I imagine they are worried about PC since unlike Stadia, Xcloud is currently based on Xbox One S. Stadia to my knowledge runs on linux. So most of the games with Stadia work with a mouse and keyboard where as with Xcloud you have to make sure people know they need a controller.

you can build xbox games to work with mouse/keyboard or even (on xcloud at least) touchscreen controls, but most developers haven't and probably still don't... once xcloud launches they might try to support that more often, since an xbox game is no longer necessarily an xbox game

I could also see devs going back and adding support to popular titles for that reason

It's not viable, mantis. Apple expects Microsoft to submit every single game that is in the xCloud catalog and there are games in there that Microsoft doesn't own, so how can it submit them?

Apple is trying to come over as the good guy for "safety" but it's not really viable.

Think of it as asking Netflix to submit every movie and TV show they stream to Apple before they stream it.

Although there are some technical differences (where stadia has an advantage) and library differences (where xbox has a huge advantage), conceptually stadia and xcloud are very similar.

ofc xcloud players also have a physical console for when they are playing on their TV, and xcloud cant play on pc (yet). but they both are a set of games streaming to the relevant device. and should be seemlessly portable between them

Since it only match player using Stadia, it is difficult to find other players in a game like Destiny 2 where you can't really solo all the content. Xcloud currently limited to phone or Xbox is a bummer for me since I don't plan on getting any console and playing on a phone is just not a long time solution

I use Stadia on both PC (Chrome browser) and TV (Chromecast) interchangeably. So would love to have the same flexibility with Xcloud plus the larger player base from Xbox. But seems like I would need to wait until PC compatibility comes out next year.

There may be a small handful of devices that have enough power to run a small number of the games available, only the basic titles. That means it is a lot of work and expense to develop that capability that could be used by a small fraction of the user base for only a handful of games.

They would need to somehow make each game into its own app to be submitted to the App/Play Store, which would take a lot of work and expense from the developers, not Xbox. They would need to manage game updates and patches separately for both the App and Play Stores on top of the updates for Xbox, PlayStation and PC.

And that's not even the tip of the difficulties that would come with trying to set up something like this. It's just not feasible in the slightest.
