i can’t send pics apparently
can i dm someone the ports maybe that would know more than me about this and can help pls?
should be able to upload a picture to a site like imgur and then post the link to that here
one sec
here this should work
these are the ports on the monitor, considering there’s no hdmi i need to go and buy some sort of converter for this to work
idk which port would be best to convert to and stay playable
not sure you'd be able to use that monitor to play on the Series S. You have Displayport and a couple of older connectors. Closest one you could try and convert would be the displayport but I'm unsure on how well Displayport to HDMI works and its limitations though with the age of that monitor you likely won't be making any use of the latest HDMI specs that the Series S supports
tbf i don’t really care for it to be the best
i just want it to be playable and good enough to be enjoyable yk?
yeah, I get you
you think displayport is my best option to convert to then?
i was gonna try hdmi to VGA at some point lmfao
yeah as it will be more up to date and I think HDMI and Displayport share some similarities compared to the older VGA and DVI connectors (neither of which should be in use today)
alright then i shall go hunting for an hdmi to displayport connected
thank uuu
just be sure to find one that supports HDMI side as you want the monitor end to be displayport but the adapter end to be HDMI - if that is possible. I'm not 100% sure on adapters and stuff. Hope you manage to get it set up and playing again 🙂
thank you!!
@solid orbit didn’t work unfortunately
my options are DVI or VGA now, who’s better?
to reexplain the situation to anyone joining the thread
main tv broken found an old hp monitor that only accepts dvi or vga, need to know what would be possible to run my xbox series s on in an acceptable way
