Also a solution ask ur family if u can use the wifi and they use hotspot
why tf
could be virus a ddos or
nah, i tried to download a game via blizzard patcher as well and it doesn't work
but i can watch/stream youtube netflix
damn wtf
download off website that's over 10gb big
let me try the other channel and hopefully some1 knows what's going on and how to work around it
Yea sorry for the inconvenience I tried my best to help 😖
@elder yarrow You have to go into windows settings and go to network settinga
Over there there should be an option to reduce internet usage on a tethered network
where exactly is this option to disable? tried searching for it, but nothing came up
yup
yup
Then you should be able to hit a button somewhere to view saved networks, or something along those lines
Its propably at the bottom of the page at one of those buttons
oh, i can't post a screenshot
You can send me a DM
Not necessarily pc gaming but im looking to buy a gaming monitor for the xbox series x. Im kinda of tech stupid so keep that in mind What sorta ports do I need? Is 60hz too little for the series x sense its can go over 60fps? What sorta brands are trustworthy?
I would look into asus, msi, acer, etc
I would go for monitors designated as console gaming monitors, not just any one you find
Because not all high refresh rate monitors are compatible with the next gen console 120hz mode
Where would be the best place to look? I've just been using mainly ebay
I would really appreciate if anybody would dm me what im looking for. 4k, 120hz or higher compatible with series X and price doesn't really matter I'll save up if I have too
tbh I'd buy new. Buying used you are taking a gamble. One that will either pay off and you get a nice discount on a monitor or end up an expensive paper weight. 4K 120Hz is pretty rare to find right now but monitors with HDMI 2.1 support are slowly making their way onto the market and these monitors should support not only 120Hz better but also Freesync so not only can you enjoy the higher refresh rate but also tear free gaming too. Win-win for all gamers. Console or PC 🙂
How do ik if a monitor is compatible with the series x. Is HDMI 2.1 all that it needs or is there more to it
HDMI 2.1 is ideal but older HDMI works too but I refer back to what XLR8 said. Some monitors high refresh rates may not be compatible and to add to that Freesync may have to be disabled to allow the 120Hz refresh rate so it can be real hit or miss. I'd wait and see how these upcoming HDMI 2.1 monitors turn out. Though they will be quite expensive I imagine. Just a heads up in advance
How expense do you think they would be?
greater than the cost of the Series X
up to, maybe even exceeding double the cost of one even
Thats alright I plan on getting a summer job and saving up
The most expensive monitors I saw online were like 1000 which is a lot but doable for me
they can go way further than that but I wouldn't concern yourself with any of those monitors. Most likely none of them, at this time support HDMI 2.1 and use features the Series X can't make use of
Thank you for the help please dm or @ me if you ever find a series x compatible monitor. Im alright waiting sense I haven't even found a series x yet😭
no problem 🙂
Is your pfp a borderlands YouTuber or something I swear I've seen it
yeah, though I'm not him. He goes by the name AdmiralBahroo. I just love the panda emotes 😄
I knew I had seen that before. It is a cute panda
@smoky flame yea def try for a 6700xt :) let me know if you snag one!
AMD's keynote sounded good. FSR finally revealed after much hype. Coming June 22nd and is as I hoped for. Supports even the 5700 XT and ironically even supports older Nvidia Geforce GTX cards too. There may be no "good guy" in all this but AMD sure seem to care about gamers that can't keep up with the very latest, bleeding edge tech meanwhile Nvidia seem to think everyone grows money on trees and is loaded announcing the 3080 Ti that costs $1199. Clearly it won't be at that price for too long. Before long we'll see it jump up somewhere between a 3080 and 3090 increased pricing so good luck anyone who wants one
I totally missed what FSR even is lol. I'm gonna read up.
I’ve been messing with the create mod and immersive engineering mod combined, so great
On Minecraft*
Okay FSR is neat. Good read up.
I would go for either 4k 60hz or 1080/1440 120hz
Where do you live? I could send you some links
so i bought some more rgb stuff, figured i could use two more fans on the top as an exhaust
fits with the month too, asus has rainbow rgb profiles
Should I get a pc
Depends
Ok I think I will
i guess they didnt need much convincing
Hello 👋
I was wondering if anyone could share some advice for starting pc-gaming?
Parts you pick depend on which games you wanna run and at what resolution/fps you wanna play on
Thank you ^^
I actually know nothing about pcs... so do you have a specific information source that you learnt from?
Or is this something you’ve learnt over time from friends and experience?
I asked a local tech store about it and no joke they recommended an Apple Mac
Soo...
Well, for a start that Apple Mac likely costs more than a PC that is greater in spec will. Shop about, read up on stuff and if you decide to build the PC yourself then take your time with it.
What sort of budget do you have to play with anyway? I'm guessing since a Mac was recommended you will have quite a healthy budget to work off?
Yeah I do, but I like streaming and Drawing.
I play games but nothing fast paced, if that helps?
Thank you Btw ^^
@smoky flame
hmm seems like it might be worth looking at a streaming PC. As for drawing, that is awesome! Though all I really know is gaming.
For a streaming PC you generally want a CPU with at least 8 cores and two, maybe three monitors.
Not sure what you'd need for drawing but I'm sure someone in this server will know and point you in the right direction.
As for gaming, it sounds like you won't really need that powerful of a GPU to be able to enjoy gaming but PC does offer a lot of features that can make a gaming experience so much better
Anyone know why when I try to launch my games it brings me to the Microsoft store and brings up Gaming services?
It says I already have gaming services installed
Thank you so much 😊
gamer
Anyone got ark on pc here?
I have it. But haven’t played it since early access. Is it even out of early access?
i have
but that game requires some more resources
Add hebrew to package com.mojang.minecraftpe please
Friends and experience
Google and youtube are your best friends when it comes to learning
If you need any help feel free to dm me. I dont want you to buy an overpriced pre built
I finally think I’m finished my build on pat picker and I’m ready to save up for it
bazinga
Link?👀
probably won't stay that price long. Expect to see it hit 1.8-2K by the end of the month
Is it okay if I add you so I can find you?
Sure @torpid jewel
Can anyone help me with an issue??
I dont know can we? I need to know the issue frist..
so on my xbox app (win 10), I try to sign in. And a screen pops up which i believe to be the auth screen. But it blinks 3 times and closes.. I cant log in.
then i get "We cant sign you in right now, Try again later"
i would check to make sure the apps updated and maybe try repairing/reseting or reinstalling the app
Also Some other people are also reporting issues so there may just be a server issue so try again later
i've been having this issue for 2ish weeks
have you tried the above?
Sounds like an attempt to reinstall the xbox app or at least debug it could help. Have you replicated this issue on any other device?
I have the same problem at the moment, repairing, resetting and reinstalling doesn't work
Clorox said that a bat file provided to him by support flushed all xbox related products and that he's currently reinstalling
I hope it works for him, he could pass it to this server cause more people have this problem
@full flint keep us posted on your progress!
It worked. @Shermy#2519
Umm what why
People are actually gonna buy that thing
Some maybe yes
all this shortage still exists. People still waiting for 3080 they ordered way back in September and all Nvidia can do is release another two GPU that will likely only make that wait even longer meanwhile retailers freely up the price due to all this
in fact, I don't know if I can blame the shortage any more. Every time I see a mining rig with lots of these GPUs I question is it really a shortage or are Nvidia and co supplying miners before gamers? Every miner with there 10 GPUs or whatever that could have been 10 happy gamers but no... Nvidia really gets on my nerves and miners? don't even ask me what I think of them. The sooner mining is regulated and killed off the way it is now, the better for all and we'll see a miraculous improvement in GPU stock on shelves
I blame the ram shortage
Miners or not u cant get more supply than there is available
still, how on earth are these miners able to get 10 GPUs yet as soon as stock shows on most sites buyers are usually limited to one per customer. Something isn't adding up
I feel for the legit buyers that have had to wait since September on a 3080. I know one or two. Instead of them happily gaming by now Nvidia go and release a $1199 3080 Ti. Granted at that price it is a rip off (seriously, don't buy it) 5-10% improvement over a 3080 is hardly worth paying the excess (3080 MSRP was $699).
3080 to 3080 TI is basically the equivalent to buying a Titan card just a few generations back. Titans used to cost $1200 and the X80 Ti cards used to cost $649-699. That all changed from Turing and Ampere. $999 2080 Ti and $2400 Titan RTX, 3080 Ti $1199 and 3090 $1499 (Titan class GPU, no Titan for RTX 30 series at least not yet but knowing Nvidia there will be)
3080ti should have been $999, all prices should have been reduced
how much is the 3070ti?
$599 ... it should have been $499, with price reduction of the 3070 to $450 or $425
dang
for now
im thinking of a i7 and a 3060 ti for my build
Each generation, Nvidia is getting greedier and greedier, because there's no competition
yeah lol
someone should probably try and make a good GPU. no shame in a company making money if the market is willing to pay for it
The problem is.. starting it up... I mean, look at Intel, they poached the AMD guy... and still can't compete
apple makes a gpu, 2000000$ for 4 gigs of vram'
yeppers. the silicon tech is hard
there is competition. It's called AMD and I personally hope they wreck Nvidia soon. Some of the stuff I've heard coming from AMD is very exciting. FSR is just a start. They have far bigger plans
theyre doing quite well in the CPU game so far. i think they're beginning to apply that pressure
i have a rx 580 rn
many people really applauded the 580
Nah, AMD is definitely not competition sadly. They can never go mass... and also, they run so hot still... they aren't effiecient. They are focusing their efforts on CPU...which IMHO is their best bet
yup
yeah i recall their focus on APUs to be a thing. that was stifled out quickly (and arguably thankfully). interestingly enough we have Ryzen almost birthed out of that effort though
good comes from bad.
what do you guys say, ryzen 7 3700x or i7 10700k?
AMD's RDNA 2 cards seriously closed the gap on Nvidia
I'd rather buy a 6800 XT over a 3080
due to infinate cashe?
I dunno... I thought the APUs were interesting and great... I wish they refocused on that again...there's a market there... I have an AMD Ryzen 3 3200G on my side piece a Linux rig ... and that thing is beastly...
the winning factor me is now Nvidia's RTX tech being used for video production. the feature set that comes along with it are astounding as a creator
does it really matter if infinite cache helped them?
you know, thats a really good take, Victor. I just remember working at my repair shop and people being mad cuz they thought it could game compared to a discrete GPU
Man, I am a game dev... and I still think RTX is meh. And other than consoles... it's so not the effort to do it in most cases (at least not focus, unless they are paying)
maybe less for game dev. but for video creators its incredible
the effects i can pull off using RTX for double/green screening and adding some dope chroma on top. incredible
i just cant do it on AMD cards. it doesnt exist
AMD are applying v-cache on their next CPUs. That alone can boost performance by up to 15% and we aren't even talking a new generation CPU. Think this will be Zen 3 + v cache. Imagine Zen 4
As long as prices are about the same gen to gen, I would be fine with Zen 4... but I have a bad feeling AMD is going to do a price hike after their successes with Zen 2/3
I like my 3900X, I wish I could have gotten a 3900X (out of stock at the time), but I need a really really really great reason to go to Zen 4.
I see no problem with them doing that. At least AMD's core counts are impressive. Intel charging over $500 for an 8 core CPU in 2021 is just silly
athlon win
that same $500+ gets you a nice 12 core CPU with AMD
I had an 1100T back in the day... that thing was beastly
https://www.cpubenchmark.net/cpu.php?cpu=AMD+Phenom+II+X6+1100T&id=394 ... ahead of its day
I love my 5600X
would make things all the sweeter when I can get my hands on a 6800 XT. Upgrade from a 5700 XT. Enable SAM, FSR (from June 22nd) and RIS. I don't need ray tracing.

ayo, i have a question, for my laptop im trying to get new ram chips and storage, What do I need to know for getting the right ram for my laptop? I know u have DDr4 and DDR3 n stuff, are those the only differences in ram chips?
My laptop uses DDR4, so does that mean any DDR4 ram chip will work? And for SSDs, I believe i have an m.2 SSD, so will any other m.2 ssd for my PC work?
Laptop ram is different from desktop ram
oof
guys if you get dms and saying that someone accidentally reported you, its a scam
on steam
Yup.
If someone DMs you and there also on this server, please report it to ModMail.
What is a good Xbox series x monitor??

if you moved the captures folder they will be wherever that folder is
damn, talk of a whole new Windows already... is Windows 10 not enough?
Again?! 😯
yeah, talk of a release around the same time as Intel launch their Alder Lake CPUs - which might be this year!
eventually we'll get an entirely new windows that completely redoes the entire codebase from the ground up. but it'll be an absolutely mammoth undertaking given how windows is several million lines of code
the efficiency profile will return and a massive increase in performance along with it
Pretty sure Alder Lake is one of those big.LITTLE CPUs. Which would require all kinds of new scheduling features etc to be included in Windows for it all to make sense. I don't think the current scheduling would make sense of Alder Lake's cores
Zen4 this year
I don't think Zen 4 will be this year. Not with that V-Cache AMD announced. They could easily release that as a Zen 3 refresh and V-Cache gives them an additional 15% boost in performance. Zen 4 being it's own thing after that providing yet more performance gains and if V-Cache is added from the off with that could be looking at something like a 40% uplift over Zen 3
me saying I don't plan to upgrade until 2023/24 Zen 4 could be very tempting but I don't fancy buying into DDR5 too soon. Giving it at least one CPU generation so if that is Zen 4, regardless of all the improvements I'll still be skipping it in the hope that Zen 5 lowers DDR5 costs and makes for even more impressive gains yet. By that point too might be able to afford to go all out on a top end CPU. Not like I need 16 or 24 cores just now but hey, it's just nice to have and it would extend the time before I need to consider upgrading once again. Could probably get away with 5+ years going that route
My pc cant handle when the medium shows the spirit world 😔
My monitor is doing this for a while now and I have no idea what to do
It only does this flickering thing when I play games
I've deleted the display driver. Made sure the cables are in in. Changed to a different slot.
Hi is there any way i can watch my videos on xbox game bar in xbox app
what monitor is this and GPU you are using and when you say you deleted the display driver, what method did you use to do it?
gpu: rx 580
monitor: asus vp249
ok, so have you installed the latest drivers? Latest drivers should have fixes for any flickering behaviour. Also, make sure Freesync is enabled on both the monitor and within Radeon Software
there is a program I can suggest that might sort out the monitor. Try downloading CRU (custom resolution utility). After downloading go into the folder and select reset all and after that restart. That should clear up many things with the display
should look something like this inside the folder
Ohhh
Okay give me some time to do these things
Like I said it only happens when gaming
@azure flicker I am suspecting the cable also might not be too good anymore
yeah might go get a new one soon
It's not exactly a new Windows.
All it does is rename the 10 to just Windows
Didn't MS announce that W10 is final and they'll update it instead of a new version?
No.
yes
Yeah
I mean
Eventually
They’re gonna have to start from scratch
As architectures change, you can only do so much before you go “why aren’t we just building a new one”
Who here uses windows 7 still
I keep forgetting Render Scaling is a thing in games... Just tried it with Days Gone default is 100 and it scales to 10 or 200. Default with maxed settings and RIS enabled at 1440p I get between 60-80 FPS. If I lower the render scale to 50 (internal resolution is 720p) I get effectively double the performance - 120-160 FPS or there about. If absolutely every game had this render scale option I don't think I would be thinking of upgrading my GPU. A bit late for this though as FSR may have just killed this render scale
that same render scale option in a game like Cyberpunk 2077 would take my FPS that tends to sit around 40 FPS up to around 80 FPS. Now that is significant. Game may look a little blurry but it is a compromise until FSR is a thing or I upgrade my GPU and get that performance without having to drop render scaling and could instead be looking at something like 160 FPS in a game like Cyberpunk 2077 with FSR or render scale
im stuck on making things awesome someone help please i tried reseting i tried troubleshooting in its still stuck.
Can someone help me download DirectX 11 on my pc?
DirectX 11 doesn't need installing on a PC. If what you have doesn't somehow support DirectX 11 your only option would be to upgrade to something that does
So do I need a new pc?
possibly. What CPU and GPU you got?
@smoky flame I have no idea I haven’t played on this pc since 2018
Do you think I have to update the drivers?
yeah, you might want to update the drivers. I'd suggest clearing out the old drivers you are likely using and reinstall fresh drivers. Easy to do. Might also have a number of windows updates to do too. Sounds a more recent PC though so DirectX 11 should be fine and part of the system
I have no idea how to do that?
any idea what GPU you have? That would help for a start so I know what to say going forward with how to uninstall the drivers you are using and install updated ones. If 2018 was the last time you touched your PC you might want to start with updating Windows first. After that we can get around to sorting the drivers out
Anyone switched from playing Xbox their whole life to getting computer?
not quite Xbox all my life but up until 2016 all I knew was console gaming. Started off with Pokemon Yellow on the Gameboy when I was around 5 or 6, which at the time in 2016 would have been round 2001.
Saved up for my first gaming PC, which took me around a year (2015-16) after gathering all the parts I built it and got going with gaming on PC. Never really looked back since and learnt a lot in that time too
Specs I had back then: i7-6700K, 16GB (4x 4GB) 2666MHz RAM, Nvidia Geforce GTX 980 Ti (Reference), 250GB Crucial MX200 SATA SSD and a 2TB Western Digital Black HDD
now rocking a AMD Ryzen 5 5600X, 32GB (2x16GB) 3600MHz RAM, AMD Radeon RX 5700 XT (PowerColor Red Devil) and a 1TB Adata SX8200 Pro NVMe SSD
Ok i see you sub
yo
i had an xbox console and now i bought a pc from here i am installing forza 4 from the same account will the information in forza 4 in my console come on pc
cars inside
Yup. About a year ago I built my first PC and haven’t looked back.
For me there’s never been an either/or. Had both, played on both, still on both.
i
I played mostly mobile games, got an Xbox in 2016, got my first gaming PC in 2020
I still play on my Xbox I just use PC a lot more
As Rhine stated, Xbox has stuff on PC, and....

do you think a 144hz monitor (1080p or 1440p) will work well with an RX 580 8GB?
or should I wait and upgrade the GPU?
I was looking at buying the Samsung G5 with HDR for the Series X and my PC.
I know GPU prices are way high rn. 😢
Rx 580 is budget 1080 at this point
gotta be honest, I'm not the best with hardware. 😂
You arent getting a gpu if you dont backorder one now. Yea itll take a bit but youll get one. Msrp is trash atm though
if you can wait there may be a new Samsung Odyssey range out soon, equipped with IPS panels instead of VA. You'll lose the better contrasts VA panels have over IPS but gain better colour accuracy. Though it may mean a slight increase in pricing
in fact, I can confirm the whole range. I see them on the Samsung UK store. Wanted to be careful I wasn't headed into leak/rumour territory but seems it is safe to show these now

27" Samsung Odyssey G50A flat Gaming Monitor with QHD, IPS, HDR10, 165Hz refresh rate, 1ms response time, low input lag, FreeSync Premium, and is G-Sync compatible with height adjustable stand.
@full flint I would go 1080p. You may be able to push 144 in some very competitive demand games like csgo or Overwatch
But most games won’t hit close
I would try for a 1600 series card if you get the chance. They’re a little more prevalent on the market right now and aren’t getting price gouged as hard.
@smoky flame that G3 looks perfect! thanks.
Thanks @surreal moss I'll look into it, if I do buy a new GPU, my brother can have my old one 😂
seems the G3 is still VA but doesn't really bother me. Screen: 1920x1080 Resolution, VA Panel
yeah, just keep in mind VA suffers from a ghosting effect. Never know though, the G3 2021 might have fixed that if it ships with an updated panel. If not just try not let it distract you too much. Apparently it can be quite noticeable, which is concerning.
Another thing to keep in mind should you get it (idk when it is actually available, haven't even seen pricing) is make sure to update the monitor's firmware whenever a new update releases. These firmware updates should fix various issues and further improve the monitor so these are updates you are going to want to install.
Other than all that, if you go with an RX 580 things should just work seemlessly. Be sure to update the drivers, like the monitor as they come available and everything should be all good. Happy gaming! 🙂
I've been gaming on XBOX since 2015, only recently bought a gaming PC. thanks. 🙂
one additional thing I'd like to add. With the RX 580 you will soon be able to make use of FidelityFX Super Resolution. I'd rather not go into too much detail about it as I can have an awkward, and lengthy way of explaining things but pair that up with Radeon Image Sharpening (RIS) either within Radeon Software or in game and you should also see some nice improvements to in game FPS. FidelityFX Super Resolution becomes available from June 22nd
what GPU is that?
The Red Dragon 5700xt
Yes very good
nice, enjoy.
That's how I traded my original 5700xt for my 6700xt for free. I wanted the upgrade for gaming.
I'm still very tempted to do the same tbh but idk if I'll find many nearby that may want to trade 😦
Never know until you try
true that
how did the trade go for you anyway? Anything I should consider doing? I don't feel comfortable meeting people in public at the best of times, let alone inviting them over to my house and stuff
We just met up at a Target actually. Best case would be testing them both for each other but thankfully I got a good card. 😆
For the trade I just did on Friday we met at Microcenter
Local police stations have meet up areas now too
not sure that is a thing here but I should check. Surely it would be. I wonder if my Red Devil 5700 XT would allow me to be a bit more picky on the 6700 XT I go for, provided I find some
I got a 3 fan for my 3 fan.
I guess it depends how desperate a miner is haha
Oh yea that is a beefy card. You could probably get one like I did easy.
it blurry
theres a 69GB update on msfs for me, but the download speed is like 1mbit/s according to flight sim, so should I leave my PC overnight today, (theres a 80% chance of power going out while im sleeping, and my UPS cant possible give power backup till the time the power comes back because it gives me like 10mins maximum under less than 10% load)
and VERY likely that the power will go out for 20 mins minimum and around 3 hours maximum
should still be some improvement over standard resolution scaling. Both in quality and in performance. How do you know it's blurry anyway? I don't believe anyone outside AMD has seen FSR in action properly yet and the only thing everyone else would have had to go off was the reveal and comparisons, which considering YouTube videos are compressed once or twice isn't worth anyone comparing over YouTube. Even after that AMD are not using an AI so I expect it to be worse than DLSS, which didn't exactly start off well itself from what I remember
I think the big loser will soon be Nvidia. AMD are allowing GPUs as far back as RX 470 and 480 to use this feature and non RTX Nvidia GPUs like the 1060 but it is down to Nvidia to allow and optimize them for these features which Nvidia being Nvidia I can't see them doing
Hello. Do you guys know of any wired headsets that work well with both Xbox and PC?
Hey does anyone know why I can't play any games off Microsoft store? I installed a few and the icons turned white. Once I launch the game it takes me to the Microsoft store and comes up with "Gaming Services"
pretty much every wired headset should work with both Xbox and PC. Unless I've been under a rock or something without knowing both should use the same 3.5mm jack
Question is any display cable good in best buy and is above 10ft and where can I get longer power cables for the monitors
after a certain length of cable I think the picture quality takes a hit. I might be wrong or it is something along those lines but that is the reason why you likely won't see display cables over a certain length
Oh because I have my pc sitting on the floor on a stepper thing but the power cable is kinda not long enough
For now but once gpu supply is fully up and available nvidia might ve the winner with the 30 series being cheap for such performance
well yeah, it will be great to see everything up to the 3080 drop back to their MSRP price or really close to it but I don't think we'll be seeing that for some time... Not when the 3080 sells for £1500+ now. For reference it should cost $699/£699 (probably less after factoring in conversion from USD to GBP)
3080 Ti for $1199 and the 3090 $1499 is robbery. I could probably check Stock Informer right now and find some 3080 Ti stock and it won't be at £1199 anymore. It only launched last week! Damn these crazy times we live in right now 😦
no stock at one of the stores I check frequently but just as I thought... That Suprim card makes me sick!
I like AMD too and I think going forward I'll be sticking with them. Things look very exciting for AMD overall
Should I just send in my monitor back to asus and have it get looked at for the flickering. I did everything you said and it still flickers
there was one other thing I forgot to suggest. Not sure it will do anything but might still be worth a try. In Radeon Software, under Global Display settings enable GPU Scaling and see if that does anything. Other than that I don't think there is much else you can do really, unfortunately. Even my monitor shows flickering but it is pretty specific. Xbox app does it and when I play Football Manager 21 it can get pretty distracting but other than that I don't notice it anywhere else
might I also add, flickering may be yet another negative about VA panels. Some time ago I found a technical article on how VA panels work and I'm not sure I could confidently explain it to you without finding it again, at that point I'd probably be better off linking it to you.
Btw, does your monitor have any updates issued at all?
sometimes I really wish there was a monitor that had the best of IPS and VA and as few negatives as possible. The only thing that comes close would be OLED but OLED monitors cost way too much right now. Which leaves OLED TVs and the lowest size they go is 48" I believe which would be far too big of a screen for most PC gamers - though some have made it work and cost is still high but not quite as bad as the monitors that tend to cost over £3000 and are aimed at professionals
@smoky flame look into the lg 27gl850, super fast 1440p ips monitor
thanks for the suggestion but right now I'm not really looking for another monitor. Pretty happy with what I have got at the moment. That being a 2020 Samsung Odyssey G7 27". Only got it last year hope to get another year, maybe two out of it before I even think of upgrading it. Monitors should outlast PC upgrades - by that I mean at least one full system upgrade, which would be at least 3 years
you know what it might be my cables might go to best buy and get some new ones maybe that'll help
could be that, yeah. I wouldn't know where to start with buying new cables. A lot of it is marketing crap/snake oil so don't buy into some of the more expensive cables unless it is actually proven to work as advertised
yeah idk whats a good brand in best buy
Hello guys
hey guys
Ello
@smoky flame sorry to ping, when is that update out for the AMD drivers? later this month?
meant to be around June 22nd. Though there might be a driver update before that. Quite a while between now and then so every chance there is one marked 21.6.1 and another that features FSR marked as 21.6.2 after that. I don't miss a driver update and usually post it on here
cheers mate! 🙂
yay pc.
Im new to the Xbox to PC gaming thing DM me on what games you play. Im interested in trying some new games
I recommend Game Pass Ultimate. Library of games for Xbox and PC to choose from.
Ok ty hon
so i finally got my rgb stuff done i think, ill post the current look in the photo channel
I got to up my RGB now. Lol
I'm not bothering with RGB on my system. Could have all the lighting you want on it, make it look like Vegas on a desk but I'd rather let the specs do the talking
Thats fair
Why not both?
while i was playing as akuma i lost control the outcome of my fingers and i lost against my player opponent
because i suck at tekken 7 when it was my first time to play it
sorry i just doubted much
Is 89.99$ a good price for a new Xbox elite series 2 controller?
Uh
They’re like almost $200 so I’d check if you’re getting scammed
Unless you’re selling it brand new, in which case go higher
It doesn’t seem like a scam
this seller has no feedback. I wouldn't trust them
Well, it's used for a start. Pre-owned controllers are always a risk for many reasons.
Especially Elites, which may already have issues right out of the box brand new.
And yes, also that. Zero feedback, not worth the risk. I know everyone has to start somewhere with their first sale, but risky with an expensive item.
Anyways I do have the eBay Money Back Guarantee if worst comes to worst I’ll just get my money back
He could always ask for in-person sale, if he's near the seller.
Tekken player 😳
On pc or xbox?
RGB parts often cost extra. It's one area I feel if I can keep it to a minimum I can put whatever I save back into my system. Could end up being the difference between a slightly faster CPU, GPU, RAM or NVMe SSD what is saved. Just my way of thinking though
outside of my fans being blue (poor choice from the past, lol) and my GPU lighting up red (Red Devil, can change that or disable it altogether) that's really all the lighting that is on my system. Already disabled my motherboard's aura lighting (Asus B550 Strix-E)
why did my pc froze while opening xbox game bar ???
with my pc budget, it was about 3.7k cad, so i have the specs but i also have the rgb, maybe its not a 3080 but it seems like if i waited i wouldnt have anything so im happy with the 2060s
i just like colors too so i didnt mind paying a bit more for it
i think the rgb cost wouldve been somewhere in the 400-500 range
LG been exposed by Hardware Unboxed for dodgy review practices. Good on these guys for yet again standing up to these manufacturers that try to control how they release content. They exposed Nvidia last year too. Sucks that manufacturers may actually blacklist them over being exposed like this but reviews should be honest and fair and I believe HUB's coverage of LG products have been mostly positive - without being sucked into the manufacturers ways
@smoky flame sorry for the ping but dude i fixed it the flickering and it was underneath my nose the whole time
I'm not sure that will make much of a difference. Variable refresh rate is effectively Freesync and it should be enabled in most games automatically. I've never had to enable or disable that option for Freesync, or VRR to work as intended
tbh though, I might try it for the odd programs where I do see flickering on my monitor and see if that fixes those. Thanks for the heads up and if it does work for you glad you found a fix to your problem 🙂
Still seem to notice flickering or some odd behaviour when using the Xbox app on my end 😦
idk man pc troubleshooting is like whack a mole while asking other people as they whack a mole too

haha too true that
Hey sub should i get 32 gigs of ram?
have you tried the Xbox app to see if you get flickering on there too? That and Football Manager 21 were the only programs I noticed visible flickering on my display and might I add, my display has been widely known to have flickering issues
32GB, as I've found out is pretty overkill tbh
loading mech game ill see if that works
So what your saying is 64 gigs of ram
i have 32GB of ram and no problems here
okay sub im not running into the flickering so i guess its fixed
I think 32 is a good size
none of the games I play have even fully worked 16GB. One or two of them did get close but if all you plan on doing is gaming 16GB should be fine. 32GB+ for stuff like video editing, livestreaming etc
Can you video edit and all that with intel processors
I agree with sub. That’s why I say 32 is a good size. Lol
32GB would be more of a future proofing option (for gaming) but I hate to use that word with PC hardware
okay its flickering on the gamepass game but not that much
if we could 24GB should have also been an option seeing as most games barely pass 16GB as it is the ones that do surely won't pass 24GB but that would require a 3rd stick of RAM that won't be the same, unless you happen to get quad stick kit and only use three and idk if that will impact stuff like dual channel support etc
Bro why is my ram usage is high even tho i've 8gs of ram , is 8gb ram not enough these days?
No
8GB I'd say is on the low end, minimum now even if you are gaming. Standard activities like browsing etc 4-8GB should still do. Just beware of Chrome using it all lol
@jagged osprey most modern games and apps are moving to the assumption you have at least 16
btw, I got some good news. Looks like I may be able to get a 6800 XT soon!
Nice!
givb

YAS
pc
whats your rank and region
on top of getting a 6800 XT I might try to also get an LG OLED TV that supports HDMI 2.1 to go with it. Somewhere in between I might also try to get my hands on a calibration device so that I can take the image quality up a notch or two as well. This could be epic!
do it, you won't regret OLED
hi
the only issue I feel I might have going with an OLED TV is the size of the screen. 48" is almost double what I am gaming with right now and in some way I fear it would look real awkward being so close to it
crazy thing is though I could potentially buy the 6800 XT I want, an LG OLED TV and calibration device and it still wouldn't come to the cost I've seen 3090 sell for here lately! (£2599!!!)
New keyboard, custom made
Lmk if y’all want specs
https://imgur.com/a/Vunti4x
My pc. Ignore the one blue sleeved cable. I ordered the wrong extensions and wasn’t supplied with a 6pin in white
Will fix it later on
Is that the LG CX I assume?
yep, I need to look into it a bit more so by no means I'm definitely going for one. Right now it is just an idea but after I get the 6800 XT it should pair up nicely, should I go for it
ah fair enough
if I don't bother I stick with a monitor I still like and will save around £1000 that I would have spent if I went for the OLED tv.
Would mean I can still get the calibration device and I could make the most out of my monitor instead. May be the better option tbh. 1440p 240Hz and a 6800 XT with SAM, FSR and RIS enabled should be good.
I could maybe even consider trying out some ray tracing, though my stance on ray tracing remains as it has been since the launch of Nvidia's Turing GPUs. Not interested in it (at least not yet)
Nvidia is dropping support for Windows 7 and Windows 8 later this year. Drivers will only be available for Windows 10 in October. Details: https://t.co/7nxJXpTEYU

@past eagle looks good!
Question, how can I play the games I have on my 360/One on the PC?
you can remote play your xbox one to pc using the xbox companion app
You cannot play Xbox 360 consoles that way though.
The only way to do that is to use a capture card device with passthrough functionality
@full flint Thank you for explaining that too me. Saved me a headache figuring out something that doesn’t work.
Alternatively, you can use backwards compatibility or plug the 360 into the Xbox One with an HDMI cable
Downloaded Yakuza: Like a Dragon from the PC Game Pass and not long into it I suffer a CTD (crash to desktop) 😦
I need a better monitor for my Xbox series x? What’s a good one to handle all the series x has to offer
just now there aren't really any but HDMI 2.1 monitors will be out in the wild soon. Your best bet if you want something just now would be a TV that supports HDMI 2.1
I hope they come out soon. But thanks for the help I appreciate it @smoky flame
Yes. But at that rate is considered "Xbox One" game. You cannot broadcast using TV Input on Xbox One
So using the HDMI-In does not work
Lg oled
4k 120hz hdr
look for these things
u could also get a 60hz or 1440p monitor
There's currently only one monitor capable of 4K/120 and that is a 43" expensive beast. The rest with HDMI 2.1 support and more reasonable monitor sizes aren't due to release until later this year.
But don't expect much in the way of HDR for monitors.
1440p 120hz seems most reasonable or 4k 60hz
get ready to upgrade Windows once again and pretty soon by the sounds of things. https://www.techpowerup.com/283340
Microsoft has revealed the date when support for Windows 10 is going to end - effectively confirming that their original vision of Windows 10 being "the last Windows OS ever" is now dead. The information comes from Microsoft's own update to Windows 10's support life cycle page, which the c...
Hey, I’m hoping someone can help me…so on gamepass for pc it says that Fallout New Vegas’s install size is a whopping 46.94 gigs when on Steam or when looking it up it says 10ish gigs, what’s with this?
When I try pressing install it says I need to make more space so it’s definitely not just that they wrote it wrong
Oh wait this prolly goes in support, sorry
MS announced when they'll kill off Windows 10
death
Not gonna miss Windows 10 tbh, I hope next Windows release won't come with Telemetry nor Microsoft Store
A person can hope, right?
Tell ya what: as soon as Apple turns off the same on iPhone and iPadOS and macOS and tvOS, I'll file a bug for ya.
Lol
I don't mind the Microsoft Store personally and idk what to think of the whole telemetry thing. Really doesn't seem as big a thing as some make it out to be. Those that attempt to disable the telemetry stuff within Windows likely go on to create far more problems for themselves and their experience of Windows
I think the biggest challenge for a product the size of Windows is how in the heck do you test it?
I mean endless peripherals, drivers, applications, user scenarios, usage patterns...
Helps to know when something is going wrong in the field.
yeah, in a sense support should ask users if they have disabled telemetry on their system. Idk if they do already as I've hardly ever had to contact support. Last time I can remember doing it was maybe in 2018 but anyways, having no telemetry data as you mentioned likely makes support's job a lot tougher to find an issue and the best solution would probably be at that point to do a fresh install of windows - which i bet a lot of users dread those words but they probably wouldn't have to do that if they never messed with stuff they likely had no clue about in the first place
early on I was one of these ones that used to follow all sorts of performance enhancing guides. To this day idk if any of them actually done anything besides causing more problems than good. Anything from the simple turn this off/on right to registry/group policy "tweaks". Now I'd rather just install Windows, uninstall as much of the bloat that comes pre-installed and get to downloading games and having fun
That's literally why Insider exists. Problem with Telemetry is not privacy, it consumes system resources like hell.
does it though? I don't notice my system crawling to a halt over telemetry. Maybe some users have that issue but perhaps on their end an upgrade is in order? Modern CPUs should be able to handle quite a lot being thrown at them.
Should.
And Insider is what? couple million people that signed on to be cool and won't actually test much? Windows runs on over 1 billion devices now 🙂
won't the more recent CPUs, the ones with scheduler support also be able to better manage tasks like telemetry too?
It's not just the CPU, it's also the Internet. If you live in a country where upload speeds are capped below 1MB per seconds you can't afford that data transfer.
I know that's not MS issue but it's still inconvience. If that data was really THAT important, they wouldn't add option of closing Telemetry entirely on Enterprise versions
It is important.
Those settings are for Enterprises that have... special needs.
But from a privacy perspective, everything has to run worldwide, so it's been vetted on multiple levels for safety.
Telemetry shouldn't be taking that much data bandwidth, unless there's a serious bug.
In aggregate, telemetry helps inform what features people are using and which ones just aren't worth keeping around anymore
cough SNAP cough
Someone mentioned snap drink
anyone got company of heroes on pc
guys, any way to fix the game list bug on GP PC? the games doesn't get removed even if I uninstall them, but only on the "custom" list setting and not on the A>Z and Z>A one
Fun Fact for you people: Windows 10 is going away only in name!
the next Windows is still Windows 10 but with a new interface and a name change!

watching Hardware Unboxed's roundup of Intel B560 motherboards really caught me by surprise as to how poor the majority of those boards are. If anyone goes for an 11th gen Intel CPU avoid most of these motherboards

lol yea...Intel. xD
I love my Aorus Pro Wifi x570
The built in IO shield is SO good.
Idk what you’d expect from Intel.
I like my B550 Strix-E motherboard though watching back Hardware Unboxed's B550 motherboard roundup from a few months back kind of got me wishing I went with the Aorus Master. That board was so overkill in it's VRMs it swept the charts in all testing, even something with a CPU as crazy as the 3950X. I won't have been at all surprise to learn it repeated the feat with Ryzen 5000 CPUs too
tbh they have made a few videos on B560 Intel boards already but yeah I should have expected this from Intel.
They’re the budget line for a reason lol
wasn't AMD's B550 range meant to be budget, at least compared with X570? yet most of those motherboards seem to run a 16 core CPU just fine
there's budget then there is Intel budget I guess...
Sorta
B and X for AMD have different strengths and focuses, B usually being less expensive because they’re not full out feature boards
B and H for intel is more about what can we cut out to bring the price down
And boy do they cut things out
the H Intel boards are the ones much closer to the Z boards right? I don't think Hardware Unboxed has covered them (yet). Must be pretty frustrating doing all that testing though. I think I remember during the video I linked above they mentioned having to do 4 separate tests since they used 4 different CPUs and in rare instances they had to double test to check consistency of results.
No
Z are like what the X is for AMD
But it can vary. There’s Z that are $200 and $1000
and these Z boards are also best equipped for Intel's unlocked CPUs correct? All those with the K/KF at the end
Yes
Usually
There’s one or two Z series boards out there that are not worth the price and are big sad
Which is why I said it can vary. You can have a higher priced H/B board and a lower priced Z board and they could compare pretty closely
Then a more expensive Z knock everything out of the water
I'm going to see if Hardware Unboxed done a video on X570 boards and how they done. Obviously it will be much older so likely no Ryzen 5000 data but curious to see how X570 compares to B550 when handling a CPU with up to 16 cores
Usually pretty closely if the B550 is a good quality
The X boards were originally designed for crossfire applications then switched to more of a feature focus once that died out
So theyre like b550s usually with a couple more power phases and pcie lanes
Both literal slots and technical lanes
Some manufacturers have started to come out with B450 V2 boards and they’re actually the real hidden gem right now of motherboards
that B550 Aorus Master I mentioned likely makes most of the X570 line up look bad. Think I do recall Hardware Unboxed mention the X570 version cost some $700 (Aussie Dollars I guess?) can find the B550 version for £230 right now
It depends on the manufacturer and the board itself
Just like the Z
Obviously the Z590 Maximus hero from asus and then a regular z590-F gaming whatever they call it are wildly different boards
I'd sure hope they were. Maximus tend to add even further to the already Asus ROG premium pricing
You can have an X570 from gigabyte be just a regular average board and then another one comes along and they’re like YO $1400 MOBO WITH A BUILT IN WATER BLOCK
And you’re like why would anyone buy this
It’s the same deal
yeah, that's exactly what I'm like with those waterblock boards, lol. $1400 is bonkers money to pay for a motherboard
It’s best to just research boards using manufacturers specification sheets. The lines between boards are very grey right now
Most I'd probably go, provided it supported all the features I look for is around £300 and that I believe, outside of getting it second hand or in a sale would still not cover either Intel Maximus Asus boards or AMD Crosshair Asus boards. Hero being the one I'd of course be eyeing up
General rule of thumb, just don’t buy and H or B board
And if you go AMD, you’ll be fine with 90% of the boards anyway
So there’s not much to worry about or stress over
yeah, and I'm not looking for a new system. Pretty content with my recent upgrade though I might pass this build to my brother and go for something crazy later. Yet again I feel I made a few errors this time minor but still something I want to correct, when given the chance
5950X (maybe one with that V-Cache AMD recently announced), 32GB DDR4 RAM. Still can't decide on whether to go 2 stick or 4 and SR or DR. Aorus Master (moving away from Asus boards!) 1TB gen 4 SSD FireCuda 520 and a 6800 XT is the idea I have
oh, also going to try to stick with air cooling, even with a 5950X though idk how that will go. Probably be best to go for something like the BeQuiet DRP4 or Noctua D15. Surely one of those will keep that monster of a CPU cool without having to touch an AIO or custom loop
does anyone here use game pass for pc, I have an issue with launching fallout 3 through it
Fallout 3 just has issues with PC in general, think especially with Windows 10. You may want to look up issues people have on PC with it to see a fix.
can someone help me connect my xbox controller to my pc
for some reason when i plug it in with the usb to micro-usb cable it just flashes and doesnt connect
Try pressing some buttons on the controller. I sometimes have to do that on MCC to let it know I’m using controller
Isn't Z pretty much B but with OC support?
I remember trying to play Fallout 3 a while back (Steam version). Eventually got it working but it took some figuring out. I don't even know if this version of Fallout 3 will allow what I had to do to get it to work
They say GoG version is actually decent, I'll buy New Vegas from there and see if I can get it run.
New Vegas should run fine. Fallout 3 was the issue or more specifically, the now defunct service, Games for Windows - Live that used to stop me from being able to play the Steam version some time ago
Nah man, I got so many crashes at the beginning I deleted it. Fallout 3 worked for me decently after 2-3 bugfix mods. I never had crash on it, not even once
heh that sounds two very different experiences we had then. I'm almost certain I was able to download Fallout NV + all its DLC and get right into the game. Fallout 3 had me jump through hoops to try and get it to work. From that day on any game that is of a similar age I check to see if it requires the same fix or something else and I simply don't bother. Would rather a game just works after installing. None of the faffing about.
My New Vegas experience is this:
-Ok so created my character and got the tutorial, going good so far
-Ah so this town is having issue... wait why it got crashed? No biggie
-So sol... crash again? Wel... wait it crashed after entering that bar? What the hell?
-After 3239213821 crashes screw this I ain't playing this piece of trash game
I'll give it one more chance now because I'm looking for a RPG game to play
I feel like giving Fallout 4 another go. One thing about Fallout games as far back as Fallout 3 (when I played it on the 360) with me is I've never really got far with them. Something about them just put me off
K
It makes me wonder how Intel’s dedicated will release and perform in comparison, as well since Intel owns its own fabs

same here. Bots and scalpers and a "lack of stock" yet recent figures suggest miners had no issues snapping up 700,000 GPUs...
who would be the happier? 700K gamers with new GPUs or 70K miners with 10 GPUs each that as soon as their mining bubble crashes most of them sell up and turf out these GPUs like trash
Yeah I need to order a hdd for my dad's computer so I can install windows into it. Idk if his 90s gpu card will boot up but damn I was so surprised when it went in
To be honest the reason my dad has a almost complete pc is because I gave him my old parts from my first build. I just needed a gpu but then the fire nation attacked
Can someone play with me
@smoky flame I’m thinking of getting the Acer predator Orion i7 that has a intel core processor i7-10700 processor, octa core processor 2.9GHz to burst of 4.8GHz. 16GB DDR4 and 2TB HDD with 512GB SSD… HDD speed of 7200RPM… nvidia RTX 3060Ti with 8GB and GDDR6 memory
try the #587074461770186765 channel
that sounds a pretty decent system. How much is it and what alternatives are there for similar?
Also, was it you that asked about PC or laptop earlier? Personally I'd always go for the desktop. If you have the space and in more normal times building a PC was often better than going prebuilt or laptop. Though in the here and now prebuilds are ok, I guess. Custom prebuilds are another option. Laptops you often pay extra and their portability is useful, you can take it places with you (just be sure to take the charger!) but the components within have less area to allow cooling to really take effect and will often result in a hotter running system. Maybe even a system that is throttling.
I’ve got very little space at the moment, and it’s £1,799… I currently got a gaming laptop that i use whenever i can to play pc games on
well, doing a run through of the specs of the system you might find the 10700 a little lacking. Mostly due to it being a locked processor. There is no option to overclock it. The 8 cores is nice to have though.
16GB DDR4 is good, any idea of the speed of it? Since there is a locked CPU in the system I'm going to take a wild guess it is 2666MHz, that is pretty slow and tbh, I'm not entirely sure how much Intel CPUs scale off RAM frequncy anyway so it might not matter too much, at least with that CPU.
Storage is good, excessive perhaps. Plenty of space for a whole lot of games though you might want to ditch the SSD and HDD pretty quick if they are both SATA and later opt for an NVMe SSD. They cost more but are so much faster and load times as a result are improved in pretty much every area.
Finally, the GPU. 3060 Ti is an odd one, has 8GB GDDR6, meanwhile the weaker 3060 has 12GB GDDR6 but is faster than it in every way. Depending on what resolution you plan to play at and the games you play you have access to features like ray tracing and DLSS. Ray tracing you will probably find is very taxing on your system on its own but DLSS will save it and DLSS can also improve a game's performance where there is no ray tracing present.
What is your laptop specs?
Ohh jezz that’s a user’s manual on its own lol
It’s just to start off with while i get better at understanding the stuff
heh sorry about that! 😅

DDR5 launches in june
shame there won't likely be any hardware that can actually use it for a few more months. Even then I already got asked about DDR5 on another server and told them to hold off really. Current spec for DDR5 I've seen is 4800MHz CL40 which is going to be pretty slow. That CL will likely be improved on within the next 6 months to year and with it pricing (reportedly $399 for 32GB DDR5 4800MHz CL40 RAM) should slowly improve too
Rx 570 but its for free soo ill take it
nice
ddr is always pricey on launch, best to wait a bit id say
itll be nice when its like 100$ per 16gb or so
Howdy
woo! first non beta BIOS update for my motherboard in around 3 months. Seems quite a hefty one too. Improves stability, fixes to USB have been made and stuff from both AGESA 1.2.0.2 and 1.2.0.3 has also been applied.
First boot into the BIOS since updating and the mouse seems a lot better. Can actually move around the BIOS freely. Before it was very choppy so i guess that confirmed I had USB issues and this BIOS went and fixed that

what do you mean it just broke? What's your PC's specs?
ahh, I'm not too good with laptops. Sorry 😦 Sounds like it might be something to do with the storage though. Make sure when you are in the boot manager it is detecting the storage used for booting into the OS
Ok
if it doesn't detect any storage then there is your problem, could be the storage is dead. If there is something there try selecting it and booting up properly

Just a quick question, which is a better value, Steam sales or Xbox Game Pass? I'm not here to start an argument by the way. So, no worries. =3
Game Pass games come and go (with the exception of first party titles) but the value is great. Steam sales can be good value too but you are hardly going to find a recent release for the price of a single month's game pass (£7.99) so if that game happens to be on game pass and isn't due to leave in the next month or whatever game pass is way better value, not to mention you have access to hundreds of other titles too. I don't even think a sale can be directly compared to something like the game pass tbh
go for it. Series X is good and the way things are with shortages and covid still PC remains in quite a mess. Consoles are also affected so even after you can afford one, it may not be right away you can actually buy one. Avoid scalpers too. Series X is meant to retail around £500 don't be paying any more than that unless bundled with extras. Oh and have fun when you do get it! 🙂
Thanks

I have a question. If I were to get a pc monitor and hook it up to my Xbox One S, how would I go about hooking up external speakers? I was thinking of getting a monitor with a 3.5mm jack in it and hooking some Logitech’s up through that. Would that work?
If the monitor has an audio output.

New xbox app sucks big time. When my entire pc is lagging trying to open it, you need fix it
Does anyone know how to connect a Xbox controller to pc wirelessly?
Bluetooth
If your pc doesn’t have native Bluetooth, you need to buy the Xbox dongle
And native blue tooth is found in device manager ?
It’s part of your pc’s built-in functions
You either bought a computer that has Bluetooth
Or you bought a computer that doesn’t have Bluetooth
Settings > devices > Bluetooth and other devices
Can't you just buy a bluetooth dongle if you haven't got bluetooth?
^
even if your controller has bluetooth?
Depends on the controller, but I always recommend the Xbox dongle to ensure compatibility and performance
ah fair
If they go out and buy a $5 cheap dongle and nothing works, that’s on them

I have a question:
Im a PC only player, I would like to purchase game pass. But I am seeing that for PC its only a month $1 and then $9.99 after
But I did see that there is Game Pass Ultimate for PC and Xbox and its 3 months for $1 and then $9.99 after. Can I purchase the Game Pass Ultimate and before the 3 months end change it to PC Game pass only? So I get to enjoy the 3 months and then keep my PC game pass only
Why would it matter if it’s the same price every month?
3 months for $1 vs 1 month for $1.
But yes, you can cancel ult and switch to pc only.
Yes
Thank you! What its the workaround? I just have to be aware of my billing date and cancel then Join back as PC-only?
Basically
Thank you!
Yeah what I’m asking is why he would want to switch back to Pc only if it costs the same?
That isn’t what the dude said but k
Yeah well he doesn’t control the prices
Was going off the info he gave. I don’t have an Xbox price ticker going across my screen at any given moment so I assumed he saw some deal. 🤷🏼♂️
the microsoft flight simulator installer wont install no matter what i do
damn, 21.6.1 released over night. Sneaky AMD! https://www.amd.com/en/support/kb/release-notes/rn-rad-win-21-6-1 FSR is here!!!
in other news, you won't be able to install 21.6.1 if you have any of these GPUs (or APUs with Radeon Graphics) https://community.amd.com/t5/blogs/product-and-os-support-update-for-radeon-software-adrenalin-21-6/ba-p/477423
Beginning with the release of Radeon™ Software Adrenalin 21.6.1 today, we are moving the following graphics products to a legacy model, with no additional driver releases planned. Their final supported driver will be Radeon Software Adrenalin 21.5.2. Additionally, Radeon Software support for Windows...

Tomorrow is the anouncement of next Windows version, right? Anyone excited?
I'm always excited about updates and stuff. Might be one of few that will actively search for updates and install them, as long as they are not in beta anyway. Those can wait
Im not excited for windows 11, I still use windows 7.

I know it hasn't released yet. but did they state they'd fixed any of those issues there (other than the ones he said they were fixing)
a TON of stuff was added/fixed in firmware updates, since they made it easy to flash
As Chief Blur Buster I want to personally confirm that I assisted Eve with strobe tuning. I completed my strobe tuning work this week. Talk about tight timing! Guys my cousin is on a 400-600 budget on a pc ( Dont even know if thats possible ) and need help
6800 XT I managed to get yesterday cost me £1200...
Wow
This is the weirdest woosh moment
especially since those were the cards you were waiting for due to their lower cost-higher performance ratio
Shhhhh
yeah, I don't intend to ever spend as much as I did on a GPU again.
I mean. I would..if the gpu was actually strong enough to be worth that much
that card is far from it
but shortage leaves us with little options
yup, I would have waited but no telling how long I may have been waiting to get this so I jumped at the first opportunity I had. Already waited 7 months. Will very soon be in my possession and tbh I think it is a pretty strong GPU. It directly competes with an RTX 3080 outside of ray tracing so I'll be extremely happy. Not to mention the same store I got my 6800 XT from is selling 3080 for £500 more!
2023 is when the shortage is slated to end
ok, yeah. sorry. getting rid of the 3080 was a foolish mistake
huh?
Hello can anyone help me find a good pc that can handle gaming and streaming but I’m going to be playing war zone and it requires a certain amount of system requirements and if it can be a budget than that will be perfect please and thank you!
Most PCs can handle that
Just depends how many frames you wanna get, at what resolution, and how good you want your stream to look, all at the same time
Really at @surreal moss because im clueless with PCs and I need something that can handle good streaming qualitie and if I wanted to stream at 1080 than I need something good lol
I’m just really struggling finding something you know
Buy a 2080, or 3070, or any card greater than those two
Cpu of at least 6 cores 12 threads
Use the GPU to do the stream encoding
Done deal
Can I dm you too show you a pc if it’s good ?
Just list the cpu, ram, and GPU here
Kk
Intel Core i7-10700F (4.8 GHz Turbo) (16-Thread) (8-Core) 2.9 GHz——8GB DDR4 ——600W Digital Storm Performance Series (Supports up to an NVIDIA RTX 2070 GPu
Is that good @surreal moss
No, you’re only getting 8gb of ram
You want at least 32 for a one pc streaming setup
for reference. my computer idles at 9gb
Is it just the ram that’s not good? @surreal moss
Well there’s no GPU listed
Does it even come with one
Overall, I would get a bigger pc
The processor is good but that seems to be the only thing
Honestly idk even know lmao I told you I’m clueless @surreal moss
Intel Core i7-10700F (4.8 GHz Turbo) (16-Thread) (8-Core) 2.9 GHz——8GB DDR4 ——600W Digital Storm Performance Series (Supports up to an NVIDIA RTX 2070 GPu——-ASUS / MSI / ASRock (Intel Chipset) (Up to 2x PCI-E Devices)——-1x GeForce GTX 1650 4GB
Sorry if it’s a mess @surreal moss
Same pc
Man I give up it’s late at night and I’ve been trying to find a pc but I’ll just check next time but thanks for everything bro @surreal moss
It’s hard to find things right now
We are still in the middle of a silicon shortage
But no problem
Oh one more thing @surreal moss is Alien ware worth it?
Okay thanks
ehh no biggie. I bought it once I have it I no longer have to concern myself with trying to buy one. Spooky how it all played out though it was like it was meant to be. Store near-ish to me had one and I was quick enough to snag it. Also comes with a 24 month store warranty should anything go wrong with it. Beats buying off ebay or that imo
howw do u get that
Wym @wary steeple
cough cough, that GPU has 8gb Vram
are the ea play games on the game pass only playable for 10 hours?
An rx 580 has 8gb. Still a budget af card
just by testing my 6800 XT Red Devil on Cyberpunk 2077 with ray tracing and everything maxed and ultra without ray tracing both at 1440p.
Ray tracing + maxed settings I was getting around 20 FPS and the game decided to crash on me, lol.
ultra settings without ray tracing I followed the same route I wandered and got between 73-100 FPS. Now that is nice!
Only the games that aren't released yet but have been added to EA Play have the 10 hours limit.
If you want to play, for example, Mirror's Edge Catalyst, you can freely spend any amount of time you want.
Wait amd gpus have rtx now?
Yes, though not RTX, just Raytracing (RTX is just Nvidia's way)
only the RDNA 2 GPUs, yeah

Can someone help when i download a game it stuck at 0% and says "preparing"
Anyone know how I can move games to a different install location?
Windows Settings > Apps > Move
Different game storefronts also have different internal methods
found it, thanks heaps
But that works for loose installs from things like GOG and the Microsoft Store
Steam make sure you go into a game’s options in library and move local files
yeah steam makes it a lot more user friendly
it doesn't have those features in the xbox app
Yeah. Hopefully it’ll be added sometime in the future. It’s a nice QOL
yep....well aware. Still better than playing on console though
Even though I have seriesX
At what extent is it really much better though. That game’s curve is…rough
SBMM out the wazoo
Well I don't have the best TV for competitive gaming so, I want all da framez
60 just doesn't cut it
I mean it's fine when I play beautiful RPGs
Sucks that Warzone runs at 30 ticks
Not on PC 😎
Ticks are server
wel
It runs that on all
crap
How many times the server refreshes data
Hz are display refresh. And fps are software frame outputs
Tickrate in Warzone is just outright rough haha
Still a smoother experience overall on PC I reckon. But this is just specific in terms of my personal setup
It is
But yeah. Those odd instances where you fell you should have had a kill were the low tick
My TV is weird man I can have 120hz on 1080p or 4k 60hz
there's no 1440p option
or at least something in between
1440p isn't very common on TVs
Unless it's a TV designed with gaming in mind, you'll get 1080p and 4K.
Can’t wait for that new ROG Monitor
what one?
ASUS ROG Strix 43” 4K HDR DSC Gaming Monitor (XG43UQ Xbox Edition) - UHD (3840 x 2160) 144Hz 1ms HDMI 2.1 Extreme Low Motion Blur Sync FreeSync™ Premium Pro DisplayHDR1000 DCI-P3 90, Coming Soon. October 2021, 43-inch 4K (3840 x 2160) DSC gaming monitor Xbox Edition ultra-fast 144Hz
DisplayHDR1000

That monitor ticks all my boxes
ooh that is cool. Far better price than any of their Gsync ultimate monitors tend to be too. Says Xbox edition but my new GPU has HDMI 2.1 support. Wonder if I can use that and if it has the full 48GB/s bandwidth most displays tend to lack
4k, 120 and dHDR800+
It’s also HDR10
Might even be 12 bit
But unsure as the specs aren’t too in depth right now
no sites that do go more in depth with the specs?
It was only announced a day or two ago now
At Xbox, we’ve long believed providing choice to our players is a critical part of the gaming experience. ahh, I see but I'm sure that monitor is familiar. Don't Asus do another one like it we could base things around? Could be all that is included is HDMI 2.1 support
CableMatters also has a fiber optic HDMI2.1 available that was designed for Xbox as well
Look at spec sheet. It’s something they’ve done individually. But it’s 2xHDMI2.1, 2x2.0, some DP1.4
And the size and monitor specs
HDR1000 and HDR1400 are new specs
On average monitors are HDR600 OR “HDR”400
Your G7 is 600
That there is 400 more nits of brightness
Which leads to an exponential contrast increase
and HDR1000 from what I remember you saying is where HDR really starts/gets good. Wonder if it has FALD too
may have found some more specs for this monitor https://rog.asus.com/uk/monitors/above-34-inches/rog-strix-xg43uq-model/spec
43 inch, 4K UHD (3840x2160), 144Hz, FreeSync™ 2 HDR, Adaptive Sync, Aura Sync, DSC
this or an LG OLED (C1) I really can't make up my mind now 😄
yup and so far only available on another Asus monitor, PG32UQX that costs over double this one. Could buy both the XG43UQ and an LG OLED and still have some spare cash after it!
hmm that first link you posted with the Xbox edition says coming October 2021. I searched for what I guess is not the Xbox edition and one retailer here in the UK is getting them in August
guess I'll be on the lookout for more info on two things with this Asus monitor. Does the DisplayHDR1000 spec allow for it to use FALD and is the HDMI 2.1 port full bandwidth. Awkwardly, should this monitor support 12 bit it would require DSC since 4K 120Hz and 12 bit just exceeds the full bandwidth of HDMI 2.1. Nothing DSC couldn't sort though!
by just exceeding I'm talking 48.11GB/s. Full HDMI 2.1 spec is 48GB/s
43inch is TV-size to me 😄
It's a DSC monitor
yup, I know
It's UEFI, x64 and TPM 2.0 exclusive apparently, first two ones are ok I guess but TPM 2.0 is relatively new right? How many computers will be able to upgrade it?
Ah it's 2015 not that old
oh no oh no no no no not today

welp, at the =very least I will be getting something 😉
what even is TPM 2.0 and why would it be needed for an OS install?
I wonder how many users even know how to enable TPM on their system should windows 11 keep that requirement on public release. Not every device comes with it enabled
I think it would enable itself upon installation
KILL XBOX
Btw Windows 10 has an app for seeing your TPM version, type "tpm.msc" in search
haven't got TPM enabled so shows this but thanks! 🙂
I'm also guessing since TPM seems to be a requirement for Windows 11 that other options within Windows Security - Device Security may be too. This is how the setting looks for me just now but luckily I know how to enable most of the options. Curious to know what other options there are in this device security menu that I might not be aware of and can use if it really does increase the level of security at a hardware level
What's your CPU?
5600X
Only the support of TPM is required to install, not having it enabled.
Ah, you're good then.
I see, well that is good then
Almost all CPUs past 2015 have TPM2 support.
All AM4 AMD ones and all (except all Atom and some mobile Pentium) Intel ones.
the CPU and motherboard I had before upgrading to this 5600X and B550 might have been a rare instance where it wasn't supported, somehow. 6700K and Asus Maximus VIII Hero Alpha. I believe around that time most motherboards had a sort of dedicated chip for hardware TPM or something like that. Well somehow that motherboard I had did not, despite being a very high end board at the time
RIght right right
anyone know of a good mighti could purchase arount £50-£80 ??? thank you
AMD has their own TPM solution that you have to activate through BIOS
Setting is called "fTPM"
Lol Insider settings started to refer Windows 11. RIP Windows 10 2015-2021
Anyone wants to play Minecraft with me? Dm and call
hi
https://docs.microsoft.com/en-us/windows-hardware/design/minimum/supported/windows-11-supported-amd-processors list of AMD CPUs Windows 11 supports. Note that Ryzen 1st gen isn't in there. Looks like OG Zen CPU users will have to upgrade if they want to use Windows 11.
what about intel?
looks like the oldest Intel generation Windows 11 will support is 8th gen
These lists are incomplete, mind you.
Since if they're not, they contradict the requirements.
"The following apps will not be removed on upgrade but will no longer be installed on new devices or when clean-installing Windows 11. They are available for download from the Store:"
3D Viewer
OneNote for Windows 10
Paint 3D
Skype
Finally, thank God. RIP Paint tho
I uninstalled all of those listed either through the Microsoft Store or using cmd. If I could show how my start menu looks it is pretty minimal. All of the bloat is gone and even stuff I felt I would never use. I think only photos and video editor survived
skype's being replaced with teams
directly integrated
Oof
well I hope there will be a way to remove it, like Skype
btw, earlier today I learnt that my new GPU (6800 XT Red Devil) is taller than a Series X when it is standing... 32cm for the Red Devil and 30cm for the Series X
Bro paint 3D is the boy
Is there a way to play Xbox GP Ultimate on pc while having it on other microsoft account? like i have "ACC 2" it has the gamepass, but "ACC 1" is my main acc and doesnt have gamepass, can i play on acc 1 with gamepass while having it on acc 2?
No
@The laggy one#0001 pinging you about the pudding caps, continuing the topic here. But yes, they’re hyperx. They fix razer keyboard for the most part.
Well, ping failed
lol
Hi, my friend is playing sea of thieves on PC, however he is running into some issues with the audio. He cannot hear any instruments, and cannot hear the voice acting in "A Pirates Life". Does anyone have a fix?
Wait @smoky flame
Sorry for the ping but now do you have to download windows 11 instead of 10
Like for my pc im building what do i do
Sooo i just download windows 10?
U need to own a w10 license key for the upgrade
If you have windows 8 or 8.10 its a free upgrade.
Do you have to update to 11?
Or can you stay on 10
can stay on W10 but support ends in 2025 to which point you will have wanted to upgrade to W11 so you do have some time to wait if you'd like to
yeah, once Windows 11 gets released it will probably be best to go straight to that with a newer PC
just be aware that there is two lists of "supported processors" going about for both AMD and Intel. AMD minimum seems to be Ryzen 2nd generation (Zen+) and Intel minimum seems to be 8th generation (Coffee Lake)
for any first time install of Windows, yeah you'll need to buy the OS but after that no
I think I worded that slightly confusingly
if you are on Windows 10 etc Windows 11 is free likely for so long, similar to how Windows 10 was brought in
though if your PC doesn't yet have an OS you will have to buy it and activate it. Maybe that is a bit less confusing 😄
after that though it should be tied to your Microsoft account so there should be no more having to buy another OS, with the exception of it you wanted the Pro version
you have a GPU already don't you? could activate Windows 10 now, if you haven't already then upgrade GPU and later Windows 11
RX 6000 (Navi 2) GPUs are really good. Might lack DLSS but FSR makes up for it somewhat. 6700 XT will be quite an upgrade
My friend wants to build a pc soon so i thought it would be wrong to take his gpu
Asking here because I know you guys are clever with this kind of stuff, but when I update my nvidia graphic card drivers, all my monitors stop working and I have to revert windows to get them to work properly/boot in safe mode and roll back drivers. I've recently re-installed windows and everything else is up to date. Is it a common issue or have I messed something up somewhere?
Due to it going terribly, I had to put my BIOS in legacy mode too, I think I messed up the installation pretty bad... 😓
that definitely sounds like something messed up somewhere
Google pulls up results from 6+ years ago, but didn't know if someone on the off chance had heard of something.
any idea what driver you were updating from?
I was downloading the latest from geforce experience.
But even if I update to an older one, it doesn't like it either.
first time I've heard of a driver doing what you describe tbh so even I don't know what to say or suggest really 😦
having to put the BIOS into legacy mode is an odd one too
how old is this PC?
Yeah it was the only way W10 would install for some reason.
About 3 years old
I wanted to re-install windows from scratch, and it formatted the hard drives when I was re-installing and then it crashed somehow, and it went downhill from there.
It was one issue after another.
Ah well, it is what it is. Serves me right for trying to do it myself. 😅
hmm in your BIOS change it back to UEFI and disable CSM, if you can find it then reinstall Windows again. 3 years old it should be UEFI supported. Legacy would be for older and pretty sure wouldn't support windows 10 or play nice with it so maybe your hardware is picking up off that
I don't have a CSM option on my BIOS
I changed it back to UEFI and I was riddled with issues trying to install
Mostly from formatting for some reason
It wouldn't install to the partitions on my HD
I had to command prompt bodge job the current build
damn, yeah. I'm not sure. Sorry 😦 Could perhaps be the storage is on its way out or something or the motherboard. Other than that this has confused me and I have no idea
I had to convert to GPT or MBR or something, I can't remember what one it even was now.
It was a lot more difficult than just following the installer 😅
It's ok, thanks though 🙂
GPT is why I suggested disabling CSM. That should ensure BIOS loads up as UEFI and secure boot would show itself as an option too. I think MBR can be converted to GPT in Windows but there may be a chance of data loss
Ooh ok GPT was what it was having issues with but I'll see if I can convert. Thank you 🙂
if you can fix the legacy BIOS thing and reinstall windows once more it should install as GPT. Kind of surprised there is no CSM option, unless it goes under another name. Never know with some motherboard manufacturers at times
No
That's not for anyone here to decide. That'd be up to their parents.
playing Metro Exodus (non enhanced edition) with my new GPU and I can't remember if I should disable advanced phsyx or not. Already have hairworks and tesselation off as they are said to have a very hefty performance hit on AMD hardware. Good old anti competitive Nvidia and their features
that's not how that works
legacy physx stuff utilizes nvidia gpu's due to how they're designed
that's why running physX in mirror's edge on even top of the line AMD cards will drop it to under 10fps
insert NASA computer joke here
physX is too powerful for even those

quadruple that because they usually run PPC, or lately RISC-V
hmm so shouldn't this advanced physx option be greyed out for AMD cards? I had some feeling it was a GPU physx feature but wasn't 100% sure. What does it fall back to disabling it? CPU particle effects?
usually just normal GPU particles if the game has it
physX are advanced compute particle physics
ok, disabling that too then. Thanks 👍
6800 XT or not I'll still be actively searching for Nvidia features and disabling them seeing as they tend to hit AMD cards harder for no real reason. Even Hardware Unboxed showed it on their video of Metro Exodus. Didn't Nvidia get in trouble with Hairworks too in the past?
besides Metro Exodus though. So far I've been extremely impressed with the 6800 XT. So much so I'm seriously considering a 4K upgrade this year especially if this is anything to go by. Every game set to maxed settings, no ray tracing at 1440p and where possible RIS enabled either in game where supported or through Radeon Software
going to try Death Stranding but I think I already know what to expect from that. Was very playable on my old 5700 XT
played Death Stranding for around 34 minutes and Radeon Software reports average FPS was 178.9
https://i.imgur.com/hdwMSZz.png is it possible to fix this?
Check the ESRB lmaoooo

hi
can anyone help, i record clips through my xbox app through my pc, that way when i make a video i can just add clips together, and im always in discord, when i clip it gets everyones voices in discord but mine, it will get mine in game but i dont talk in game much, just wont pick up my own voice through discord for some reason, thanks if anyone can help
Didn't know Square Enix were developing Windows 11, interesting decision MS
I found a grave stone in the mall parking lot today
What do you wanna know?
So question Microsoft said Intel 8th gen and up are supported on windows 11. How about AMD cpus how does that scale?
2nd gen and up
And I'm still waiting for them to say what's the reason for the otherwise perfectly meeting the requirements 6/7th gen Intel/ 1gen Ryzens not being compatible...
8th gen Intel chips is when their firmware based TPM2.0 implementation was added, they weren't present in the 6th/7th generation, so my guess is it's related to that
