So my Xbox has been dieing recently and it had an update and I turned it off when I went to bed and it won’t turn back on now so I ordered a new one and I am wondering if I will have all my progress on games still that were saved on the Xbox and not the game drive

Your game progress (and purchases, friends list, achievements, etc) are all stored in the cloud.
Games sync to the cloud constantly, and if there is an upload happening when you turn your Xbox off your xbox will actually sneakily stay on (the power light will blink) until the upload is complete.
If your xbox literally died in the middle of playing a game, then the most you'd lose is some small amount of progress between when it last completed an upload and when it died
(assuming you have internet access of course...)
