Do Xbox account get made alongside your email?

My dad has had his email over 20 years and today he asked me what this was and it was a Xbox account with a basic generated name and no gamer points but he never made a Xbox account. Did this just happen automatically

It maybe created when he created an ms account for pc

If at any point in the last 20 years he used the Zune software or signed into a game or gaming website with his Microsoft account it would have created an Xbox profile on his account.

If it's a white question mark on a red background it'll be from Zune

It was an old music app/device. But doesn't sound like it.

It sounds like there's no harm there, it probably just exists. He can start using it if he wants.

If it had gamerscore on it and he had no idea what it was I'd worry about someone else using it.

A while back I was hacked in weird way so everything something unexpected happens it kinda sets me off

If he's really worried he can check his login history on https://account.live.com/Activity and make sure there's nothing weird there.
