Well, I downclocked my GPU and undervolted whilst lowering fan speeds. Now my pc is quiet and I don't get coil whine. Pretty happy. Still getting 350fps without FG too in Call Of Duty: Vanguard. I wouldn't have been able to do this without testing on Linux lol.

Both clock speeds are at 2.5ghz.

Oddly enough some of your achivement progress moves from xbox/win10 to steam but not the other way round.
I played the Gears 5 tech test way back through the windows store, and unlocked some achievments in that ig cuz once I bought it on steam recently and launched it I had 15 achievements immediately spam me.

First it's not bait. If you're using something that requires the numpad and you take time to swap palettes to your streamdeck by the time you either swap palettes you've already missed your timing window for either input

if it was an option on its own that's one thing, but it exclusively replaces the numpad on a full size

if corsair releases an extended version where it's on the left then that'd make the point moot

but corsair's been phasing out their extended keyboards quite heavily over recent years

the CPU specs for both recommended and ultra seem on the excessive side with AMD. While they both have more cores than say a 7800X3D or 9800X3D (12 and 16 cores vs 8) things get a bit complicated as often times using either of those CPUs will incur a performance and latency penalty when both CCDs are in use and testing in the past showed it can leave a lot of performance on the table

true, yeah but Intel's 13600/K works differently again as it only has 6 Performance cores (with hyperthreading so 6c/12t) and 8 E cores (that lack hyperthreading) and in some way games ideally should only be run off the P cores on these Intel CPUs while the E cores get all of the background tasks. Core count on Intel may show as higher these days but idk, I feel it may be misleading for the less tech minded people out there

even with the latest Intel CPUs Intel lists both the 270K Plus and 285K as 24 cores and while that is correct for the combined core count the key thing to look out for is that both CPUs are 8 P core and 16 E cores - this time lacking hyperthreading on the P cores, which for some games and programs that benefit from the use of hyperthreading may result in loss of performance and allow the 14th gen predecessor to take a lead against it

I would select DLSS seeing as you are on Nvidia and it is the superior option for your specific GPU. Only exception to this I would have said was if the game was known to have a particularly poor implementation of DLSS (which rarely seemed to happen compared with FSR implementation in games).
As for Frame Gen, that would be personal preference but as it is a single player game I'd say give it a try and see what you think. Nvidia Reflex would automatically enable with Frame Gen enabled but for the setting standalone I'd set it to at least On, some games also have an On + Boost option that claims to further reduce latency

try seeing what the FPS is like using Quality mode first and if you find it isn't enough go to balanced and then performance if required. Wouldn't recommend ultra performance though as that is recommended for anyone crazy enough to be gaming on a 8K display lol

ok, this is optional. If you want to go to your games and find Starfield then you should find an option that allows you to override the DLSS version, from there select Recommended and it will enable DLSS 4 and DLSS 4.5 support depending on the preset used in game. DLAA, Quality and Balanced should change to DLSS 4 Preset K while Performance and Ultra Performance will change to DLSS 4.5 Preset M and L. Only issue with these newer DLSS versions, DLSS 4.5 especially is that due to RTX 30 series and older lacking support for FP8 it has a heftier hit to performance than if it was enabled on either an RTX 40 or 50 series card. DLSS 4 shouldn't be nearly as hefty though

better visual quality from the upscaling from reduced ghosting and artifacting mainly

with DLSS 4.5 ghosting from TAA is pretty much gone. I played around with DLSS 4.5 a lot on Cyberpunk 2077 and even with DLSS enabled in game ghosting was visible leaving a trail when driving a car or moving V left to right and seeing the weapon leaving a ghostly trail but after overriding to DLSS 4.5 that was all effectively gone and it should work similarly in most other games

min is based off low preset and targeting 1080p 30 FPS while recommended is aiming for 1080p 60 FPS at high so those GPU specs are going to have to come in higher of course and even more so for 1440p 60 FPS high settings. Also no mention of upscaling used, just "native" so could probably run some of those settings on lower end hardware while using upscaling and getting better than 1080p/1440p 60 FPS at high settings though won't know that for sure until we see actual gameplay

yeah, I don't believe it is supported on your board. If you notice any issues with stability I suggest going into your BIOS and finding an option along the line of PCIe Link Speed (could be named differently for MSI) but default is auto, change it to PCIe 4.0. Not to say you will run into issues but if you do, there has been some reports of PCIe 5 capable GPUs crashing and BSODing with motherboards that lack PCIe 5 support (when reported as supporting it)

at what cost though? FSR 4.1 up until now and even when RDNA 3 (RX 7000 series) gets it will be AI accelerated as both generations of cards have such tech and being able to utilize FP8 and INT8 (RDNA 4) or INT8 (RDNA 3). RDNA 2 lacking feature support for AI acceleration likely means it has to compromise on quality and fallback even further than RDNA 3 has had to. Probably closer to an FSR 4.1 "lite" implementation

Yes, but if AMD is actively developing it they can further optimize it. Everything you just talked about was an early build of FSR 4 for rDNA 2 and rDNA 3.
AMD has more info on their architectures and driver base than modders.

I am not expecting some wild performance swings, but it should definetly help the Series S with image quality to some extent or another.

i will say all the ray tracing and nvidia options are so confusing to me. trying to figure it all out. now getting roughly 80fps at the UW 2k resolution, hitting about 90-95% GPU at High settings. but i dont think i have any of the fancy stuff turned on. fixed some of the jittering/skipping last night when i noticed i was hitting 100% GPU on the extreme settings it optimized to

The last Driver Update was October 2025 for 10-series..

Idk when it changed but yesterday I tried getting the Nvidia app to detect Forza Horizon 6 and it didn’t so I thought I’d have to wait for an Nvidia app update in order to override DLSS 4.5 on it but now it showed and using Preset M (one of DLSS 4.5’s presets) the ghosting trail I noticed behind cars while moving? Gone! Performance takes a small hit for those on RTX 40 and 50 series but a larger hit if on older Nvidia RTX GPUs

Been benchmarking the game with some people on another server and at first I got 129 FPS at 1440p DLSS Quality and extreme preset then restarted my PC while closing all system tray icon programs and using the same settings got 158 FPS. That is no run variance thing that +29 FPS 😱

it does in being able to use FP8. That alone should mean it is at least 10% faster than RDNA 3 on FSR 4.1 - which all but wipes out any advantage the 7900 XTX may have had on the 9070 XT. Even on a better optimized version I still think this will play out and be true meaning the only way to see the 7900 XTX possibly shine would be in native resolution, non RT games as RDNA 4 has the upper hand in upscaling and RT performance. It should cost more than double the RTX 5080 in all honesty. It's a much bigger die (more than 2x the shaders), with double the VRAM, and WILL age far more gracefully than the RTX 5080.

Had to change some settings in Steam but works pretty good now. Didn't hurt performance running a game in Steam pausing it and holding Xbox Button to switch to an XBOX PC game. Not a true Quick Resume like on our Xbox Consoles though. Still needs some improvements but it's step in the right direction. I like it though. Controlling and closing everything with your controller without having to touch the keyboard or mouse is nice.

pretty sure AMD GPUs are limited to 54Gbps on both the RX 7000 and RX 9000 series GPUs. Intel ARC Alchemist supports the older Displayport 2.0 spec and unsure about the more recent Battlemage GPUs they released

There will definitely be a spike and then a sudden drop, with most of the population boost being in the lower level content. I reckon some may stick around, but I don't expect there to be huge numbers.

But Evolve was almost dead any way before it went F2P and was a much worse game overall.

Other times it’s a cracked motherboard, shot RAM, and fried PSU with 3 hard drives failing and an SSD that won’t connect half the time, all with an improperly seated CPU with thermal paste in the socket.

the other advice for building a PC for the first time, don't try and go too small a case. Having room to work is helpful. 😃
