@young sinew Thanks for posting! Please remember, support here is volunteer-based and not official. Be patient after posting, and don’t spam or ask in other channels.
If your issue is about accounts, billing, contact Xbox Support directly.
If your issue is related to an Enforcement action, no one here can help.

To help us help you, make sure to answer:

  • What did you try to do and what happened? (Be specific—mention your Xbox model, PC version, Insider ring, or anything relevant.)
  • **What have you tried to do to fix it already? **(List everything you’ve done to fix it.)
  • Have you searched the error code or for similar problems? (Tell us what you found.)

If you don’t answer these, you might not get a response.

After they added overwatch 2 in the gamepass it hasn’t been the same, i’ve been getting a lot of issues:

1- when i delete ow2 and try to download it again it just downloads to like 1.2% 3.7% and it stops for no reason and it says “installation stopped” (my internet is perfectly fine) whenever i try to download another game it just downloads without no issues, but the problem isn’t me or my internet it’s ow2 itself

#

2- when i click on the game (ow2) to play i just get a black screen for 10-15 minutes and then the blizzard animation pops out, but the animation is sooo laggy and slow after the animation i get a black screen for a couple of minutes after that the loading screen where all the loading and things happen, when i get onto the “entering game” text it just keeps saying that nonstop like i can’t access the game. (whenever i try to launch ow2, my xbox becomes laggy and slow for no reason that only happens when i try to play ow2)

#

Things i tried but never worked:

1- cleared MAC thing in internet settings
2- restarted my xbox million times
3- unplugged and plugged my xbox
4- contacted support
5- tried launching the game from the xbox app
6- tried another internet
7- deleted the game and reinstalled it again

#

important informations that might you help you find a solution for me.

1- xbox series S

2- the issue might happen when ow2 was added to gamepass (17th of September 2024)

3- i can play and download whatever i want, but when it comes to overwatch i just can’t play it and i can’t even download it.

4- my internet is fine as i said before

5- apparently there are some ppl who are struggling too with the same issue (from the official xbox support)

6- the issue is coming from ow2, my xbox is fine my internet is fine

I would appreciate any help or solutions

(i will not factory reset my xbox or do a hard reset)

Are you installing it to an external hard drive or expansion card?
If so, disconnect those and then install it to the internal drive and see if that helps

young sinew
#

it’s all digital

#

i don’t have any of these

keen flame
#

Okay so you are installing it to internal already cool.
Have you tried uninstall the game, doing a factory reset, and then reinstalling to see if that fixes it?

young sinew
#

yes i did

#

and it didn’t work

echo sail
#

You have tried the reset while keeping games and apps? You didn't mention this in your initial troubleshooting list

young sinew
#

i can’t do that

#

it can’t really be an option

keen flame
#

You just said you did?

#

It is the easiest troubleshooting step and there is a reason it is featured so frequently when attempting to help people resolve their problems.

#

The reasons why someone would not "have the option" to do "Factor Reset - Keep Games & Apps" is pretty much restricted to sus reasons.

#

Slow and broken game downloads to external drives is generally a sign that the external drive is dying.
Since you've said you're using the internal drive, then it is possibnle that it is a software issue or a hardware issue.
Factory reset will help.

my xbox became laggy

#

like 2-3 months ago

young sinew
#

so?

echo sail
#

Try it again, or you could try the option where you delete all games and apps as a last resort. Or just reach out to Xbox support

young sinew
#

what if the reset thing didn’t work

#

i contacted support and they said the same thing

#

i need to reset and do keep games and data

keen flame
#

so you've got 3 people, including official support, telling you that you need to do a full reset

i think you know what your next move should be

#

If you don't want to do the standard troubleshooting step, then there is nothing else we can assist with

young sinew
#

i did that

#

nothing changed same problem

young sinew
#

i’m still having this issue
