i guess i'll try to describe it

#

i mentioned this in the opening message, but whenever i disconnect my brick from my console and 2nd cable the orange light stays on for a while longer, is this a normal thing they happen to do?

sweet rock
#

the screenshot you shared in genreal the link above explains what the lights mean

upbeat pendant
#

no what i'm asking is, is the light supposed to be on when it's disconnected from everything

sweet rock
#

yes this is all explained on the link I gave you at the start

upbeat pendant
#

"if the led is on" this is the step after the power supply is plugged into a wall socket

#

what i'm asking is why does my power supply still display it's led light whilst not being plugged into anything

sweet rock
#

because its supose too

#

the fact the light is on mean the power brick is getting power because its pluged into a wall outlet.

upbeat pendant
#

no the light is on when it isn't plugged into a wall outlet

sweet rock
#

you need too follow the steps in the screenshot does it still say on when plugging into your xbox and if so does it start flashing

sweet rock
upbeat pendant
#

therefore, how is there any power to activate the led if it's also not in a socket

sweet rock
#

if it isnt pluged into a wall outlet then it should not have any light and should be off,

upbeat pendant
#

yes i know, that's why i'm asking why it does that

sweet rock
#

because its faulty?

upbeat pendant
#

this is what i was looking for but you didn't seem to understand

#

what the hell does a shrug mean

#

i keep explaining yet you never understood and kept telling me the same thing

sweet rock
#

I did explain it needs replacing right at the start of this chat. I even went out of my way to show you could get a OEM power supply and gave you links because you said they do not exist anymore. Your picture you posted in general does not show that it wasn't plugged into a socket, i assumed it was because there was a light.

upbeat pendant
#

it clearly shows that it is in fact not plugged in

#

each circle shows that the power supply is not plug in whatsoever. the circle on the bottom is the cable that's supposed to be in the console, and the circle above that one is supposed to be plugged into the cable that goes into the wall socket

#

clearly it is not plugged into a console, because the cable is well, not inside anything. and it of course isn't inserted into a wall socket because we can see that there's no cable on that side either
