CDN stands for Content Distribution/Delivery Network

It's the server network that hosts files for distribution to a client

more people try to pull those files? then it has to divide the bandwidth from that server for those files between each person trying to download them

an older single player game hosted will have less pull than a more recent popular online game

it's why Fortnite and CoD have always had horridly slow download speeds

hundreds of thousands to millions attempting downloads simultaneously

same for brand new blockbuster launch titles

downloads are also effected by local hardware as well as your network

better storage, memory, and CPU will allow for faster download speeds

1 person downloads? full speed of hardware/network allowed

100 people attempt to get the same file

you now have 100 instances of that transfer running on the same hardware

it's going to slow down significantly

the larger a population closer to that datacenter, the more likely it is to download slower

Before I never had this type of problem until it occurred. The problem that has been bugging me for the past few days is that one of my games for windows, "Dead By Daylight" keeps uninstalling itself from my game library every time I shutdown or restart my computer after using it. Whenever I download it back it works until I close my pc then check after a while to use my pc again where the storage space where the game is located now has gained the amount of GB the game takes up and the game is missing. However, when I go onto the shortcut it takes me to the gaming services app which does not help me at all. For me to redownload the game I have to verify and repair it. Is there anything I can do do stop it from uninstalling itself?

ghosting is hit or miss

contrast halos is just due to how bright it gets

so they're unavoidable if you have a dark background

since it has a low number of dimming arrays

Well I can't get into the details, but currently the prices has been deflating due to the recent crypto crash and supply chain improvements since countries like Taiwan have been able to reduce the virus with vaccinations. Honestly in my opinion, Intel arc gpus and AMD/Nvidia next gen gpus would certainly make pricing an improvement.

I looked into your recording. Your GPU is the issue by the looks of it. Your steam overlay is showing 100% usage spikes, meaning your GPU is capping out for small moments and can’t render enough frames. Could be wrong depending on how you have your numbers laid out.

I’m just assuming the one constantly hitting 99/100 is your usage

And just FYI, the settings has a huge impact on what card can and cannot run the game without impact. If your friend with a 3gb card runs everything on low with a low render scale, he’ll obviously be fine

If he tried ultra his pc would nope out.

According to the specs of the Ryzen 2600, it's base clock is: Base Clock 3.4GHz and boost clock: Max. Boost Clock Up to 3.9GHz but it never goes past 3.4ghz. I checked my bios and I see that the 'boost' setting says auto or disabled. Is there another setting I should use? Yes I tried Google.

both the 2600 and 2600X can be overclocked. Unlike how Intel operate (or used to) where their non K suffix CPUs were locked AMD allows for overclocking but honestly I'd leave it be and let it run completely stock. More often than not that is how AMD intended the CPU to work and you will probably find it operates best at stock with minimal gains to be had when overclocking

once Radeon Super Resolution is enabled go to the in game settings and change the native resolution to anything lower than your monitor's resolution. For instance, try 1080p and to check RSR is active press alt + R and it should show Call of Duty Vanguard's profile with RSR enabled and another tick below that saying it is active

some games also support FSR 1.0 (2.0 coming soon, from Q2 2022) in the event a game supports FSR leave monitor resolution at native which would render RSR inactive and instead use FSR as it will be better since FSR comes earlier in the pipeline (UI won't be affected like it is with RSR for example) and FSR also supports a sharpness slider

DDR5 hasn’t matured enough to take genuine advantage of a performance gain for the increased price

When it hits 8000mhz, 10000mhz, etc etc, that convo is worth revisiting

there are some games where RSR may not work. Maybe Call of Duty Vanguard is one of them. Might be best just to disable it for that game and run at native resolution, if the GPU you have is powerful enough to do that

I have a modem (it can do router mode but it's crap and can't even change my DNS so it's in modem mode) also have a Belkin RT3200, connected to the modem through a 1gbps cable. Is it just me or is the xbox wireless adapter's sync button supposed to be non-functional?

The button does nothing at all, so to pair stuff, I have to do it directly via Windows's pairing settings instead, as that's what turns on the adapter's light, contrary to what the adapter manual and microsoft's site says

Nvidia has some great technology for sure. FSR doesn’t come close to DLSS, and Nvidia’s RTX platform does raytracing way, way, way better than RDNA2

in my amd radeon r7 240 it took 800x600 lowest graphic as possible to get me 60 fps and but it barely going up 60 fps any moves enemy make boom fps drop but in gtx 1650 it took ultra graphic 1080p and still going 60 fps without any drops

some games will be more demanding and depending on how much vram is required and how much is on the 1650 itself may require you to lower a setting or two for a better experience

bet it will feel good having a GPU that gets updates again too 😅

AMD and Nvidia driver installs are pretty similar tbh. Only difference with Nvidia is if you choose not to install geforce experience (optional or used to be) you get a control panel that looks like it belonged in the early 2000's compared to AMD's modern looking Radeon Software

One universal piece of advice though- be realistic. PC gaming is expensive, and also complex when it comes to troubleshooting and problem solving

the real gains are going to be seen when AMD launch Zen 4 but that will need more than just a CPU upgrade. Motherboard and RAM too since it is a whole new platform (Zen - Zen 3 = AM4, Zen 4 = AM5) and RAM supported is likely DDR5.
I think AMD released the 5800X3D as a response to Intel's 12th gen CPUs

btw Nourtney, there is the cheaper 5600 (non-X) is pretty much just as good as a 5600X but with a slight clock speed reduction and that as far as I can tell is the only difference. Framerates should be near identical

yeah but iirc userbenchmark was bias towards Intel even when everyone knew AMD's CPUs were on top at the time. Still to this day I'd imagine their notes if you compare a 5600X to 11600K they favour the Intel CPU or they find something to verify the waste of sand that is the 11900K (downgrade from 10th gen 10 cores as the 11900K was an 8 core CPU, as was the 11700K)

well that might be alright that side of it since it is benchmarks by other users but I'd take the best and worst results with a grain of salt since some will have overclocked them etc and it still counts towards the average they show

imo Ryzen CPUs don't need overclocking. Run they as them are out of the box. That is their optimal configuration. Very little, if any gains to be had trying to overclock while all it does is have the CPU run hotter than needed in most cases (exception being extreme cooling)

ahh ok. Balanced is what AMD recommend. Had it been high performance it may have tried to run the CPU at 100% clock speed (up to 4.6GHz on the 5600X) all the time which isn't necessary and like overclocking will have the CPU run hotter
