can somebody help me?? my xbox controller (SERIES X) just randomly disconnected. it flashes but wont turn back on or connect to the xbox. i hold the connect button on the controller and it flashes but the xbox wont flash to connect. ive put in new batteries, ive plugged a usb in. ive unplugged it for a few minutes and plugged it back in. i hold the power button for like 10 seconds to turn it on then off and it connects for like maybe 2 seconds and i move once and its back disconnected.

Let's move the discussion here actually. So your console won't boot anymore, it just boots to the troubleshooting menu? You don't need to hold the sync button.
I'm saying hold the power button on your console for 10 seconds to turn the console completely off and do a hard reboot of the console, not the controller.
The console is stuck thinking it needs to tell the controller to disconnect, so you need to restart the console.

ive held the xbox button while it was off and on. when it was on it came to troubleshoot then i had to shut the xbox off when troubleshoot came up. how fo i hard reboot the console?
@knotty gulch the console will turn on, it doesnt go into troubleshoot. when i hold the button it goes to troubleshoot

yes. when i do that it takes me to troubleshoot if i continuously hold it. do i turn it on then hold it until it shuts off?

ive pulled the power cable multiple times and plugged it back in. ive unplugged it and instantly plugged it in and i’ve unplugged it for a few minutes and plugged it back in and nothing happens

The power cable from teh console, not the USB cable from the controller, correct?

correct, from the back of the xbox. only way ive gotten it to reconnect is when it went into troubleshooting mode and i shut it off and i turned it back on and it worked for like 2 seconds
