xcloud will come to iOS when either Apple amends their appstore terms to be something MS is willing to work with, or MS figures out a way to make it commercially viable within the current terms (never say never but Apple's asking a lot to have every single title reviewed... that would likely result in the game selection being limited to highly demanded titles only)
and it's also possible regulators would force their hand, so it's probably not the right time to bend over backward to accommodate appstore policy just yet.

I've been loving xCloud so far. I've played a few games so far, like The Messenger and Yakuza Kiwami, and the experience has been very smooth. I only had one minor issue where my controller stopped being recognized by my LG phone, but I tried a different controller and it worked fine after that. I'm using the PowerA MOGA gaming clip to play most of the time. How are others choosing to play xCloud games, and which games do you play the most often on it?

I haven't noticed any input lag. I play on my home wifi, roughly 100 Mbps, but lots of other devices are using it at the same time. I've only noticed a couple dropped frames here or there after an hour of playing across multiple games. The resolution and frame rate are still really good
I'm a stickler for if the frame rate or resolution drops too low when playing anything, but it's worked well on the games that I've tried so far

I just want to say that even after 3 days the streaming has gotten better. The bugs that need to be fixed are crackling audio (poor connection on their end), latency (input lag), and false positive connection errors.

I read an article that suggested on how they can work around it by having xcloud act as an extention to the console. Therefore being a remote service.

Remote play and XCloud are 2 different things. Remote play doesn't exist has a work around for ios it was always going to be there. Xclould requires a app to download from the store and then you stream the games from a server apple does not allow that in there terms they want Microsoft to load each game to the store has its own thing. Remote play you connect to your console and stream the game from your console and the console is the sever

I've tried Xcloud, Stadia, Geforce Now and PlayStation Now. They all work in their specific ways rather similar and the latency they introduce make it impossible to enjoy any fast reaction games. Adventures with little to no action component will work, but anything with precision is a pain.
And I struggled myself through Infamous: Festival of Blood to complete that to 100%, not just tried it for a few minutes. 🙂
On Xcloud, I installed HyperDot to my PC, which isn't a high end gaming machine, but way more than capable enough for that one. And I compared it to Xcloud on my Shield TV, with a decent wired internet connection.
It was basically unplayable after the first few introduction levels. When it starts getting demanding, you are screwed.
Going over to PC, the same levels became a breeze.
The technology is impressive, with around 50-70ms extra latency playing on a machine elsewhere. But it's still not really usable.
That's why I chose to rather get an Xbox Series S to make use of my remaning 2.9 years of Gamepass. 😄
Who knows, I might even keep it then.
Depending on the output of games and how I manage to keep up with my backlog.
Anyone here really trying to argue that Xcloud is a valuable tool to play e.g. Forza?

I don't think anyone who has spent much time with the service would argue that... the latency does matter for some games, and even if you can still play them you'll find them significantly more difficult
but if owning an actual console isn't a possibility, then it does at least give you the ability to try
(or, even if you do own a console, you can play the games you want to away from home... though those probably won't be the mechanically challenging ones 😁)

this system is still only in beta remember that and you will be fine. improvements come slowly as to latency that is also determined by your network as well i had no problems while on 5ghz but i also have low ping numbers. this is an exciting new aspect that may not be a good fit for all games at the moment but its still the beginning of somthing that could be the future.

Hi guys, this new Xcloud streaming app consumes more battery than the preview one, I am using a Samsung Galaxy S10 Lite, speaking in more technical terms when I start streaming Cloud the most powerful CPU core of the Galaxy S10 Lite switches to maximum frequency and remains stuck at that frequency and this leads to absurd battery consumption.

I travel a lot for work and to visit family. Yes still. Lots of hotel stays. It's really nice to be able to just take a tablet and controller and play my xbox in the hotel without dragging my xbox. I have a switch too so now I have a choice of 2 consoles when I travel

I tried to connect my iPad or iPhone with remote play but it‘s not successful. It says “We found your console but can’t connect. Try from a different Wi-Fi or cellular network.” I don’t understand because my Wi-Fi is very good. It’s on 5G Wi-Fi and my Xbox is wired.

@lost tapir You would need the disc in the drive for it to work, but if it's not blocked from streaming it should work.

it should work if it is not then that's likely a bug and you should properly submit feedback from with in the app. I pretty sure you can also double tab the screen and it show touch controls for the xbox button has well.
