the problem with the 4060 was that compared to a 3060 12 gigabyte you were only seeing marginal gains between 6-10 fps
the 1060 to the 2060 you were seeing 30 to 40 fps gains and the 2060 to 3060 around 20 to 30 fps gains

one of the retailers here in the UK could even make a huge cube out of the available Sapphire Pulse units they had on launch day (and that is only one model) I don’t think any RTX 50 series GPU has ever had that kind of availability by comparison

if only gaming on this system I would say you picked the right CPU. 9950X3D has some scheduling shenanigans that may lower performance slightly compared to the 9800X3D since that only uses the one CCD that also happens to house the 3D V Cache

the only issue I've ran into since owning my 9800X3D is that when gaming at maxed settings and having Microsoft Edge open alt tabbing between the two can sometimes lead to a sort of lagging affect on the browser but weird alt tabbing fixes that. idk if VRAM being close to max use is the issue but 24GB I would have thought surely not (though in Diablo 4 I have seen it use almost all the available VRAM) and RAM shouldn't really be much of an issue either. I even limited that via one of Microsoft Edge's features so that it can only use up to 3GB of RAM while gaming

yeah, the engine its built on is garbage and a lot of things are tied to frame rates. you take more damage the higher your frame rate, its harder to kill other players, game physics just become mega janky (notably driving).
you also see horrific 1% lows at 120FPS and above. 300FPS iirc just breaks the game entirely.

Ah, see, I was going to get 64GB RAM but I read the X3D chips are sensitive to Latency, so that’s why I went 32GB 6000 CL30 - the CL30 was the important part as the higher storage / faster ones had higher latency.
